Giants | Jeremy Shockey update
Thu, 15 Mar 2012 07:41:31 -0700

Updating a previous item, the New York Giants are reportedly not interested in signing free-agent TE Jeremy Shockey (Panthers). Shockey has told the team he'd accept a veteran-minimum salary ($925,000), but that didn't get him anywhere.

Nope no surprise. He may be a good option if Reese could swallow his pride and have him come in to see if they could iron out their differences from that screaming match they h ad and how shockey said he would never play for the giants again and Reese concurred that he wouldnt while he was there.

However. at 31 he still has prob a few good yrs left and he would not be a feature TE. as long as he was good with that and block. lol. he could be good used in certain situations..

I guess its a moot point now

Good non-move by the Giants!

Of course.

All this talk about the Giants taking him back is just silly. I'm fairly certain that the Giants' FO would never even consider such a move, and they have all probably had a good chuckle at Shockey's lame attempts to create a market for his services . . . . . .

Goes to show you what happens if you burn bridges with this FO.

I'm glad we don't need that negative energy on the team and the way he went out sucks so yes I'm glad he not coming back. Plus we really don't have the room for him we have Bennett, Pascoe, and that practice squad guy I forgot his name so we don't need any more T.E.

I just heard in another thread that Shockey is saying the NY Media will do anything to make money off him to sell papers. He said show me a Comment or direct quote from me anywhere that says that i EVER WANTED to return to the Giants.

Claims the news report was false

Hmm. Funny how this report from shockey comes out right after the Giatns FO said that they have NO INTEREST in him... LOL

Kiwi and Shockey both missed out on Super Bowl XLII.

Compare and contrast.

Pound sand, Jeremy.

Why Would they? This guy burned so many bridges when he forced the Giants to trade him and now he realizes his career his almost over. Not a lot of teams are willing to put up with his attitude and declining talent.

Even if they were willing to forget his past they wouldn't sign him anyway, he'd just get hurt and miss half the season anyway.

I know I've said this before but I still feel that his effect on the offense and Eli in particular with his attitude and on field gestures is why he won't be back...

Maybe said he wanted to come back to NY...and play for Rex...

I know he was a goofball, immature, andall that....but I still like Shockey.

Raise your hand if the guy didn't pump you up....

.....yeah, that's what I thought.

If the guy is shot, that's one thing. But Shockey was damn talented TE when he was in NY.

thank god
It would almost be worth signing him just to hear what he has to say about his blow-up with JR and his old antics towards Eli.
