Just finished re-watching America's Game for the 2007 Giants, and it was glorious. Beautifully put together and such an incredibly moving story. And the best part? America's Game for the 2011 Giants premieres on NFL Network in 15 minutes! For those of you who haven't seen America's Game before, this is something you won't want to miss!

Good show but the ending was some corny ish....(Cruz salsa's at the grammy's)....(Eli joins other elite QB's to host SNL)..

And it was going so good till they ended it on that note....lol

I don't think it was as good as the last one. Obviously I love the inside stories but I feel like they glossed over the season. Like the first cowboys game, Eli scores we win the game cut to skins game. JPP's play and FG block were not mentioned at all. I know they are pressed for time and have to cut stuff out but some stuff should have to be there.

Overall I'm not pissed, of course its nitpicking but I felt the last one told more of the story. I was still entertained though.

Whoa, wait I DVRed it and started it over. the 2011 Americas game actually came on at 9. Then within 30seconds it just switched to this other show?? Weird. Really disappointed was looking forward to watching it

agreed. the "what happened after" are hard to do now since all you have to go off of is the off-season.

It was good, but not better than 2007. I honestly think Strahan was the one that made the 2007 version so great. He was hilarious. This one was good, but didn't have that comical presence.

I also felt like most of the "behind-the-scenes-footage" was footage we've seen before, right from Giants.com. Other than that though, it was good. Reliving last season again is always sweet. Makes me pumped for the game tomorrow night!

How on earth did they leave out the JPP block against Dallas? Terribly put together...

Overdrive92
09-04-2012, 11:13 PM
To those who missed it, yes, it was on at 9:00 PM. There are no re-airings anytime soon. They probably won't re-air it again until after the DVD comes out, that way those of you who missed it will have to sucker in and buy their product.

Try checking YouTube tomorrow, maybe someone will have uploaded it.

I know it's only a 1-hour show but I wish we could hear some thoughts from other key players like Nicks, JPP, or Manningham.

As mentioned above, I'm shocked they didn't key in on the JPP blocked FG against Dallas.

Cool to see some behind the scenes stuff I never heard or seen like:

1. The motivational speech by the Airforce pilots.
2. The Eli text to Cruz to practice in the pre-season.
3. An actual video of the Jets player covering the SB murals.

I was also a little disappointed how they just skipped the entire first half of the season. They jump right to our comeback against the Patriots in Week 9, but don't mention a single game before that.

I agree...Not mentioning JPP AT ALL in the show was kind of a slap in the face to him. He was a HUGE instrumental piece in the Giants being the team they were. Without him they don't win anything.

They still are showing it as 9CST as of right now if you hit info or guide. Someone screwed up so they better rerun it in this area again for the people that missed it

Obviously there were too many things to put in a 40 minute special....specially in a season with so many new surprises. I think they did an overall great job and it was fun to watch.

Now for what I really care about.....FOOTBALL!!!!!!! Less than 24 hours!!!

It was pretty good. Of course as a fan I have some nitpicks. Didn't like that Nicks or JPP were pretty much neglected. I also wich they mentioned Blackburn coming from being a teacher to the football field and having a big hand in the run they went on. They also skipped over chunks of the season but they covered the last 6 games very well. Overall I really liked it. I thought Tuck had some great insight especially like with the chip and all the injuries he was suffering.

+1.....

This pretty much sums up how I feel. I liked the speech TC gave about finishing, the Air Force pilot speech, and the moments captured when Cruz score the TD vs. the Jets and in the NFCCG. The 2007 Giants America's Game as much better IMO.

It was extremely disturbing to sit there and not mention or see the following things:

1. JPP (most notably his Dallas game)
2. Brandon Jacobs (and his TD run to seal the GB game)
3. Hakeem Nicks (overall, he wasn't mentioned much and he was an absolute beast)
4. The Chase Blackburn story

Great points.

Also, why no:

1. Highlight of the Domenik Hixon TD that tore his ACL against the Rams?
2. No Bear Pascoe TD against San Fran?
3. Why no mention of the similarities of the '90 NFC Championship game (YOU KNOW NFLN AND ESPN WOULD'VE MADE A HUGE ORDEAL HAD THE NINERS PLAYED THE COWBOYS IN THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP! THEY'D BE SHOWING MONTANA TO CLARK AND THE AIKMAN VS. STEVE YOUNG BATTLES DURING THE 90'S HAD THE TWO TEAMS MET LAST YEAR IN THE NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME)

You guys have to remember..it's only 1 hour to try and cover 16 regular season games and then the playoffs. They can't fit all of it in.
Overall I thought it was pretty good. Wish they would have focused on JPP. They didn't mention one thing at all.

GiantWarfare
09-05-2012, 01:42 AM
Was decent IMO, would've been awesome had they even uttered JPP's name...smh. How do you possibly leave him out I have no idea. Not one mention? That in itself is a travesty, he, Eli, and Cruz were the glue that held last year's squad together. Nicks deserves a huge shoutout too...he had a beastly playoffs...

But all in all it was pretty entertaining to relive some of the memorable moments of last season. BTW Cruz is probably the easiest guy to root for in all of sports, the kid's story and rise to stardom + his personality/charisma makes for a very likeable player.

Anyway, I'm even more pumped for tonight. Feeling jittery!

I was a little disappointed with this America's Game. I felt like they glossed over a lot, maybe it was because they used 4 people instead of the usual 3. They barely introduced the super bowl, next thing you know Cruz was scoring the TD, nothing about the safety. Then Welker was dropping the pass. They skipped a lot of the regular season too but did slow it down a bit when they got to the first cowboys game.

I have to rewatch it on "on demand" without all the freaking commercials, but I agree with most of the posts here. It was nice. Some good moments. I especially like the part when Cruz scored that TD against the Jets and came off the field saying "You know me now" or was it "he knows me now' aimed at Revis.

It was ok. Paled in comparison to the last one, but I think it's hard for them when it's a team that has won recently to make it as good. Plus, beating the undefeated Patriots has a certain feel to it that can't be matched.

SweetZombieJesus

Not even close to being as epic as the last one.

I'm starting to think they should wait 5 years before making these, to get the perspective of time and tell us something more interesting about the players than they helped design the ring or appeared on SNL.

When you look at Parcells getting wistful about his teams, or OJ talking about his depressed state, it's made sweeter with time and distance.
