I'm gonna say 21 Sacks for the Big Blue Monstrosity!

He should get about 12 sacks. Teams may try to get rid of the ball faster.

If they do that I won't complain....rushing a play means higher risk of throwing a pick/pick 6 I'll take that :D

Then the question is, how many pics will our secondary have? Either way he will be big.

The final number almost doesn't matter, because regardless of circumstance, JPP's presence will hurt the opponent's offense.

If he doesn't get a sack, he'll get a hurry or knock down.

If he doesn't get those, he'll get a batted ball--which eventually will result in a pick or two.

If he doesn't get anything because of effective double or triple teaming, Osi will get to the QB.

If not Osi, Tuck will gut the middle.

It's more likely JPP will have a couple less sacks this year, but his presence will be MORE destructive to opponents' offenses than last year.

I think Tuck leads the team in sacks this year all due because of JPP getting triple teamed!

Strahan's career sack records show alternating up and down years especially in the 2nd half of his career, I'm going to predict the same for JPP. I'd say maybe by year 5 he will have a monster year threatening the team and NFL single season sack records.

Starting from 1993 for Strahan:
1
4.5
7.5
5
14
15
5
9.5
22.5
11

4
11.5

Totally agree. Number doesn't matter. His notoriety alone will go lengths. And once teams start game planning against him. He will get hungrier for sacks and therefore better. He has so much upside in front of him. His legend will get tuck and osi more sacks this year than him. It is a win/win situation..

NyDailynews article few days before SB:

The more Robert Nunn ponders it, the more the Giants’ defensive line
coach is baffled. Jason Pierre-Paul doesn’t have a single go-to
pass-rush move.

“He doesn’t have a great move,” Nunn says. “Most
pass-rushers that are effective do something that’s very, very good. He
just reacts to whatever he gets.”

Nunn shakes his head as he says
this, marveling at how much the precocious Pierre-Paul has done with so
little experience and fundamental knowledge. Despite the lack of moves,
the second-year defensive end has already emerged as one of the
league’s most feared pass-rushers. He led the Giants with 16.5 sacks —
fourth-best in the league — and made 86 tackles.

http://articles.nydailynews.com/images/pixel.gif

http://articles.nydailynews.com/images/pixel.gif

And Nunn says the defensive end who wasn’t supposed to develop until
next season should be one of the front-runners for the league’s
Defensive Player of the Year award. The winner will be announced
Saturday night.

“I can’t compare him to any other position, but
if it goes to a defensive lineman, it should be he or (San Francisco’s)
Justin Smith,” says Nunn. “They have set themselves apart.”

It’s
something “JPP” was supposed to do next season, not this year, Nunn
says. The coaching staff expected Pierre-Paul to simply “work into the
rotation” this season, apprenticing under the deepest collection of ends
in the league. He was supposed to improve his nonexistent work habits,
learn to get on a regular weight-room schedule to make his
already-bulging biceps pop some more.

He was supposed to
gradually learn their moves. Dave Tollefson has the stab-slap, a quick
move that throws an offensive lineman’s hands out of the way, and Osi
Umenyiora has the edge rush that leads to the strip sack.

It wouldn't shock me if his sack number increases next year.

A lot of JPP's sacks were effort sacks. QB's held the ball for 5 seconds or longer

I bet 72 leads the team in sacks this year if he stays healthy. He will be playing for his last contract whether he signs with us or someone else.

Plus the first order in every opponent's offensive game plan will be JPP.

I'd be happy with 10 plus honestly. His game is much more than sacks.
