View Full Version : The Hit ( non giants related ) well maybe

Open mind please thanks!

so this is the hit that lead to the string of neck problems manning has sustained ever since.

guess who was the coach...

you guessed it Gregg "show me the money" Williams

now if found guilty with peyton manning next to brady being one of the poster child's of the modern NFL; Goddell will be forced into the corner by the media and raging fans to make the punishment damaging to both coach and organization... were talking picks folks

<blockquote><font color="#0000FF">spygate -The NFL says it has fined Bill Belichick the NFL maximum of $500,000,
the Patriots $250,000 and ordered the team to give up next year's
first-round draft choice (if it reaches the playoffs) because New
England spied on the Jets defensive signals. If the Patriots don't make
the playoffs they have to give up second- and third-round picks in
April.</font></blockquote><div style="overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">
i'm thinking similar or worst for this one across the board. and in this upcoming draft cause spy gate was found during the season this is off season with time before the draft for a ruling on this to be handed down.

here's were this pertains to the giants. :)

1. the skins hurt themselves losing a possible pick not being able to get RG3 or whoever they were going to draft if the maximum penalty is a 1st.

2. Jags / Bills / saints / All possibly getting the same punishment if found guilty making our 32 pick 28 if all goes well :) this changes the complexion of the whole draft boards even the 2nd-3rd rounds

3. even if its not a 1st round pick even if its a 2nd round or 3rd this is still good news for us come draft time.

i hate that the game is not played at a highly physical level where punishing hits that were okay 10 yrs ago are flagged now, but were playing within the rules and the rules state such... why not accept the advantages of it.

if it was Eli that got hit like that against the skins how would we feel finding out their coach had a pay to kill system going on... hell i'm pissed at them for hurting Richie i would go ballistic

wait, peyton played every game up until this past season. greg williams was the NO DC since 2008-2009 i believe, so wouldnt it be impossible for GWilliams to be the DC of Wash. when this happened??

if NO injured him yeah I guess, also, I doubt DC gets penalized, that'd be like Cleveland getting penalized bc BB got caught with Spygate in NE but he coached in Cleveland...

i want DC to lose picks, but it aint happening. NO will be punished, i severely doubt any other org. williams coached for gets any penalties

That game took place in 06 when Gregg Williams was Washington's DC.

Peyton didn't get knocked out of the game, but briefly lost feeling in his throwing arm and people close to Manning say the neck/arm issues have been present since that time with other hits causing further damage. I don't know if they can prove this was the start of it though. </P>

Will be really interesting if the 2 top stories of the offseason collide.

03-04-2012, 03:33 PM
That was roughing the passer.... Rodgers gets a pinky to the knee and it's a 1,000,000 yard penalty and an expulsion, but when peyton or eli get hit there's nothing

03-04-2012, 04:37 PM

it begins.
once they have findings which are blatantly apparent then they start looking at other teams, no way the saints go down as the lone scapegoat for this every gregg williams run defense will be targeted.... lets hope their right and these teams lose picks.

I would take away the 1,2,3,4 picks of the Saints for the next 2 years, expel williams from the league, fine Sean Payton 1 Mil, and lower their salary cap allowance by 10 mil for 2 seasons.

I don't think they can go back in time and punish the redskins, etc... It's been going on forever. Carl Banks just said that the players had bounties all the time for the Giants when he was playing. </P>

The Saints should have just knocked it off when they were told to.</P>

The same as Spygate, all teams might do it in their own way......but the Aints were dumb enough to get caught and shall be used as an example.

Punishment- League max fine for Gregg, Sean and the Saints. Give up their 2nd, 3rd in 2012 draft AND their first in 2013.

Extra punishment- Be known as one of the dirtiest teams by all other fans and never be given credibility for anything your team accomplishes because of it.

all that's left is to give it a proper title lol.

Actually, I would take away their 1st and 2nd round picks for 3 years in a row. They gotta teach those fools some hard lesson. I knew that Saints team was fishy all along.

i'm telling you guys Goodell is forced into a tight spot here, if he only punishes the saints then the saint fanbase go ballistic... i mean not that they have a pot to piss in but still, no way the skins, jags, bills walk away from this un touched if found guilty.

the colts fans are already petitioning on their boards lol, Phillip Daniels who bent mannings neck back in their eyes is the person to blame for his string of reoccurring injuries, and i believe it.

neck/spine injuries can be sudden onset or chronic. but once the damage is done you either don't move or have lingering pain that gets worst with exertion.

i'm just looking at it from a draft standpoint at this stage if found guilty that's possibly 3 spots moved down in the draft for us and changes a whole lot, especially with skins as one of the frontrunners for RG3.

I'll keep updating as this goes on. You may not care too much about this no, but i have this gut feeling that this pans out well for this organization as we get closer to the draft.

protect the shield or cater to the fans its on you Goodell

Williams has to be banned from the league, a fine and suspension wouldn't be enough.
