Giants.com has reported that the Giants WR corp. will not be without the #82 for very long. Because 2nd round draft pick rookie WR Rueben Randle has taken Mario Manningham's old # of 82.

Looks like our 3rd WR will STILL wear the #82 even though Manningham is now gone.

Not a surprise he took 82. There are not many WR numbers left.

I feel like the Giants are throwing this in my face, Interesting how the Giants give their rookies WR #'s , with Jernigan he was suppose to be the replacement for Steve Smith and he was given #12 and be now rueben comin in as in replacement for MM and getting number 82.

Are you sure they assigne them numbers. I would imagine the rookies are told what numbers are available and then they get to pick.

No, he's not. But he will be given every chance to win the spot. And it seems like the FO expects him to fill that role.

Makes sense considering Randle's college number was #2...

Would have preferred #19 (still think that's a cool number for a WR) but...82 it is.

I really think we'll forget Manningham faster than we "forgot" Smith.

Only reason we didn't miss Smith was because the emergence of Cruz. If Randle is half of Cruz, it would be a good start.

So he's already been given the #3 spot ay? He better learn to get open. At this point he's gonna run his route tree covered like a blanket.

Luckily for him, the Giants might have a decent receiver or two to draw some attention.

Randle is very smooth and route savvy but he is still coming from a very run based Offense. He will have a learning curve. Should be intersting to see who emerges as the 3rd guy early in the season. They seem set on Cruz playing inside or I think Jernigan would have a better chance.Barden better show up this season or this will be his last in the NFL

i wouldnt say this is likely, or even probable, but Randle could very well be on the same level w nicks and cruz given some time...

don't forget, before TC became a HC, he was a WR coach...thats why Im confident in Randle, TC and JR signed off on him, with JR and Ross along with Cosell saying Randle is very similar to Nicks...and that he'll be a quick learn and should contribute early...

It seems like the norm now with the team giving away old numbers to the new blood.. JJ12, RR82, Wilson might get 27.

actually the only WR # available at the moment is 19

granted a lot of the guys wearing these numbers won't be on the roster....but I thought it was interesting that only one eligible number is available at the moment

well he's already 3 times as smart as mario. randle scored an 18 on his wonderlic vs. marios 6.

seriously... this guy will be like another hakeem with speed and size. he played in a pro style offense so the learning curve will be shorter. i'll bet he will win that 3rd spot from DH, JJ and RB at the start of the season.
