Hope he doesn't get hurt, know he's a Cowboy and a Giant killer but I don't want to see him get killed trying to play football.

So Nicks' injury is part of the Giants' plan? Come on. This board always assumes conspiracy.

can't believe witten is active, nor can some physicians with whom i've spoken. i hope the cowboys' doctors got it right.

I get what you're saying, but it's pretty different:

The Giants always said Nicks would be playing, NIcks himself said it.

The Cowboys listed Witten as doubtful, and said he'd play if he was cleared by the doctors on Tuesday. He obviously was cleared, and should have been upgraded from doubtful when that happened.

Either way, it doesn't matter. I'm sure the Giants prepared as if he'd be there

Just about everybody is picking the Giants to win.

Personally, I think it is really stupid of the Cowboys to take this risk. I have no great love for them or their players, but I hope that he doesn't suffer serious complications.

The Cowboys have a secondary now. Big difference.

Should be a good game.

Should be a good game.you guys have to look at your secondary as a whole your safeties are not exactly good and the Giants have added pieces as well every division game is tough I'm just saying doesn't really make a difference if he plays or not. If he winds up getting hurt for the rest of the season that will be a huge mistake by him and the Cowboys.

Just about everybody is picking the Giants to win. Really from what I heard it's pretty much split down the middle and the only reason why they picked the Giants cause they thought Witten wasn't playing.I bet they would change their picks now.

Im not saying Kenny Phillips should hit Witten in the spleen but Kenny Phillips should stick his helmet into Jason Wittens spleen

I honestly feel scared for Witten, a lacerated spleen is no hammy... but hey if he suits up hes declaring battle

No prisoners! No Mercy!

I share that sentiment. Im gonna cringe everytime he takes a big hit

with Witten i think Jerry Jones is making that call. the head coach had no "say so" in this issue imo!

TC wouldve never permitted one of his main guys to play after a serious injury dealing with the spleen. just my two cents.

One good hit and he is probably done.

I hope his spleen doesn't die out there... though it'd be funny because it would totally be his own fault he got hurt.

You know Rolle and Phillips are licking their chops about hitting him in the side and lower back now...

One good hit and he is probably done.

Which is why it is almost borderline psychotic to go out there. An injury like that is life threatening.

The Cowboys are challenging the idea that the season is a marathon. They are convinced its a sprint and will risk their ALL Pro's TE for the season over 1 game

this could end up getting JG fired...how do u play a guy coming off a lacerated spleen 2 weeks ago??? ARE THEY ******ED?

he wasnt cleared. he said he'd sign a medical waiver sheet relieving dallas from any liability according to espn...one shot to a vulnerable area that cant really be protected and he's donezo, rushed to the ER. wow...the poster who said dallas is going by the "the season is a sprint, not a marathon" mentality is right, risking witten for the season on opening day when if he'd wait til week 2, he'd be much safer

Typical selfish needs, losing one game isn't going to ruin their season. If they lose Witten, that might just ruin their season honestly...

Only the Cowboys are dumb enough to risk an All Pro in Week 1. They have 10 days off after this 2 get healthy. I dont want him to get hurt but I almost want to see it so I can laugh at just how foolish they were. u think the Giants would risk Victor Cruz for 1 game?
