FORMER NFL QB CHRIS SIMMS TO JOIN PATRIOT'S COACHING STAFF ("")

"Chris Simms apparently is headed back to the National Football League.<div id="storybody">


The former Ramapo High School quarterback has joined the coaching staff of
the New England Patriots, according to the Boston Herald.</p>


Simmsí title is not yet known, but heís believed to be taking an entry-level
position. His father, Phil, the lead analyst for CBS Sportsí NFL telecasts, was
the quarterback of the Super Bowl-winning Giants when Patriots head coach Bill
Belichick was the Giantsí defensive coordinator under Bill Parcells.</p>


A third-round draft choice out of Texas in 2003, Simms played five years in
the NFL with the Buccaneers and Titans. He had a 7-9 record as a starter and a
touchdown to interception ratio of 12 to 18.</p>


In May 2011, Simms was acquitted of charges of driving under the influence of
