Excerpt: "Seven weeks into the NFL season, we can say this, for sure:Victor Cruz (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/13553/victor-cruz) is no one-year wonder.

Cruz came through yet again on Sunday, with a 77-yard touchdown grab with less than two minutes remaining and the winning score in the Giants' 27-23 victory over the Redskins.

That's the longest game-winning TD in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter in Giants history.

"[It was] A great route by Victor -- great decision," said quarterback Eli Manning (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5526/eli-manning). "I had good protection, I was able to put it up there and he ran under it to go get the touchdown."

The Giants had just given up the lead when Redskins QB Robert Griffin III (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/14875/robert-griffin) connected withSantana Moss (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/2564/santana-moss) on a 30-yard TD strike, putting Washington up 23-20 with 1:32 to play. AfterDavid Wilson (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/14887/david-wilson) returned the kickoff to the Giants' 23-yard line, and following an incompletion on first down, the G-Men faced 2nd-and-10 with 1:23 left in the game.

That's when Cruz, from the right slot position, took off and streaked down the field, hauling in the bomb from Manning.

"As I was going vertical, I just saw that the safeties were wide and they were outside of the numbers, and I saw the middle of the field wide open, so I just took it," Cruz said. "I just kept going vertical and Eli saw it the same way."

Cruz had seven catches for 131 yards on the day. It's his fourth straight game with at least one touchdown catch. " Read more...

thank god eli woke up that final drive. he missed a bunch of throws and the ints were just ugly. but Cruz is the kinda talent where u can just get him the ball and good things happen.
we got to keep him n nicks. cruz is ss12 but with amazing YAC/breakaway speed. another milestone for cruz. great game and season for hm

I was thinking during the game that it's just possible Eli is thrown off his game when the other team has a more up-tempo game. Nothing scientific about it, just a thought.

eli struggles with washington historicaly. he looked excellent but he missed too many throws and that brought his level of play down imho. he made up for the mssed passes with that perfect pass late to cruz tho

Eli's ints were BAD, 2nd one especially. Other than those and missed td to cruz I thought he was making good throws

Yes, that's true. But in the end we were able to pull off a win

Thought it'd be a longer drive than that. Good job by Eli to Cruz.

Cruz is only as good as his counterpart on the other side of the field, a guy named Nicks. Has anyone here noticed all if not most of Cruz's breakout games have come when Nicks is on the other side, when Nicks sits it becomes a bit harder for Cruz to be able to run like free Willie. Same goes for Nicks, both need to be on the field for either one of them to be successful, no one receiver in today's or past NFL can do it alone, Jerry Rice and Taylor, Irving and Harper, Bruce and Holt, and the list goes on and on. As you can see in Arizona, no matter how great Larry is, they have no one else on the other side of the field for defenses to be held accountable for, and it has hurt them and Larry.

SS12 couldn't hold Cruz's jock strap the dude a straight bum now......Even before then we never won anything with him as a starter.........
