While the pro bowl would be nice, I'm sure Eli cares more about having the respect of his teammates. And that is something he surely accomplished this year.

Eli will go to the probowl this year.

I'm surprised NY isn't representing though...for shame.

And Eli has had the respect of his teamates for a long time now.

If fans aren't watching the Giants games, they don't know what kind of year he's having. On the Colts board it was being argued yesterday that Eli is good, but you can't consider him elite since we have such a strong rushing game and defense....lol

That would be ludicrous!

Because perception becomes reality. The sad fact is that most so called analysts do that. If you ever listen throughout the day to different people you will hear not only the same type of BS but the same exact words.

Seems many do not have the intellectual honesty to do there own work. Wether you agree or disagree with them. I mean if you come at me w/facts to prove your point then I can respect it and you may change my mind, but many just throw it out there and then everyone runs with it.

Tebow shouldn't be on the ballot for voting, because he wasn't a projected starter, Cruz and JPP won't see the probowl this season since they weren't projected starters at the beginning of the season yet Tebow is on the ballot getting votes lol, the NFL..Cruz could end up with 1400 yards and 10 TDs and will be passed up because of some ****ty rule...

I don't understand what makes it so difficult to change the ballot, either, as it's all online.

However, situations like Denver and Minnesota are a little different. The QBs that started the season for those teams are no longer on those rosters, and in the case of McNabb, he isn't even on a roster. Things like that necessitate a modification.

I was wondering about this also! How did Tebow end up on the ballot? He was not a projected starter in the beginning of the season. Orton was Denver's starter, yet he mysteriously wound up on the ballot. Hmmm! I so tired of this Tim Tebow bs!

Now now thats assumption, and we need proof.. links, secret tape or videos of said players saying so can prove such assumptions.

As I said, more so then not it comes from perception, right or wrong. And it seems in general they are usually wrong.

i find it hilarious that rosie is pulling a harooni after super bowl 42.

the whole "i'm going to make fun of the people who were right for being right because i was wrong. i'll mock them for discussing eli and actually realizing how good he is when i couldn't. even though i talk about eli more than the people i make fun of for talking about eli, i'll still deflect how horribly wrong i was by posting irrelevant, off topic pictures and issues. when I continuously erroneously discussed eli and was proven wrong, i'll just now focus on people praising eli and somehow say they should be made fun of because of it."

i got love for harooni bc he at least countlessly admitted he was dead wrong. flat our dead wrong. you on the other hand, deflect any warranted criticism by suggesting that it doesnt matter that you were wrong and some how you are still right (in your fantasy world)

i know this is an instance where i shouldnt even but in, but how the **** are you posting pics of mrs doubtfire and mocking the very people who have proven to know more about football than you by simply recognizing the talent of a player. your whole spiel is old, i know i know "can i say omaha" or "its flattering you talk about me" or whatever it is your going to say...but i'd love for u to prove me wrong and just flat out admit "i was dead wrong about eli" and not have any condescending remark about how it doesnt really matter, and that some how I'm wrong for choosing to talk about eli manning on the giants mb.

What, you think I have trouble admitting when I'm wrong? I've been married for over 20 years. So I've been wrong a very long time.

It's funny to think that if one criticizes a player for under-performing, and then that player ups his level of play, that somehow the person who criticized him is now wrong. WTF is that?

In 2006 and early 2007 I said that Corey Webster was the worst CB on our team. He couldn't cover and he wouldn't or couldn't tackle. He just downright sucked. As the year went he suddenly became a player and then became "the man" during the playoffs. The Giants then rewarded him with a big-time contract. So was I wrong for saying what I said?

I don't think so, and here's my offer to prove you wrong.

You (or anybody else) show me or quote me on one thing I've ever said about Eli that was wrong and I'll apologize and admit I was wrong. End of story.

i find it hilarious that rosie is pulling a harooni after super bowl 42. the whole "i'm going to make fun of the people who were right for being right because i was wrong. i'll mock them for discussing eli and actually realizing how good he is when i couldn't. even though i talk about eli more than the people i make fun of for talking about eli, i'll still deflect how horribly wrong i was by posting irrelevant, off topic pictures and issues. when I continuously erroneously discussed eli and was proven wrong, i'll just now focus on people praising eli and somehow say they should be made fun of because of it." i got love for harooni bc he at least countlessly admitted he was dead wrong. flat our dead wrong. you on the other hand, deflect any warranted criticism by suggesting that it doesnt matter that you were wrong and some how you are still right (in your fantasy world) i know this is an instance where i shouldnt even but in, but how the **** are you posting pics of mrs doubtfire and mocking the very people who have proven to know more about football than you by simply recognizing the talent of a player. your whole spiel is old, i know i know "can i say omaha" or "its flattering you talk about me" or whatever it is your going to say...but i'd love for u to prove me wrong and just flat out admit "i was dead wrong about eli" and not have any condescending remark about how it doesnt really matter, and that some how I'm wrong for choosing to talk about eli manning on the giants mb.

lol...i can reemember dozens of instances after the redskins game and rams game alone where you made idiotic, horrible, rash judgements of eli. cmon now, i've even been wrong about eli on some things and im what some would consider a homer.

now "you've never even been wrong"? LMFAO.

basically, your entire outlook and attitude about eli has been wrong, dead wrong. your so disillusioned that you probably truly believe you've been accurate when discussing eli...LMFAO.

for starters, you were going on and on about how eli was not a qb who could win games single handidly, you said he was not an elite qb, you've questioned if he was truly a franchise qb or worth it to be our franchise qb, you've mocked people (including myself) when prior to the season we said eli would have an amazing season and break into that elite status, you've maintained for some time now that "eli just wasnt a very good qb" but when he played well this year you changed your tune awfully quickly and some how went "he listened to me bc now he is good" (when really he's been awesome since the 07 playoff run)

I mean its not a matter of you saying "Eli played college at LSU" and have been wrong, its basically just been your entire outlook/stance of eli that has been way off. Don't you find it odd that eli had to play at the level of top 3 qb for you to finally cave in and give him just a little bit of credit? you and others like gumby were always so quick to jump on him for a mistake or bad game, always so quick to "be that guy" who would go "we gave up draft picks and moved up for him?" and along those lines of just not paying the man the respect he had earned long before this season.

to top it off, you actually ridicule posters who have never waivered on there support and belief of what eli could do. somehow turning there correct loyalty into some sort of negative flaw that you would make fun of.

like, didnt you make the post "we should stop talking about eli" or "please, no one talk about eli" after the first eagles game or something when eli was playing really well and you were telling people they shouldnt talk about him and if they did they were worthy of being made fun of?
and dont try to deny it, you did do that and you tried to use the "we all know elis playing well theres no reason to discuss it'"

LIKE WHAT?? LMFAO. YOU WERE LITERALLY UPSET WITH HOW WELL ELI PLAYED BC U KNEW IT MEANT PEOPLE ON A GIANTS MB WOULD BE HAPPY TO DISCUSS THE SEVERAL GREAT THINGS HE WAS DOING AND THAT MAKES YOU SICK, LMFAO.

before everyone is on the "eli is elite" in the media, you were telling people how wrong they were for saying he was elite and made joke after joke about the whole eli fans saying he was elite. and again, you did the whole "dont talk about eli on a giants MB people" and if posters did, ud make fun of em.

cmon now man, "show me a post where i was wrong and i'll admit it"...no one needs you to admit nothing, we all know you've been dead wrong concerning eli. on other topics, u r very knowledgeable, i guess thats what makes ur opinion of eli stick out like a sore thumb, bc it was just so off. its more of "admit you were wrong" to gain back some credibility, which u lost in my book, bc u literally believe you havent been wrong once in regards to eli.

but honestly i dont care im moving on. i doubt u honestly care, why should u? why should i? just know, u start calling out the posters who had debated you about eli and proved victorious and start posting honestly unfunny pictures and go "which one reminds me of you" there will be posters like me who havent quite forgotten all the ridiculous claims and mockery you committed.

take care, go gmen, and honestly im not trying to get into it with you, in virtually EVERY other aspect of football, i have to admit you are very smart and probably know more than a lot of posters here on certain subjects myself included. but on the whole eli thing...u've been wrong, just flat out wrong. just bc the past few weeks u may have given eli some credit doesnt erase how before everyone is on the eli bandwagon how quick u were to try and throw others off it

C'mon man, you really expect me to respond to all that?

Yes I was all over Eli after the Redskin game and yes I think he played like crap for at least half the Rams game. And you know what, he knew he played poorly and so did every beat writer. How many times did we hear "I have to play better"? And let's keep in mind he came off 2010 with about 31 turnovers, and looked like utter crap in preseason - not even throwing one TD pass. In the Redskin game he didn't throw a TD pass as well and was picked once.

So what, am I supposed to praise him for that? But just because I was or are critical of him doesn't mean I wasn't routing for him or didn't want him to do well, or don't like him even. So you are way off base. You truly think I don't want him to do well? WTF is that? If he does well, the Giants do well. You'd have to be really messed up to think something like that.

You guys need to stop internalizing the critique of this quarterback. Phil Simms is now a Giant hero. You think he was treated like he his now throughout his career? **** no. The fans were brutal. When he played like crap he heard it, and when he played great he was cheered. Welcome to the life of an NFL quarterback in New York.

The issue of Eli Manning has always been the circumstances in which he came here. When a team gives up a lot to get you, the fans are going to expect and demand more from you. That's the bottom line. Eli may have been the golden boy at Ole Miss, but here in New York he was nothing except a player who cost us 4 draft picks. He better be worth it.

And BTW I thought the Omaha and Mrs Doubtire pics were good. They both captured the spirit of Robby C so well. He just gushes with love for his baby.

Sorry I just can't get into that, and it has nothing to do with Eli. Someday maybe you realize it's been that way all along.

I'm with you all the way Rosie. Up until this point, NOBODY besides homer Eli fans has been putting him in the class of the elites. Were they all clueless? I know over a dozen credible sources that didn't see him in the class as Brady when Eli said he was. I guess everybody in the world was wrong besides RC, 420 and some other homers? I wouldn't even waste my time debating with em or reading their essays on this matter. You can't win with them.

I hear ya Burner but the truth is there a lot of guys who probably consider themselves homers but are reasonable and you can talk to. Guys like MMB for example. So I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and try to reason with them first. Once you find the person is incapable of reasoning or debating then it just becomes a game.

As for Eli being elite, I think that is a bit premature. While he is amongst the best this year, it takes more then one great season to be considered elite.

After watching Eli's 2010 season, this pre-season, and the first game and a half, I was afraid that he wasn't going to be the guy we saw in the playoffs in 2007, the QB we had for most of 2008, and the QB we saw in 2009 when he wasn't hurt.

I apologize to all the homers for that.

How was that? Good?

That's a half a crow at best.

The2010 season included over 4000 yards and 31 TD's, bu all you could see and talk about was the INT's. Your comments for the past year or more significantly lacked perspective, especially for a so called Giants fan.

Good first try eating crow though, but you need to clean your plate.
