Hixon cause of the two season ending injuries last 2 yrs.
JJ being a rookie and not playing at all in first yr like cruz
And Barden for same reasons as Hixon plus he was drafted with high expectations due to his height and comparison to plax

0 catches for 0 yards......with only 3 targets all season :P.

I believe JJ can be a good #3 for us. I also think Hixon is most likely the one guy standing in front of him so he better work his *** off to prove he is better

i hope Jerigan does prove to be the #3!

Hixon im not optimistic about with his history of injuries!

Barden is still unproven going into his 4th year! too many ????s about this guy!

Jernigan has a good chance to be the #3 imo!

Jernigan will get every opportunity as will Barden. Hixon has proven his ability and if his knee isn't a problem he may well emerge as the # 3 when all is said and done.

What they like about Hixon is his versatility

When JR picks a player in the first 3 rounds of a draft, he expects them to become a contributor by their 2nd year. I have a feeling we will see big things from JJ this year.

He knows the slot position very well and has incredible agility. I like his prospects.

I hope JJ does well, but I saw nothing in the return game that excited me. I think he is a poor mans wes welker and has to show something to be elevated above Barden and Hixon at this stage.

third receiver. Sorry JJ you won't be gifted anything. Be sure to sign up for all the Eli classes you can. Hixon will continue to work hard.

That is how they should approach the competition, believing in themselves. The results of their effort will determine their place on the roster, or not.

I hear ya Ro! Just dialing back up for Hixon. [;)]

Refreshing that they aren't believing in themselves in Miami. Thankfully those days are gone.

Honestly, I would love all 3 of these guys to have an impact this season rather than just one guy stepping up. I would love for each of them to play a roll in different formations and schemes. It will be beneficial in so many ways. Giving Eli more targets, creating more challenges for defenses to prepare for, added depth... So for me I am personally looking for all 3 guys to become a #3 receiver rather than just one guy. I hope they all contribute in their own way and make an impact on our offense

For those worried about JJ because he didn't much this season Toomer had 1 catch his rookie season and Manningham didn't do much his rookie season either.

We all know how good Toomer turned out being and now everyone is wondering how they replace Manningham. Give JJ a chance.

People have to understand there was no offseason last year. He was coming in cold and just never found it. Next season I expect a huge increase in productivity. Not like, Cruz huge, but like Manningham in his 2nd year huge (Manham had 57 catches, 800 yards, 5TDs). I think JJ could see something like 40 - 700 - 4TDs plus an improved return game.

By the way, Manham had 4 catches 26 yards 0 TDs his rookie year.

i agree Roanoke! i would love to see Hixon as the#3 on this team based on his experience and versatility.

im just afradhis knees may not hold up for an entire season.

i am hoping hes healthy and can contribute.

based on good off season work, training camp andpreseason i hope Jernigan and Hixonmake it a difficult decision for the Giants to pick a #3 receiver.

best of both worlds in that situation! lol

I read a comment earlier or up there about all 3 receivers (hixon, barden, and jernigan) playing roles in this offense.

I agree. It'd be nice to see different formations and whatnot with all 3 receivers.

Especially after the injuries Hixon has sustained, I'd love for him to be used in a limited (doesn't mean a few chances) way.
