That would be amazing, I would love for Osi to retire a Giant so we will hold the torch with the best D-Line for a long time. I say stick him with a 5 or 6 year deal he should be done by then ready to retire.

Osi should go. The more he's on the field, the less JPP is on the field. He's a one dimentional player and thats it. Trade him for a 3rd as far as I'm concerned.

Burning up cap space for Osi is a waste of money.

A 3rd LOL.....

And what happens if JPP or Tuck go down? It's called quality depth and that's how you have the best D-line in the NFL.

9 sacks, 2 FF in 9 games, 7 starts.

MH, do you fail to remember that our defense got much better once all 3 of our DEs were nice and healthy.

If he wants to stay and make a fair contract, then it benefits us greatly to keep him. If he wants too much, then ship him off. We could probably get at least a second, even if he is essentially only a pass rusher.

Man I just don't see how we can resign him to the type of deal he wants,I mean even at a reduced price. With our cap issues how is it even possible,I don't see Reese giving him a big time deal with a large signing bonus and a small base salary, that's what he's upset about now.I just don't see this playing out any other way besides a trade. Not that I want to see him go but, there's just not enough money from what I can tell. Then Tuck is up after this upcoming year isn't he,plus Cruz want more,Nicks Reese better not let him hit the open market,JPP the same Reese have his work cut out for him.

Maybe while playing during this past season (and winning yet another SB) he's realized that he loves playing here, and money notwithstanding, that NY is the best situation for him as far as long term professional success is concerned.

Like how our nickle back is a starter, our 3rd DE is essentially as starter as well. He's a pass rush specialist of the highest caliber.

Give him a deal similar to John Abraham, who played a similar role on the falcons for the past few years.

If Osi wants to remain a Giant, and the team can afford him next year, then it is a great situation. Tuck, JPP, and him will make a nasty rotation, and our pass rush set-up will remain the baddest in the league for a very very long time.

I am for trading him if he expresses not wanting to be around, but definitely not if otherwise. Osi is an all-pro level player with great consistency.

The only way that I trade him, is if a team offered us that MLB that we have been looking for... Patrick Willis... :)

If it means giving him stupid money I'd rather let him hold out/trade him. But without knowing all that...Can't really say anything other than he's not worth a top DE contract.

I don't want to say he should go, but this makes some sense. They have a bunch of guys they need to take care of the next year or two he is getting up there while getting dinged up pretty good.

They would still have options like moving Kiwi back to DE or drafting another DE.

Burning up cap space for Osi is a waste of money.
Why do people want to trade the best pass rusher on the team. I dont see why it has to be one or the other. JPP can rush from the inside or they can go with a 5 man front and stand Osi up way outside. Osi is a great edge rusher and this is a passing league.Start Tuck and JPP and let Osi rotate in and let him fly of the edge.It will keep him fresh ,less wear and tear. He could even get lighter and faster then as well.

The problem is cost. Is he suddenly going to play for less or is there a way they can structure a deal that won't hurt the cap and make him happy? I think Tuck next year is a huge priority for the team.

imo, we have a ton of key free agents to sign next year and the following. We star handing out larger contracts over the next few years, a lot of those guys won't be in Giant blue. Heck, we'd be hard pressed to sign both Nicks AND Cruz at the current rate.

I definitely don't want to waste long term money on arguably the 3rd best on the team.

he is "semi" one dimensionl but he is a game changer for sure. Tough player to give up. They may not win in GB this past season without him there. Of course that taking one play out of context but its just an example.

Oh and just because Osi might be the 3rd best DE on this team doesn't mean he isn't a HELL of a DE... just means he's on a team LOADED with talent. JPP & Tuck are both top 10 DE's might even make a case for top 5. With JPP it's only a matter of time before he's THE best.

Osi is still a top 10 DE

If he was willing to play out his contract next year as is, I'm fine with Osi staying to be a part of the rotation. But if he still wants to whine about his contract, when the contract he has was completely front-loaded, I say get rid of him.
