Giants for some reason play better Away from home... Going back to the 07 SB winning season they lost game 1 on road to dallas and then reeled off 7 Away wins in a row for a 7-1 mark and for good measure 4 more road wins in playoffs and SB for an amazing 11 Road wins in a row (Thus named "ROAD WARRIORS") now i know SB is Neutral but it counts as an away game in record books. we were only 3-5 at home that season.

2011--- we went 5-4 at Home(includes home playoff win over falcons) and 8-3 on the Road including playoffs and SB

2010--- we had identical 5-3 records at home and on Road and went 10-6 and no playoffs

2009-- we had identical 4-4 records at home and on road and went 8-8

2008-- we had a great home record of 7-2 (but the 2nd loss was the home playoff to philly and only 5-3 on road and 12-5 overall)

2006--- we had a 3-5 home and a 5-3 away record for an 8-8 season

2005--- we had a 7-2 home record again with the 2nd loss being a crusing playoff loss to carolina, we were 4-4 on road for 11-6 overall

7 seasons == 42-21 on the Road (21games over .500.. for double the amount of away losses)
7 seasons == 34-25 at home (counting the home opening loss to dallas 34-26 for only 8games over .500)
overall 76-46 in 7 yrs and 2 SB wins

My theory is that the players love to hear boos. Only way to get em at home is to play like **** and only way to get em on the road is to play well.

If I am figuring that correctly they won about 65% of their away games over that span. Or is it more?

Also 76-46 or 30 games over .500 overall is pretty done good as well. I wouldnt think to many teams have a better record then that over the same time span. Maybe the patriots for sure. Steelers. Colts?

Is this suggesting I'm lucky for playing you guys in your stadium? I guess boos are going to more exciting than crickets.

Well, being that I am Greg Schiano, the newly appointed head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, I didn't realize we lost to you guys in the wild card of 07...

There's nothing like going into someone else's house with their fans booing you and beating them.....

Last years Philly, NE, and Dallas road wins were sooooo delicious. Not to mention the road wins in the playoffs.

This is a great stat, but Its a real stickler for the fans. We get to see more losses than wins..IN OUR HOUSE. What kind of crap is that, NYG?

The stats don't tell the whole story. It's worse than that. The team not only wins more on the road but plays better on the road and they play poorly at home, win or lose. For example last year, how can a team go to Foxboro, Green Bay, San Fransisco and win in three of the toughest stadiums in the NFL? But lose to Seattle and Washington at home? Even the loss in SF was one of their better played games. They just play better on the road. The Packers game at home was the exception. They should have won that game.

This is not even a new problem. This goes all the way back to the Fossil era when he would check the team into a local hotel before home games just to create the illusion they were on the road.

We all know it's GIANTS STADIUM. When are they going to make it their house?

I'm tellin' ya', it's that goddam NFL logo in the middle of the field. I hate that. Let the NFL pony up the billion $s for the stadium if they want their logo in the middle of the field.

Add the only sub 500 2004 season record of 6-10 & the G-men are 82-56 in the TC-Eli era. Only the Pats & Possibly Colts have more wins since 04'.

And us & the Steelers are the only teams with 2 SB wins in that span.

I just don't get why they can't be more like NE and play Lights out football both Home and away. I mean you are right we are even more competitive and play better overall games on the road then at home. Well with the exception of our trips down to New Orleans, lol.

Oh and that 35-14 beat down we got by Cleveland in 08

And you got all these so called experts calling us lucky to win those SBs. They need to look at the stats man like we just did and stop tooting the horn of GB, SF, Dallas Phillly all the time

the crowd is very negative ... it's almost like jamming this board in a smaller stadium and having the Giants go 3 and out ... it's hard for the players to ignore .. having said that, they are pros and they should be able to ignore the negativity .... afterall, the fans have paid good money to be negative, but i just wish they werent

We all know the REAL Greg wouldnt have time to waste on the NYG Message board with all the Prep and Practice time he puts in all week. I mean man you are on here like a RASH. not just in threads about our game Sunday, but in a TON of general Giants related threads. Not saying I mind cause we are fine with you being here and you are not a Troll like some of the idiots that come to this board from other teams..

So be honest... that last loss at Home to the Giants in 07 was really your last Legit shot at getting another Ring and it all ended so quickly to the lowly Giants who were not expected to get out of the WC round. They then went down to number 1 seed Dallas the following week and number 2 Seed GB for the nfccg and won those games on the way to beating the only 18-0 team in NFL History. For that reason alone you are Part of History forever being one of the teams on the way to that un imaginable victory.... must sting just a bit? No?

Very disappointing...I feel you man... As much as I love being able to go into anothers Stadium and not only quiet them but come out with a victory more times then not, its dishearting to always perform subpar at Home in the friendly confines.

Yeah, I told the team we're just going to wing it. We'll make up an excuse like I'm injured or something, I don't know. Maybe I tore my HTML posting so much, something like that.

You're missing the point of the thread. Overall, they're solid over that period but not dominant. If the Giants just eliminated the embarrassing games at home, they'd be one of the dominant teams of that time period. Just two games a year. Typically, you're going to lose one game you should win and you'll win one game you should probably lose. Last year, the Giants didn't really steal any games. They got at least 3 stolen from them, two of them @home (Redskins and Seahawks).

I hear ya. Well, the Giants best 2 yrs back to back were the 85-86 seasons when they were 12-4/14-2, if I'm not mistaken. For some reason or another the Giants just can't seem to be a great home team like the Patriots have been this past decade. They always seem to go 8-0 or 7-1 at Gillette field. Denver was another team that has always had a great home record. At least under Elway they did.

Seems like if you avg it out over the 7 yrs we are 5-3 to 4-4 at best. That usually Wont get it done in this league. However the teams with identical Avg at home over same time span most likely have a worse Record on the Road so thats how you have so many teams between 6-10 and 8-8 and out of playoffs every yr. Those teams with same home records as giants over that same span couldn't even dream of being in, lat alone win a SB over that time frame. The giants are odd in this regard in that being SO GOOD on the Road it has allowed them to win not 1 but 2 Titles in that time period. Just think what might have been had we been a better Home Team. We could picked up at least one more Title in those 3 other playoff appearences. I think in 2/3 of Eli's playoff losses they were at Home. Philly and Panthers. And his lone loss on Road in playoffs was also vs Philly. What is he like 7-1 on Road and 1-2 at home in playoffs?

I believe you are correct. Still, it would be nice to have HFA this yr. But if not, with the G-men's impressive road wins in the playoffs, I won't sweat it if they have to play on the road again this postseason.
