Giants' Will Beatty sad he's ready to reclaim starting job at Left Tackle

Excerpt: "For the first time in a long while, Will Beatty wasn't a name on the Giants' injury report today. Beatty, who had been hampered by a back injury, practiced today without limitations and split time between the first-and second-teams.

Beatty thought he was ready to start at left tackle in the season opener against the Dallas Cowboys, but Sean Locklear got the call. Instead, Beatty saw playing time only as a jumbo tight end. Now the ball is in the coaching staff's court." Read more...

It sounds as though they may ease him back since he practicing with the ones and twos. But if he can handle LT and we van get Locklear installed at RT we should see some improvement in the OLine

He should be replacing David Stinky Diehl. But then again we still don't know how good Lacklear is, but we sure as hell know how bad David Diehl is.

Locklear was rated at # 11 in protection while Diehl was, well not so much

I think if they win it all or Eli ends up with around the lowest sack numbers in the league, Eli should foot the bill for each O-lineman a new mattress or bed.

I hope he eventually gets over all the injuries and becomes a strong contributor on our O-line. I'm rooting for the UCONN kid. He was a stud in college blocking for Donald Brown.

Im tired of people calling Beatty soft. If he is that means our entire team is soft. He deals with osi and jpp and does a great job.First all big east in college.Honorable All American mention his last year in college etc. You get out there and see how soft you are and if you can handle him. Get off the soft stuff, His in the NFl.

Let's hope so. That whole group should be embarassed with how they played last week. They better come out with a major chip on their shoulders on Sunday.

this. We need ALL the help we can get, but dude can't stay healthy. Let's just try to get all we can out of him while we can get it.

Beatty was actually very good last year before his injury. Not a dominat run blocker, but very good at pass blocking. I'll take it.

the reason they held him out so long was to ensure the back wouldnt be an issue moving forward. they are doing the same thing with Austin. I have to assume he should be fine bc the giants were worried about him and if they say he is 100% he is 100%. they wouldnt rush him back, not TC's style. (altho he does display frustration with the length of some injuries)

This is good but only if it means Diehl is on the bench with Locklear at RT. if not the improvement is minimal

Alternatively we could start Beatty at RT and let Locklear continue to be LT until Beatty can ease back into playing the game...

You took the words right out of my mouth. Leave Locklear where he is. Anything that gets Diehl off this line. Then it's time to look at the guy who's impersonating a center. There may be hope for this line, if Diehl and Bass are removed.
