Coaching staff does not have enough confidence in the offense to run one more play to the sidelines for at least 3 to 5 yards... I was a bit shocked especially knowing and I know i'm not the only one that Tynes did not have a good chance of making that..

Please stop saying run one more play n clock it. That would've been a turnover on downs!!

Instead the Giants should've ran a short 5 yard route to the sidelines. If its there you take it, if it isn't Eli is smart enough to throw it away... Then you try the field goal. It looks like 3 more yards and that fg goes in.

Close game but the Giants should have more confidence in themselves in that situation .

Your thoughts?

This one will cost the coaching staff just a little bit of sleep the next couple days, just no reason for not trying with Eli and HIxon, you have to figure a back shoulder, if not there you have nothing to lose.

Your thoughts? In a nut shell bad coaching all around. Team was not prepared, game plan non existent, bonehead play calling. Enough said.

They collect a paycheck either way. They will not lose sleep over this. As a matter of fact Coughlin has already forgotten all about this game. He has old-timers disease.

Lots of stuff can happen with running another play... Bad snap (and there were tons of those tonight), sack, penalty, interception... It's not like the Eagles wouldn't be expecting a quick out to the sidelines... Coughlin took a calculated risk with the long FG and Tynes missed both attempts at it... I really, really wish Tynes woulda nailed it after Reid iced his miss.

Forget the 3rd down play for a second the 2nd down play to hixon there just no excuse for that we had a chance to get some yards and set up a manageable 3rd down fg or go for some more yards

That first miss should have put enough doubt in Coughlin to try another play.

I agree with you. The management of the closing seconds were quite pathetic. If you don't have faith in your field general to make the right play, then who else could you trust?

I'm sure the Eagles would be expecting anything to the sidelines but with 15 seconds left you have to at least try. A back shoulder, a running back in motion to the flat... We've seen it happen so many times and yet no confidence to even attempt it

Impossible. I wanted him to make it too but experience of watching Tynes for years made reality kick in. He didn't have a prayer. And surely Coughlin knew that.

3rd and 19 on the 36 was an awful predicament to be in the first place. Barden is an absolute moron.

Yo have to try to. Get more yards there. Tynes sucks 45+

I was wishing the same and to say it was a calculated risk then i'm curious to know what Tynes fg % is from that range. I think a lot of us here have watched games where the Giants go for it on 4th simply because theres no confidence in Tynes making a field goal from that range. We've even seen them punt before from around that range.

1st and 10 at PHI 27 (Shotgun) A.Bradshaw left tackle to PHI 26 for 1 yard (C.Jenkins). (40 seconds)

Our next snap @ 25 seconds We shouldve continued to run the ball they had one timeout left.

If that is the case, then we should be actively looking for Tynes' replacement... 54 yards is a very, VERY doable FG in today's NFL.

Yeah, I didn't get the playcalling after that point of the game... For a team that prides itself on knowing how to come up clutch at the end of the game, we sure didn't look like we knew what we wanted to do.

Akers missed two from much closer against the Jets.

Akers missed two from much closer against the Jets. That was an anomaly... Akers is pretty clutch at 50+.

Put it this way, if Akers is lining up for a 54 yard game winning FG against us in week 6, how confident would you be feeling?... I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be feeling too hot.

50+ is a makeable fg in this league but it is by no means easy. It's on the brink of most guys fg range for accuracy. They can hit from further but accuracy goes waaay down.

I agree, I would've liked to have seen a try for some more yards, if we got eight quick yards, eli could've clocked the ball, and given tynes a makeable 46 yarder with say 2 seconds to go.

We've seen it happen so many times and yet no confidence to even attempt it Even if u don't try for a sideline throw, try a shot in the endzone, or similar to the play to barden, but obviously make sure u get enough on it that its ur player or outta bounds that catches it.. 100pct should of used the play though.. Tynes is only good at Kicks that any AVG kicker should make.. I've said that a gazillion times, when people gas em over ur basic kicks.. The guy almost shanks the easy ones quite often.. Its dissapointing watching a Rookie for the Rams drill 57yrders and what not... A kicker like Janikowski, Phil Dawson, Josh Scobee..etc We need one of them!

I think fans meant on 2nd down run the ball to get a few yards and center it and clock it.

Im not mad at Barden. Thats probably an interception is he doesnt do that...That is the exact reason why Barden did that. Ashamouga had position on him and would have picked intercepted the pass if Barden didn't stop him. It was an awful pass.

I have to agree, and then what. Barden didn't have position and the ball should have never went his way!

If we had Nicks the giants win the game. This is 2 losses already in a loaded NFC.Starting to think its 2010 again. When they win enough but win the wrong games
