REX RYAN: NO SUPER BOWL GUARANTEE THIS YEAR (http://www.northjersey.com/sports/pro_sports/football/Rex_Ryan_No_Super_Bowl_guarantee_this_year.html)

"Jets coach Rex Ryan offered no guarantees this year.<div id="storybody">

A year ago at the NFL scouting combine, a confident Ryan guaranteed that the
Jets would win the Super Bowl. They had reached the previous two AFC
Championship games, and Ryan felt the team was on the cusp of greatness.</p>

Instead, they finished 8-8, missed the playoffs and watched the Giants beat
the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.</p>

In his return to the combine Thursday, Ryan was apologetic. Before a single
question was asked, he said the guarantee was a "huge mistake," an honest
attempt to motivate his team that backfired. Ryan said he'll still be outspoken,
but he won't say things that hurt the team."</p></div>

Could it be Rex and Woody had a "Come to Jesus chat"?

So, Rex is sticking the metaphorical foot in his mouth this time now.

I watched it

he looked out of sorts...having to answer that question, having to answer unnamed sources ripping Sanchez, answering if he's a changed man which he fired back I'LL NEVER CHANGE

he looks worried

This is the classic definition of "being humbled" by the Giants.

15-1 Packers and 16-0 Patriots? Humbled as well.

I'm thinking more like they had a "Time to shut up, Fatboy" chat.

First the congrats in the newspapers, and now this? Looks like someone is trying to turn a new leaf (or give that impression)....I'm not buying it.

It's looking more and more like the Christmas Eve game had a profound effect on Woody, much more than any of us could have predicted, imo.

There can be no doubt, as of this latest Rex press quote, that he had a "woodshed" meet with Johnson at some point over the past 4 weeks.

Did big brother inspire little brother?

LOL what a joke, it took the giants to destroy the jets and win t he SB for them to realize Rex shouldn't guarantee SBs
