This is insane. Garcone and VJ robbed their new teams. This is bad for the NFL. Means we will only have to pay the same price when it's time to re-sign Cruz, Nicks, JPP, etc..

It's nothing new. It happens every year.
Garçon's contract is a bit surprising but VJax's isn't.

Overpaying for players builds fan excitment but when has it built a SB team?

Finding "big name" talent before it is big name talent is what wins with a salery cap

I sense a salsa dance somewhere in that.

I also gotta give props to Ballard, Hynoski, Pascoe, etc to name a few...

Plaxico Burress' contract seemed pretty big at the time (5 yrs/$25 mil) and he was instrumental in the Giants' XLII victory.

Snyder, is a moron. His overpaying has got the Skins nowhere, but has helped screwup the NFL player compensation standards. MM is loving these signings!!!

You should read the piece written by Mike Lombardi a couple days ago. Discusses how some top tier free agents get big money right away in free agency because their agents know just when to strike. Then there's a calm period when bargains are made.

No, we got Plax on the cheap. He didn't have the market that he thought he would have and we swept in and got a good deal.

Snyder overpays for everything. Has always tried to buy a
Winner with " names".

Ah, nevermind then. I just remember him being the top FA WR that year. I guess Jerry Porter was the hideously overpaid one.

Yeah he's nuts. The Eagles effectively sabotaged them by offering up McNabb. And how about the Haynesworth signing? Jesus.
It's no wonder they're the eternal bottom feeders in the division.

I do think they have a chance to do something with RGIII though, but knowing them they'll do their best to screw it up.

That was a huge FA year for us. Plaxico, Pierce, and McKenzie. No SB 42 without those 3.

Well, maybe he should resign JPP, Nicks, and Cruz now before they even get close to reaching free agency. There is incentive for the player to sign earlier anyway because they know that one injury could ruin an entire career.

You always have to pay more to get someone to change teams...That's what happen with us last year with SS and Boss and compare those contracts versus Stevie Johnson and Colston which stayed with their teams...

and this is "new" information???

The biggest name player is always waited on to make a deal so there is a "template" for all the other guys in that postion can start negotiating. Until the rookie cap it happened every year with the frist rounders....

this is not new nor is it really an issue since its been going on since NFL players have been getting big money.
