if he keeps on playing the way he does?

he is worth anything that Reese will pay him...that he will agree to play for

In other words if the giants can fit him into the cap and Eli is content.....YES he is worth every cent

Eli is worth more than it. I would honestly rather have him more than any other player in the league, without a doubt.

He's worth 100 million dollars and 100 million threads that all get too 100 million pages. Please Harooni, admit he's the greatest player ever so it'll stop! J/K. I love Eli threads.

Without a doubt. There is no other QB I would rather see back there, and as we all know there are plenty of outstanding QBs.

well , compare it to A-Rod's 280 million and i'm good.

A-Rod makes 46k per at bat/stikeout. yup ....every time the ump hollers "steerike threee"
he puts almost 50 k in his pocket.

In the following seasons, his current contract will be referred to as Joe Flacco money.

Yep! The charities he has quietly set up are worth tons of what he is being paid.Eli loves Superbowls and helping others and a lot more inbetween. He's a man who likes giving. He gives to us fans and NY. He is worth every dime he is ever paid.

The real question is are you a glutton for punishment? Because I can tell you thats what you will get with this thread. Seriously, there are baseball players who make a ton more and that is a ****ing laugh. I've read plenty of your posts and you seem solid, but wtf? Stupid question.

Of course he'll make like 15 each for the next 2 season..

Eli Manning is worth every single penny he has been given, and then some. He provides so much more than just an elite QB. He provides an under-rated calm over this team that is very hard to find in many high profile NFL players. As alluded by another poster, he is a charitable man who gives of himself both financially, physically and spiritually. He is a family man who is, simply, a good guy. Ernie Accorsi saw all of this in Eli and thank EA for the greatest going away present we could ask from a departing GM.

Go ask the fans of Philadelphia if Eli is worth 100 million. Go ask the fans of Dallas is Eli worth 100 million. Guaranteed the majority would gladly pay far more to dump their current screw-up QBs to get a gentleman of Eli's caliber.

gumby74
10-20-2012, 07:36 PM
he got what he deserved in 2007ish. "Franchise" Qbs don't come around very often. Which is why I think Flacco will get paid also. He may not be amazing. But he's good enough to win a SB with imo.

Yes.

When his contract is up or near expiration, he will definitely get another 100 million. He's 31 now, and his contract is up after the 2015 season....really just 3 years away.

What do you think a 34 year old hall of famer is worth to the Giants? Easily looking at a 6 year max contract type of deal.

In hindsight yes.Disagree, as you could already see it was already well worth it based on what was accomplished & the direction he was headed over his body of work. He could have asked for more but he wasn't greedy about it and took a reasonable offer.

Is there any Giants Fan who doesn't agree? I'm not one of them of course but just asking to see who is down with Eli and who isn't. We have the yes he is and no he isn't wich I like.

Eli is worth every penny and then some. We are very blessed as Giant fans to have a QB that could've easily folded under the heavy scrutiny but instead raised his level of play to being one of the best in the business. Just a year ago a few of us including me laughed when he compared himself to Tom Brady but guess who got the last laugh?

When Eli was drafted, I didn't walk to the store, I ran out and bought his jersey. I didn't understand the Warner signing... I wanted Eli to start day one. I didn't start getting on Eli's case until we missed the playoffs 2 years in a row... the Eagles streak made matters worse. I truly believed that he peaked and starting questioning if it was really Plax who made him better and that it was actually our defense who DID win that 07 Superbowl for us. Thankfully so I was wrong and the rest is history baby. Can't wait to see him in person later... my *** is gonna be tired though lol.

the problem is not is he worth it. no player deserves this much a season (yankee fans may agree ) so the question isnt fair. but what i dont like is having restructured his contract so we can barely squeeze under the cap this season his cap numbers are as follows.

2013: $20.85m (was $18.6m)
2014: $20.4m (was $18.15)
2015: $19.75 (was $17.5)

now I have a huge problem with this going foward , how can we surround Eli with talent like this.

It is no secret that he has a home in Oxford, MS, and that's where you will find him in the offseason. Someone with such a high profile would have a pretty hard time being deceptive to the IRS.

Dont we always release talent around Eli, and still Eli manages to get the best out of his players. 3 years ago, I was just like you...I was screaming how can we surround Eli with talent and all we do is restructure contracts and made some free agency nightmares and be tight against the cap. But Eli Manning is sooo good, that cutting all that talent around him makes Reese look like a genius. The 2004 NFL draft and the coaching change in 2004 change this whole organization around, once Eli got several seasons under his belt and was the unquestioned leader on this team...he's been one of the best QB's I have seen in my life.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Giants and Eli agree to restructure and extend in the offseason. They can bring down the yearly cap hits and he can get some more upfront money and a longer deal.

someone important may walk and go where the money is because in the end it's still a business. it's a matter of them deciding wether they want a chance to get another ring or to get more money. we've seen some of our WRs,TEs, and RBs go to other teams for more money.
