I know, it isn't even April yet, but anything involving the Giants is always interesting to discuss. Besides, its better then listening to the media talk about Tim Tebow.

Take a shot at guessing the 2012 schedule for the NY Giants.

(2011 PLAYOFF TEAM in BOLD)

1- Cowboys (Opening Night Sept 5th)
2- Browns
3- @Bengals
4- Bucs
5- Eagles (Sunday Night)
6- @Panthers
7- BYE
8- @Redskins
9- @Falcons
10- Steelers (Monday Night)
11- Saints
12- @Cowboys (Thanksgiving Thursday 4pm)
13- @Ravens
14- RedSkins
15- @49ers (Monday Night)
16- Packers (Sunday Night)
17- @Eagles

I could see one home one away Monday Night games, 2 Sunday Night games, our Thursday game being Thanksgiving vs the Boys, the season ending strong once again.

Oh and for the 2013 Season, we play Peyton and the Broncos at home!

I could be wrong but I beleive that there is a rule about only having 5 primetime games in a season, with the exception of week 17 and playoffs ......

So your schedule ....

I don't thanksgiving game .... that being the 6th prime time ...

I would change a Monday night to a NFL Network Thursday night football game ..

49ers and Steelers will be earlier in the season

we will have 3 division games in December

My Guess:

1. Cowboys (Opening Night Sept, 5th)
2. @ Panthers
3. Redskins
4. @ Eagles (NFL Network Thursday Night Game)
5. @ Bengals
6. Steelers
7. @ 49ers (Monday Night)
8. Bye Week
9. Buccaneers
10. @ Falcons
11. vs Packers (Sunday Night)
12. @ Cowboys (Thanksgiving Game)
13. @ Ravens
14. Browns
15. Saints
16. @ Redskins
17. Eagles

The last 2 years we have had the Cowboys & Redskins in Week 17. I think we will probably get the Eagles this time. And of course the Giants will play more division games down the stretch.

If you look at how I made this schedule you will see that I have some AFC North & NFC South teams close by each other on the Giants schedule.

I do not know much about the schedules or how it works but wouldnt our season opener be considered our thursday game? I doubt we would get two in one year.

Correct, we won't be on Turkey Day.

No way we play in Dallas on Thanksgiving. They usually put a bad team against them because every house in America watches the game anyway. They don't need a good team for a ratings draw.

Tough schedule no matter how its laid out

It is only a Wednesday because they had to move it due to a conflict with presidential debate. It is always designed to be a Thursday game though. Just because they had to move it because of conflict does not mean it wouldn't count.

Let's worry about it when it actually comes out. But I wouldn't be surprised if we got a crazy hard schedule like you surmise.

10-6 ... we win the division as the 3rd or 4th seed.

We beat the Lions in the Wildcard round but lose to the Saints (who we beat in the regular season) at the Super Dome in the Division round of the playoffs.

I do believe that there will be a lot more division games down the stretch for the entire league from here on out. Goodell did that last season so that earlier weeks could be cancelled if need be due to the lockout without having to heavily re-align the schedule... and struck paydirt when more teams remained relevant towards the end of the season. Expect that trend to continue throughout the league, it's just good business...

Well I wasnt that far off. I had the Pathers Bucs and Browns all by week 6. I thought we would have at least 1 non divisional playoff team early, but the NFL couldnt even give us that. Awesome. See , it isnt too hard to get a good idea on how the NFL is going to set our schedule up.

We play 7 of the 10 teams who made the playoffs. Almost half the season against playoff teams.

That's what you get when you win a Super Bowl.

I'll take it.

But do they have to put those 7 playoff teams the last 7 non divisional games? Why are the first 3 against non playoff teams in the Browns, Bucs and Panthers. Its like they love seeing our second half struggles. Whoever makes this schedule year after year hates us. I read somewhere that the Giants have one of the toughest 2nd half schedules in 7 of the last 9 years. This is Coughlins 9th year with us... Coincidence?

Hey, you never know who's going to emerge and who is going to backslide. The league is so dynamic, what looks like the toughest schedule now, may not look so tough by week 6. WhoTF knows?
