View Full Version : Niners Dominance tonight would validate win.....

Would love to see the Niners crush the Seahawks tonight. It would kind of validate last week's trouncing, because outside of the Giants who have they really played?

Ruttiger711
10-18-2012, 09:08 PM
Maybe - one of the 1st articles I saw out of Sundays game was that the Giants just provided the blueprint to beat the 9ers.

Parking needs validation - last weeks win, not so much.

It ain't looking too good for NIners so far. Am I the only one that wants them to blow out the Seachickens just to make our win look even better?

Cool Papa B.
10-18-2012, 09:23 PM
Disagree. They had last weeks game circled since the end of the NFCCG. They know our system and that was the 3rd game played in less than a year. The way we beat them was validation enough IMO.

They don't look so good tonight. At least not so far.

Denaliman316
10-18-2012, 09:36 PM
They're without Mario Manningham who's key in their gameplan so the Hawks are doing what we did but with one less WR to worry about.

The Hawks have Lynch and he's not going anywhere and we had success. I expect the 49ers to break it open in the second half. I mean Randy Moss, Crabtree, Davis?

Cool Papa B.
10-18-2012, 09:38 PM
Maybe he is still shell shocked from last weeks beat down, but Alex Smith looks a bit lost out there. His passes are off and he's not looking to pass down field. It could be that he misses Manningham.

ogun75672

Lynch is a freaking beast. He refuses to go down!

You think Wilson is a better QB than Smith? I'm not too sure about that. Wilson runs with the ball pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's because he's a rookie and defenses are still figuring him out, or he's just that good of a scrambler.

I'd rather the 49ers win the divitsieaton. The Seahawks defense matches up much better against our offense.no doubt Seattle defense is no joke and I think Browner and the other corner maybe the same height or taller then Cruz and Nicks.Their defensive line is small though so I think they can be run on.

Hope Seahawks win tonight & hold SF to under 10pts. We don't need validation. We just "stomped" their butts! Seahawks D is very good, but Wilson isn't beating us & our O is too stacked even for their D. We would just have to engage em in a shootout which we would win. Thier O is not good, Their D is. But our D is just as good as the 9ers, but our O is way more explosive, plus we have Eli. Seahawks would just be another obstacle on our rd to a repeat.

If Seattle takes that away Alex Smith cannot do anything. Wilson should start doing that with Lynch since his wr's cannot catch.

Personally i don't really care. What matters is getting to the playoffs.
Technically a win against an elite team has the same value as a win against a bad team so as long as we get into the playoffs i'm good :p

Anyway i do feel a bit bad for SF since we beat them so bad last week (and also the NFC championship game) so i guess i'll root for them (as a fan of the NFL) if i had a choice.

Well, if the 49ers get a TD here, I think this game might be out of reach for the Seahawks offense. They're really not built to play come-from-behind football either. They did do it last week against the Pats but that was at home and against a weaker defense.

Both teams are not built for come from behind wins. Defense & run game is their forte, both QBs are game managers. Key in the playoffs vs these 2 teams is to jump out to a 10+ pt lead & they are done. BTW, the great Alex Smith just threw a redzone pick!

Wilson threw for like 30yds in the 2nd half. Seahwks are going nowhere with this 5'11 QB. Take away the "gift" GB game, they are 3-3. Much rather face them in the playoffs than SF again. That's if they make the playoffs. Not that Smith was that much better. Gore 'gored" the Seahawks front 7 tonight.

Harbaugh has some deep anger management issues.

Yeah, Seahawks WRs definately not Giants WRs! They cost the hawks the game.

Awful passing offense. Golden Tate sucks, and everyone else cant catch. It doesnt help that Wilson is a rookie and looks lost out there.

Overall, a mediocre performance by the niners. 1 TD. big deal. If Seattle could have found the endzone just ONCE the 2nd half it would have been game over. 2 mediocre teams. plain and simple.

Also, terrible call on the chop block once again. I cant stand these stupid things the refs "emphasize" week to week. It compromises the game.

Exactly! Plus, for everyone that thinks the barely winning against Seattle might make it seem like less of a win for us in the media's eyes:

1) Who cares!
2) It was a division game for San Fran and Seattle and they are usually closer.
3) Maybe we can take the perspective that the possible decline of San Fran was due to the Giants.

TC is a monster game planner, often provides the blueprint how to beat who ever. One of the many reasons why he's such a great head coach. A very good reason how other teams can contain micheal vick, now cam newton and so to be rg the third. It's no surprise that teams follow stratergy of a team who comes up big in big games as such underdogs. Instead of just believe critics follow hype more than foundation.

Many people were gushing about them after the rolled up big points and yards against the Jets and Bills (and in fact, that helped them towards the top of the charts in yards and points... Going into our game on Sunday SF was only scoring like .2 fewer points less a game than us).

But, honestly, their offense has improved, but to people who don't easily get carried away know that they're still only a slightly above average offense.

100% - the only thing that will validate a recent win is another win right after and yet another after that.

The NFCCG needed to be validated by some (mostly non-giant fans) and now the win that validated the NFCCG also needs to be validated?

Exactly. Also, you eliminate the risk that any of your players get injured on the punt or any subsequent play . . . .
