It seemed to me the Giants started going vertical in the JF/KC era. It seems like the Giants went from Lumbering Tank, to Tomahawk Missiles.

Question- As great as BBWC were. If the Giants of the Eighties were on the 20 Yd line, with under 2 minutes to go in a Playoff game, would they win it ?

It was different rules in the 80s. They would not be used to playing by today's rules, and so would not win. Defensive penalties would be the difference.

However neither Simms nor Hoss could do what Eli does in the final minutes of games

The Giants WRs are feared and respected throughout the NFL. But it seemed for decades we would never get another Pro-Bowl worthy WR. During the eighties and ninetys we would hear annonoucers snicker about Giant wideouts. All we had to hang our hat on was Homer Jones.

Not so fast.. There were seveal 2 min comebacks in the 80s.
Anyone remember John Elway?

you don't win 2 Super Bowls without being clutch, but our 80s clutch was more of a team clutch

causing Roger Craig to fumble ... Matt Bahr being so accurate ... remember Mark Ingram twisting and spining his way to a clutch 1st down vs. the Bills ... need to watch all those key games again ....

and in the playoffs leading up to our Super Bowl 21 victory we outscored our opponents 105-40 in just 3 games .... that's 35 ppg and no need for any clutchness

49-3 over the all world Niners and holding the mighty (at the time Redskins) to a big goose egg ... that's a form of clutch

but Eli is one of the most clutch QBs i've seen and that includes Montana and Elway
