REPORT: TEBOW HAS SIGHTS ON STARTING JOB (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/23/report-tebow-has-sights-set-on-starting-job/related/)

"The beauty of bringing Tim Tebow (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5096/tim-tebow) to New
York is that the Jets can now bench Mark Sanchez (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5192/mark-sanchez)
without ever benching him. As explained Thursday, the Jets can simply <a href="http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/22/jets-can-now-bench-sanchez-without-benching-him/">send
in Tebow whenever Sanchez is struggling</a>, calling it merely the use of the
Wildcat/T-Bone offense.

Tebow may not be on board with that. According to Gary Myers of the New
York Daily News, Tebow picked the Jets because Tebow <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/tim-tebow-ny-jets-a-backup-thinks-beat-mark-sanchez-starting-quarterback-job-sources-article-1.1049461">sees
a clear path</a> to becoming the teamís starting quarterback.</p>

The better approach will be to use both. Assuming the Jets have the
wherewithal to install the Sanchize playbook and the T-Bone playsheet, opposing
defense will have to spend time getting ready for Tebow ó and necessarily less
time getting ready for Sanchez.</p>

That definitely will come in handy when playing the Patriots, who have shown
that they can successfully focus on Tebow and come up with a way to beat
him.</p>

Still, the Jets surely enter this process knowing that it could bring to a
head the question of whether Sanchez can reach his potential as a quarterback
and as a leader. Heíll either have to step up or step off (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnSwz-9LLc4), and Tebow will
be more than ready to step in."</p>

So the Jets jumped early to give a contract extension to Sanchez and then traded some lower tier draft picks for Tebow, who wants to be the starter.

I wonder how this affects the disgruntled Jets WRs?

The WR's are probobly hoping that between the two of them Someone can throw a catchable ball!

lol... perhaps the Jets are trying to get back to the overwhleming run game + smothering defense scheme that got them to the AFC championship games not too long ago beacuse I think Tebow would have been a great fit for them back then when they had a run-heavy offense being hampered by Sanchez turnovers..

In what has been described by John Clayton as the worst locker room (last season) in the NFL, you can see where having both Tebow and Sanchez on the team could further intensify the divisions that already existed.
