basically just said that teams are starting to use this as an excuse to lose and should prepare accordingly for the team they are facing but as soon as something doesn't go their way they use it as an excuse. He said it is a level playing field for everyone right now with the new refs like or not you still have to play the team your facing. He went on to say this is not the first time this has happened replacement refs or old and won't be the last. I love Parcells but there has to be a change I get what he's saying but we need the old crew back. The old refs may have played favorites but they didn't lose control of the game.

One reason the replacement refs loose control is because the players and coaches do not respect them, for the most part.

The Tuna knows what he's talking about.

@njersey

So, maybe those players and coaches should be, y'know, mature and/or professional? hmmm

This is true every week it like at least 2 to 3 coaches get fined for attacking the refs but he does make a great point about this whole thing that when teams start losing they already have this built in excuse instead of what they didn't do right. The call on GB last night was horrible but GB should have not been in that position in the 1st place. I know Seattle D is legit but GB with the weapons they have and their coach didn't make adjustments till the second half and they left it in the refs hands and it burned them.

You'lll never see the winning team complain about the refs on the game they win. That's for sure... lol

These are not the "NEW" refs.....they are temporary replacement refs!!! I agree with Bill here. I prefer the pro's but teams need to adjust and quit making excuses....the Giants get screwed by the refs all the time (even the pro refs) if youstick around you will read about it after every game...I complain right along with everyone, but I still know, teams have to adjust.

Part time employees making over 6 figures do not deserve a guaranteed pension. Simple as that. I'm siding with the NFL.

Its like NO ONE wants to think about the real issue at hand. Yeah, the games are sometimes hard to watch, blah blah....all this is getting lost in what is actually happening...a NEGOTIATION. Its not as simple as "oh, lets bring back the old refs, now!" cmon guys...

It is kinda of getting sickening with all the Packers complaining and using it as a legitimate excuse but.... man you should've heard Aaron Rodgers today on the radio just going on and on.

The NFL knows that they have the leverage they are not going to budge over last night your right they cannot just give in cause of what happened....they are negotiating and have to make sure both sides are happy. Even if the old refs and the NFL came to a deal it still would take at least 2 weeks for the old refs to come back that is week 5.

The regular refs should get paid and be on the field Thursday. Stop being cheap and pay up. The NFL makes BILLIONS every year. Pay the refs. I also disagree that teams are just making excuses and they should be prepared. Just because the refs are bad for both teams doesn't make it right.

If the world was as simple as "You have enough money, give me some!"... we would be living in Cuba. China. 21st century Russia.

You get the point...the US, especially the NFL is not a socialistic operation, nor should it be.

I'm not saying that I am enjoying this. I would rather have the old referees back, but at what expense?

That said, you have to admit the end of last nights game was pure pandemonium. excitement. thrilling. I enjoyed it...
(now replace GB with NYG and i would have took a dump in the middle of the road last night)

I have no idea what that means. They have more than enough money to pay these guys and the product is better because of them. Consider it an investment. Pay the regular refs. The game is much better with them.

The old refs want 6 figures and work only 1/3 of the year. And as a poster stated, a pension. This is laughable. How many people can say they can do this with their current employer?

How many people can say the make a billion dollar operation run better than it is today?

the NFL can't just give in they have to do what is best for them too whether we think it is wrong or not. Parcells is just saying teams need to adjust for the mean time and stop having the built in excuses before they play a down in the game.

This is yet another case of capitalism completely ruining everything it touches.

The NFL reduced the pensions of their FULL-TIME employees league-wide. The officials are the only ones demanding special treatment to leave their pensions alone...yet they're only PART-TIMERS. (How is that fair to the rest of the league employees?)

They're asking for too much and Goodell isn't gonna budge. Not now...not ever. It'd set a bad precedent, and the NFL's still got all the leverage.

Yeah, these replacements are a freaking dumpster fire (Obviously.)

But hook any NFL fan up to a lie detector and ask if they'll stop watching b/c of horrible officiating. Yeah...end of story.
