I'm beginning to wonder if Prince can take the rigors of an NFL season. There was nothing particularly violent or freakish about the way his body contacted the turf or the opponent.

Hope he can play, he seems like he's going to be a good one if he can get on the field.

If you watched him at Nebraska he always played physical and balls out...His biggest strength imo was definitely his physicality. He's def not soft but I think Coughlin may have warned the team before the game if anything arises to be precautious and tell the trainers.

I don't really think he wants anymore preseason injuries and wants to take all the proper cautions.

Guys tear their ACLs just running a straight line. It happens. Prince virtually had no injury history in college. It doesn't magically change when he gets promoted to the NFL.

X-rays negative just means no broken bones. It's a high ankle sprain, just reported. See ya in 4 - 6 weeks Prince. JR, thanks for choosing a guy with two ACL'S over Aaron Ross.

GMan-67
08-24-2012, 10:03 PM
well everyone on this board wanted Ross gone and Ross felt he earned the right to start, so you can't criticize the organization for that one, but yeah we wil now certainly miss him

Someone else said they thought it was from the play before. You know on the play where he didn't get up, he was anything but soft. That was a very nice tackle on a very physical WR. Hopefully it is mild and he is back in a couple of weeks. Maybe for the opener.

Severe high ankle sprains always result in some sort of fracture when the tendon pulls on the shin bone. Don't know what a mild one does, but I'm guessing it probably felt like a break you don't want to put pressure on.

I am also guessing that the medical staff was taking no chances....they probably insisted on the cart in case there was any chance of a break

I still don't understand how we let Ross go after finally getting some productive chemistry established in the secondary last season! Reese bet all his marbles on Amukamara and now it looks like he's going to amount to nothing more than an injury prone bust!

jimmie ray

He's not getting hurt clocking anyone, so that's more of the concern. They need to intimidate beyond the front four and occasionally at linebacker.

I am glad that the Xrays came back negative on Prince. But of course he has the dreaded High ankle sprain, some that can linger for a while.

And though I'm pulling for Prince to become that CB that he is capable of in the NFL, how in the heck does he get hurt on that tackle of Marshall? I mean I watched the replay of the tackle several times, I can't see how he would of sprained it by tackling Marshall?

I sure hope he is not becoming one of these fragile, "made of glass" type players. So from what I have read from other posters---Prince could miss 3 to 6 weeks?
