Im so happy this is your last year in NY. You seriously are garbage against the run. Stop trying to get a sack and contain your edge.

He always does that. It never seems like he changes his demeanor after he makes a bad play.

for some reason he looks happyWouldn't you be happy if you were able to get millions of extra dollars from NY Giants by throwing a hissy fit before the season started and then not having to anything during the season to justify it?

Osi needs to just stay in his lane and worry about containment because Mike Vick is humiliating him this game.

I understand that you are upsrt, but say Osi is garbage is insanely. I do agree that when he get sack happy he does get sloppy when playing the run.

Osi is a overrated player. He is good only at getting sacks. Yet you still can use him. We need someone who can cover and stop the run on his side that is all. The one who should get that money is JPP. He is young and has a lot of talent and plays hard. Reese need me as a consultant.

Hopefully you guys aren't giving Tuck a free pass here. He has been just as useless so far this season. JPP is getting 90% of the double teams. You would think that either of these guys could handle their business. Obviously not.

****ing osi.. football basics.. CONTAIN GOD DAMMIT CONTAIN!!!!!! i went ballistic seeing the dog killer and mccoy running back to his lane knowing he wouldnt even be there.. damn they almost ran a play knowing he would bait on the inside and vick gained a buttload of yards.. it's so frustrating.. i would prefer tracy or ojomo there..

our defense should have stepped up more..

Osi is horrible, overpaid, etc etc.

They should have traded him for a 3rd when they had the chance.

GiantWarfare

Osi...lol...let me not even go in depth on this guy.

On to the big picture...at the end of the day, our pass rush is average and our only true impact player on D is JPP, therefore he gets just about all the double teams and chips on pass plays (not to mention being flagrantly held on a lot of them) basically taking him out of the game.

rEaS
10-01-2012, 01:38 AM
thats so true.. with osi and tuck doing nothing.. it's limiting JPP a lot.. last year all the teams had it wrong.. they would double tuck or osi, and leave jpp on an island with someone, which he normally won..

now teams see tuck and osi doing nothing.. and they just go after jpp

NO ****ING DISCIPLINE ON DEFENSE.. every cutback lane was there.. everyone wants to be the hero and no one can stay in their ****ing lanes.. limited players like blackburn did their best because they play with the basics as thats all they have.. osi and tuck and others tried to outsmart the O and jump and cut, and ended up looking like fools.. even JPP got in into the stupidity a few times..

FEWELL is to blame.. he needs to ride their asses this week.. we need discipline, not people trying to win the game on their own..

You even heard Collinsworth state that Vick said his only concern in regards to our pass rush was finding out where JPP was. Opposing OLines focus on taking #90 out of the game. Its clear as day, dude needs some help but he's not getting it, his Pro Bowl caliber line-mates have literally been invisible and its been nothing short of frustrating to witness...

We had a chance to banish him to Oakland prior to this season and balked at it. Instead of making plays, he's out there trying to get perfect 10's from the Dancing With the Stars judges.

he just wants sacks.. no run defense at all.. im sure he even takes off some plays he knows that are runs..

like someone said before, a 1 trick pony that doesn't even do his one trick correctly...

I would have traded him also, his constant complaining i would have never gave into. I think he is trying to rack up sack totals which look good on paper for FA next season.

As terrible as they played, let's not have a short memory. This same thing happened last year too, Osi and especially Tuck turned it around late in the season and got their heads out of their a##.

I don't think they're physically trash, although Osi is basically not a starter in my book, he's a 3rd down pass rushing specialist at best. I believe they can turn it around though, JPP is embarrassing them every Sunday.

I'd bench him for Ojomo.........he really took the $5 million and went into un-announced retirement

shockeyisjesus
10-01-2012, 01:46 AM
I was always an Osi defender, I thought he was a gifted pass rusher and a mediocre run stopper which still made him an above average football player.

Now he is a primadonna, do nothing, trash talking loser who talks FAR better than he actually plays.

Hope Odjomo comes back soon and takes his place, we could really use someone who, ya know, actually understands run defense and how to keep backside containment. His overpursuit of plays looking for sacks is exactly the type of thing this team CANNOT overcome because linebackers like Kiwi and Blackburn have below average speed for NFL linebackers. They are good at driving to where the ball is being run and blowing it up for little to no yardage.

However, when guys like McCoy are able to cutback and get their motor moving across the field, Boley is literally the only linebacker we have that can even come close to keeping pace.

That's why our ends keeping containment is so important and that is why Osi is going to play himself right out of NY, if he hasn't already. I'd be fine with him sitting on the bench all next week because you KNOW he's not gonna want to try and tackle Trent freaking Richardson all game.

The Browns game could get real ugly for us on the ground.

Instead of making himself some more money by playing consistent and smart football, he is totally losing value more and more as the games go by. He can go dance for someone else next season.

Tuck is a tough player that is actually trying out there. He just isn't making any impact. Osi, on the other hand, is not playing smart football and seems to be sack hungry. He seems to care less about playing the run and containing his side of the line.

When an opposing offense designs a play that assumes the opposing defensive end will lose contain, without actually blocking him or even touching him at all, then that DE needs to reconsider his value in this league. And perhaps, the team defense he plays for should consider further limiting his playtime.

You have no idea how pissed I was when Osi fell for the bait so easily. Knowing Osi he probably thought "wow they're making a mistake leaving me open". Nah bro, you're open because they know you're the one gullible enough to fall for something like that.

As much as I 100% agree there is more to it than this though.

The Eagles have targetting Osi's poor contain and gap control for the better part of 3 years now and as a team we have not adjusted. It has a lot to do with Vick being left handed. If you watched Tuck vs Panthers, he rushed without losing contain and forced Newton back to his left. For the most part, he did not let Cam roll to his right. With Vick, you have to force him to this right, and you absolutely cannot lose contain on the right side of the defense(Vick's left.) This is the book on Vick. If you watch teams that succeed vs the Eagles, this is how they do it. They simply do not let Vick roll to his left. With Osi on the field , I do not know how we can accomplish this consistently.
