so this is the hit that lead to the string of neck problems manning has sustained ever since.
guess who was the coach...
you guessed it Gregg "show me the money" Williams
now if found guilty with peyton manning next to brady being one of the poster child's of the modern NFL; Goddell will be forced into the corner by the media and raging fans to make the punishment damaging to both coach and organization... were talking picks folks
<blockquote><font color="#0000FF">spygate -The NFL says it has fined Bill Belichick the NFL maximum of $500,000,
the Patriots $250,000 and ordered the team to give up next year's
first-round draft choice (if it reaches the playoffs) because New
England spied on the Jets defensive signals. If the Patriots don't make
the playoffs they have to give up second- and third-round picks in
April.</font></blockquote><div style="overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-align: left; text-decoration: none; border: medium none;">
i'm thinking similar or worst for this one across the board. and in this upcoming draft cause spy gate was found during the season this is off season with time before the draft for a ruling on this to be handed down.
here's were this pertains to the giants. :)
1. the skins hurt themselves losing a possible pick not being able to get RG3 or whoever they were going to draft if the maximum penalty is a 1st.
2. Jags / Bills / saints / All possibly getting the same punishment if found guilty making our 32 pick 28 if all goes well :) this changes the complexion of the whole draft boards even the 2nd-3rd rounds
3. even if its not a 1st round pick even if its a 2nd round or 3rd this is still good news for us come draft time.
i hate that the game is not played at a highly physical level where punishing hits that were okay 10 yrs ago are flagged now, but were playing within the rules and the rules state such... why not accept the advantages of it.
if it was Eli that got hit like that against the skins how would we feel finding out their coach had a pay to kill system going on... hell i'm pissed at them for hurting Richie i would go ballistic
