Monday making him only the third punter in NFL history to be given the franchise

In a release from the Giants, Weatherford added this:</p>

"This is a great franchise and a great organization, really the best I've
been with. so it's very exciting to know that I will be back. I think the
franchise tag is a step that needed to be taken to continue to work together on
a long term deal. I want to be with the Giants for a long time and I really
think the feeling is mutual, so hopefully something can get worked out long term
and I can be a Giant for another four, five or 10 years."</p>

Weatherford had the best season of his six-year career in 2011, averaging
45.7 yards per punt. He had a net average of 39.4 with 27 of his 82 punts being
downed inside the 20-yard line." Read more...

Honestly, after watching this guy, I think he is wired in the "stoked" position all the time... I bet he gets up in the morning and high fives everyone around him over getting a bowl of cheerios for breakfast.

I for one, will remember the NFCCG forever.

In the second half, Steve had a barrage of punts to do. The rain combined with some kind of mist, gave the from-behind shots of Weatherford punts a kind of ghostly look. It looked so unreal each times. I was getting even deeper in my couch thinking : Holy....I'm sure somthing bad is gonna happen next !

The San Fran punter was very good also. Despite the terrible field condition, the punters were utterly effective.

Incredible game. The superbowl was very good. But that game had something special also.

he really did a great job and certainly deserves to be among the top 5 highest paid punters
