</p>Great! Don't understand the Cap and the guaranteed part. So question is, if his base went from 4.2 to 1.2 wouldn't that be 3m in Cap space instead of 1.5m?

I have no clue how the math works with the cap space haha. it's like black magic to me.

The 3mil shaven gets divided evenly amongst the remaining years. He has two years left. So half applies this year, half applies next.

Okay. Now that makes sense. So in case of Eli going from 10m down to 1m the 9m saved got spread over the remaining yrs..ok so he saved us about 2m in Cap space nut it will add 2m to what it would of been next yr.

So all in all is it because we do so much restructuring that we get in so much Cap trouble every yr by deferring so much salary it hurts us in long run

He's lucky he wasn't cut.My thoughts exactly. I think he agreed to this knowing he was a possible cut.

Yep. It's looking like some major cuts will be unavoidable next year. Look for the team to draft OL, DL and CB to replace those who will be jettisoned next year.

He was a prime suitor as his salary is all base. It it were to happen though, it would have happened long before the new league year. So it seems they were intent on keeping him from the start. Maybe they're not as high on either Beatty or Brewer as reported.

+1. I'm not ready to see Diehl go, but I'm willing to see him stay for less money and possibly as a back up. That o-line needs work.

Thank you, David Diehl!
