Good move . . . to me, the Pro Bowl is unwatchable . . .

It is unwatchable. The game has become a joke. However, I can see why some guys don't want to be laying it all out on the line. Their teams probably tell them to play as little as possible. They should replace it with some type of fun competition or something.

The Pro Bowl would get heavy spectator draw if #1... It was moved to a later date, such as May or June
and...
#2...It was moved and located around the country within the Lower 48...not somewhere most of us can't go.

I think the players would feel more inclined to play at a later point in the year and why not during the quietest part of the off-season? At the seasons end the players are burned out and could care less. I think it would increase off-season workout and minicamp attendance by these guys too!

I feel like the league is being hypocritical (what else is new). They appear that safety is their number one concern, but then they are critical of players for not playing 100% in a gimmicky, exhibition game? All they care about is money and the only reason they appear "concerned" about player safety, is because it is costing them money from these lawsuits. Scrap the game and just have a skills competition or something. Also, like hungrrrry said, have whatever all star event that they are doing in a part of the country that anyone could attend.

God I hope so.

It was never really great but its become a flat joke. Should just be an induction ceremony, skills competition and highlight clips.

They should make a loser bowl, that way Sanchez could be the starting QB for that

The best things about baseball and basketball all star weeks is the skills competitions (especially when they have pick up games, old players, and celebrities).

Rex ryan the head coach? Screw it, just have the jets play one of the top high school teams in the country every year. Now THAT would get top ratings.

I think they should seriously make it a flag football game... no pads, no helmets. You aren't going to get hard hits anyway, so why not embrace it? It is a celebration of the player's achievements (and a vacation). Why should they pretend like it is the super bowl? They should also move it back to the week after the super bowl, so that the super bowl winners have a chance to gloat a bit. I would also like to see a skills competition.

They should keep the "Pro-Bowl".

Just turn it into a bowling competition.

Seriously, the Pro-Bowl has always been a joke and unwatchable. But back in the day, the selection process really rewarded good players. I guess AP 1st and 2nd team honors are enough for me nowadays, as I don't care about who gets into the Pro-Bowl.

I suppose they are worried about ACL's injuries. Remember Robert Edwards during the beach football game? He ruined his career.

why have a game or have to get voted in?

guys who think they are the fastest in the league, show up and race.

Guys who think they can make the most one handed catches in a row show up.

guys who think they are the strongest in the league show up and put down on the bench

Like a combine but for current NFL players.

I'm sure the ratings for the combine and the draft are far better than the Pro Bowl.

the game has become a joke

but there are still plenty of ways to create entertainment

for all but the Super Bowl team fans ... it's the last chance they get to see their star player(s)

maybe a round robin flag football, like 7 on 7 or 5 on 5 competition

maybe some type of rookie competition

FG dunking contest

TD celebration contest

hottest player wife/gf pagent

something, anything, just no more silly pretend game

I may have mentioned this before, but I believe the NFL could do something in conjunction with the Senior Bowl to create an attractive event. You already have NFL coaches for the game and a large number of scouts and coaches from around the league are there. Maybe some skills competitions, an NFL "Pro Bowler" as a one-on-one coach for each Senior Bowl player. I obviously don't have a real scheme to offer up, but doing something in conjunction with the Senior Bowl that honors the Pro Bowl players makes sense to me.

How about old timers day? Like the Yankees do every year. That way Brett Favre could still live out his dream of still being a QB. Sure that's probably the one way you could make the game even slower, but imagine the nostalgia...

I'd like to see a bunch of quarterbacks line up to see who can throw the farthest. Maybe have Michael Vick race Cam Newton

I dont blame the players for going easy regarding the Pro Bowl. I wuldnt put it all on the line either.

Make it fun ... like it was supposed to be. I have no probs with them playing flag football. They kill themselves enough getting paid for it.

They should keep the Pro Bowl, and just incentivize the hell out of it.....come up with a ton of money for various stats, and let the players that want to make money abuse the slackers.

$1 million per sack would be a good start.

i wouldn't mind seeing them out of their element. Like playing full court basketball. You have the dline vs the oline. That'd be hysterical.

Well I thought the Pro Bowl would serve as a good template for the NFL to use if they want to continue to turn the game into a pass-happy wonderland.

CBs must be at least 5 yards off the WR, no blitzing the QB, etc..

Oh that's right, this (bleep!) is unwatchable. Take a hint NFL!

I think it'd be cool to have an NFL "Olympics"

Have each team/fans select who they want to represent their team in a range of games like: QB accuracy challenge, bench press, 40 yard dash, WR challenge, etc etc...

Let each team participate, give points for placement, and have a medal ceremony at the end.

The Pro Bowl would have been a great ambassadorial move for the NFL if it went to other states or cities that didn't have the NFL.

My area I live in we have Carolina about 8 hours away, the Giants a bit further north. The closest teams we have are the Ravens and the Redskins...but no one actually here in Virginia.

Just the money the Pro Bowl would generate by showcasing NFL players to us heathens and players dropping money into our economy would help tremendously. Especially since we have a huge transient/military population.
