Either way he does lead the league in passing yards. Still very early and they are coming up against a very good defense.

Yards are an overrated stat. Yards per attempt matters a hell of a lot more. QBs playing with bad defenses usually end up with inflated passing yards stat because of how much they throw. Vick has 903 passing yards already, but the Eagles offense is scoring 15 points per game.

True that in reality passing yards don't matter in the grand scheme of the NFL, but this is just another reason why many NFL analysts are saying Eli is the #1 QB in the game right now.

Based on TC's philosophy, Eli shouldn't throw for huge numbers. The Giants strive for balance. If all goes well, 250 to 300 yds would be great passing numbers. What the GMEN have now that they didn't for so long, are 2 dynamic wideouts who can pile on YAC numbers. Throw in the potential an athletic TE can bring and who knows what can happen. I think if Eli had to, he would throw for 5k. Let's hope he doesn't HAVE TO.

While the stat is no real indicator I think he will break 5000 this year, why you ask. Last year he didn't really have a pass catching tight end along with our starting WRs, this year he has Bennett who I think will certainly surpass anything we had last year...

Counting the Cowboys game where does that put us in Yards gained on the overall list. Id have to think we are right at the top of that list to.. prob somewhere in the 1300/1400 range over 3games.

If we start clicking on all cylinders, his numbers will probably tighten up closer to 300 per game. The big numbers will only come if we are playing catch up. TC and KG would much rather a balanced attack which controls the clock. If our D keeps points off the board, we will maneuver our way to the end of the game with increasingly conservative play calling. I'm good with that and sure that eli is as well.

Eli is a beast... bottom line. He does whatever it takes! The run game has been lacking since last year, and Eli doesnt want to lose.. you gotta do what you gotta do... but I hope the running game starts clicking again.. cause it eats up the clock and saves the D's energy for those crucial 3rd downs.

With the receiving threats in Nicks, Cruz and Bennet the team is rolling with right now they should be one of the most potent passing attacks in the league. Bennett has really made is big difference (kudos to all of the posters who for years said this offense would take off with a top flight TE). Now if the running game can keep improving and this team can keep that balance then it'll be on the same level as the Saints offense of last season.
