Charlie Peprah is an honorable mention I'd say. We could of really used him during the C.C Brown and Aaron Rouse era.

The most recent would be Cofield... watch him rise on the Redskins. :(

V. Shiancoe, Tyrone Wheatley, Dave Meggett, to name a few...

I thought that Shank was better than Shockey, we let the wrong TE go.....Wheatley was terrible with the Blue, better in Oakland, Meggett was pretty good with NE but better with the Giants...

How does Cameron Wake get cut?He was a runt and we already had a stable of pretty good pass rushers.

Yea...he went to the CFL so it's not like we were the only ones to drop the ball there.

And yeah, Cofield hurts. I always thought he never got the credit he deserved on DL.

Matt Bryant has done well

never really understood why he was let go. his clutch kicking percentage is extremely high.

Shiancoe was another EA blunder. i bet he wasn't asking for much either.

letting Rosenthal and Whittle walk after 2002

i also think Will Allen, aside from not being able to catch a football, should have been kept. he was highly touted as a very good cover corner in miami until he blew his knee out a year or two ago, but he had about 3 or 4 very god years with the phins.

Brandon Short was pretty good, he was big and had heart, and he was replaced with Carlos Emmons, who was big with no heart.

It's funny, my first thought was Wheatley also. I knew, or thought I did, that he did well in Oakland...He really only played decent the first year there.

How does Cameron Wake get cut?

because the giants only tried him at LB, never gave him an opportunity to be a pass rusher.

Thats why they missed.

I gotta disagree with Banks and Bavaro. Banks was well past his prime and it showed. Bavaro our hands were tied. Doctors strongly advised his knees could no longer hold up. We didnt sign Bavaro becuz the FO loved Bavaro and wouldnt do that to him.

I always thought Mark Collins was one we shoulda kept for another 4 years. He did quite well for KC.

That most of the players guys are mentioning here either

1. Played their prime years with us, and only finished their careers with other teams with minimal success

or

2. Are at best, decent starters with other teams

shows that we haven't really let go of anyone and really regretted it. Other than Maynard, who became one of the best punters ever, and Warner (who was never really a long term option anyway) I don't think anyone mentioned a single player that became a pro-bowler for another team. Especially over the past 10 years.

The best guys I can think of are Ryan Clark in PIT, and he's not exactly a world beater and Dhani Jones, who piled up tackles but didn't make all that many big plays.

Jeez about time someone mentioned these two.

And whoever said Tyrone Wheatley is on crack. Couldn't give that chump away fast enough.

I have to go with Matt Stover. We had him in training camp (in 1991), but the team went with an aging Matt Bahr. From that point, the Giants went thru Bahr, Treadwell, Daluiso, Blanchard, Morton Anderson, Matt Bryant, Steve Christie, Jay Feeley, and Tynes the whole time while Stover was a mainstay at Cleveland/Baltimore (18 years of stability)...

Ed McCaffrey became a Pro Bowl player with Denver after living in the Giants' depth chart for a while...
