There should have been no doubt in anyone minds that that was going to be the case. GM's sometimes love when a player gets a season ending injury in a contract year because you could sign that break out performer to the classic incentive base salary.

The option is also only 6 mill, not 11

After Year 1, there's an option bonus in Terrell Thomas' contract. Word was it was $11 million, but @MikeGarafolo just corrected that to $6M

Like I said in another thread, he will protect the team. Good job Reese.

I felt good about the news earlier as soon as Tuckyou started to question our management. It usually means things are going well.

All this deffered money makes me nervous.
I trust Reese but back loading all this money is how the Giants got in this cap mess in the first place.
Can't afford to lose JPP/Nicks or Cruz.

So you would rather pay it up front before you know if the guy can still play?</P>

It's a David Diehl thread not TT.
JPP is the one who will cost a fortune and there are some hefty backloaded contracts on this roster with he, Nicks and Cruz on the horizon.

My bad
Regardless, backloading contracts could be a serious problem as this Giants team is up against a cap with basically Eli & Webster being paid franchise money with JPP, Nicks and Cruz on the horizon.
That cap better go up significantly and don't want a DD or TT costing the Giants a JPP

Wow, you are cool.
What are you 5?
I posted what was reported. No crow to eat here. I stated several times that I trust Reese.
I said 4 yrs 28m is stupid for T2 coming off his 2nd major knee surgery.

The cap is also expected to jump 15 to 20 million following the 2014 TV deal, which leaves plenty of money for JPP, Nicks, and Cruz.

Maybe Diehl, Rolle, Canty, and Umenyiora are gone after this season. That will certainly free up money. Oh, and Kiwi too.
Maybe some, maybe all.

Please, I love Chase but he couldn't make the roster out of camp last year. I would give him another shot this year for vet min but it's not like the guy is worth $$.
