MARK HERZLICH: "I'M ABLE TO PLAY AT THIS LEVEL" (http://www.bigblueview.com/2012/7/31/3205501/mark-herzlich-chase-blackburn-training-camp-tom-coughlin-middle-linebacker)

Excerpt: "In early July, Giants.com (http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Herzlich-preps-for-camp-competition/e2101711-0aa0-46ba-a5c9-eb452040ca19) reported New York Giants middle linebacker Mark Herzlich was at the Timex Performance Center four days a week to keep up his training. Herzlich had one mission on his mind: winning the starting role.

“I definitely think I can – that’s my goal,” Herzlich said. “That’s why I’m here every day working, to try to get that job. It’s all a competition. I think the good thing about the Giants is they want to win and I think whoever gives them the opportunity to win will be able to start at that position. For me right now, it is just learning the plays and knowing them, as well as I can so that way I can go in and let my play speak for itself.” Read more...

if herz can be the guy he was before the cancer incident, we will have a top 5 mlb easy. guy was THAT promising...

Its hard to beleive no teams thought he was worth a late round draft pick. Going undrafted probably just adds to his motivation.

Guess he is reverting back to his college days with the mohawk and the "Road Warriors" eye paint.

I'm pulling for this guy.

hope he can blow us all away with a good camp and preseason but he has to earn it. Let's all hope for some young guys to show up this year.
