PARCELLS WILL NOT COACH SAINTS (http://www.profootballweekly.com/2012/04/10/parcells-will-not-coach-saints)
"Bill Parcells will not come out of retirement to coach the Saints, according
to multiple reports.<div class="m10l m10r"><div class="story_body line ">
Parcells had been in talks with Sean Payton, whose one-year suspension for
his role in the team’s bounty program was upheld by commissioner Roger Goodell
on Monday.</p>
Parcells and Payton are close from their time together with the Cowboys.
Parcells has not coached since 2006 and was most recently in the NFL with the
Dolphins’ organization in 2010.</p>
According to ESPN, assistant head coach/linebackers Joe Vitt is the leading
candidate to be the interim head coach. The Saints begin their offseason program
on Monday.</p>
Vitt’s six-game suspension was also upheld by Goodell, but it does not begin
until after the preseason. Payton’s suspension begins Monday, April 16. If Vitt
takes over, other assistants would run the team when the season begins until
Vitt can return following the sixth game."</p></div></div>
