View Full Version : Nothing would make Plaxico happier than playing for the Eagles

One year later, Plaxico Burress is still pushing to join the Philadelphia Eagles.

Burress appeared on 97.5 The Fanatic on Tuesday and said, “nothing else would make me happier” than joining the Eagles. Buress said the Eagles had “a lot” of interest in him last year. (Although not enough to out-spend the Jets.)

The Eagles need red zone help. That’s basically Plaxico’s role at this stage of his career. It was reported by Adam Caplan of SiriusXM that the Eagles would have interest in Burress. We can’t imagine there will be great competition for his services.

The Jets paid Burress $3 million on a one-year contract last offseason. There was an element of risk because no one knew what Burress would look like after his prison sentence.

Now we know what Burress looks like: A role player. There’s not a lot of reason to think Burress will get a better contract this offseason.

Will be 35 years old by the time the season starts.

You can have him Eagles.

In all honesty I don't see the Eagles making a move for Plaxico.

They have 10 draft picks, they could fine an adequate receiverin the draft.

If he were to land there, I hope it works out for them as well as Steve Smith

Let the eagles have him. Lol. He can join the dream team that has not won anything of meaning since 1960. Good luck plax, lol

Isn't this the guy that just said he wanted to play for the Giants? And now he wants to play for a divisional rival? Plax just seems intent on destroying whatever respect Giants fans have left for him. Whatever. We don't want him anyway.

I'm guessing he doesn't want to put his family through a move. He can play on 5 teams and not move his family:

GIANTS
redskins
jets
eagles
ravens

Who can blame him for wanting as much as he can get this late in his career? He lost out on a monster contract when he put himself in that predicament, and now he wants to do what's best for his family!

Best of luck to Plax

I think the Giants went 13-7... that's 5 more than 8.

Also, 4 > 0. In case you didn't know that, either.

good for him.

Then he can play the giants and have another amazing 3 catches for 34 yard outing.

Yeah, you guys had almost the same season as us . . . . lol

Yeah, well I can agree with the sentiment that we only had 1 more win we also know the importance of securing that 1 win(last season going 10-6 and missing the playoffs) and did not only that but won 4 more games to get where we did. Just because we made the playoffs on the last day of the season and made a run does not directly mean the Eagles would have, if they got past ATL they would have gotten beat by the Pack again imo.

A Philly fan takes stock in having one less regular season win then us. That's a huge Acomplishment for them considering they don't win super bowls. Also the Skins feel their season was a success due to beating the SB champs twice. We beat both Pittsburgh and Arizona the year they played in SB.. But we don't count em unless we actually win the SB. No moral victories for the giants

Don't even bother arguing with Giants fans. All they do is make Super Bowl cracks. You could be arguing about politics, and they would still try to work it into the conversation.

Their Eagles fetish is out of control.

Simply delusional.

Now watch some meatball respond to this post and prove me right, lmao.

Now watch some meatball respond to this post and prove me right, lmao. The reason that happens is because when Eagle fans argue, the topic of success normally finds its way in, and the Eagles haven't had much success.

And yes, I do consider the SB as a measure of success. Because it fits my argument? No. But because it is the zenith of pro sports, and if you don't win the SB your season is always a failure, and I'm sure Eagle players and Eagle coaches -- HELL any player or coach, would say the same.

But I can see where you're coming from. If you want to logically argue sports and there is always that one road block (topic of SBs) that puts an end to an otherwise good debate, I can see where that can get frustrating, but I'm sure you can agree that the when arguing about the course of a season, trying to compare a SB winning team's year w/one that missed the playoffs and flat out underachieved is illogical.

And before you say I proved your point, realize I'm not ragging on your team's success, I'm just explaining why you can expect that kind of response from Giant fans, and why appletree943's post received the response it did.

Actually 5 more wins than you BECAUSE WE MADE THE PLAYOFFS AND WON THE SUPER BOWL. No losses since before Christmas.

Are you that blind that you can't see that applies here? You idiots are trying to compare our superbowl winning season to your season where you didn't even make the playoffs, and you guys wonder why no takes filthy fans seriously.
