It's just that most of the time i get tired of the "Giants got lucky" shtick, especially at the packers, 49ers, and skins. THAT finger though, that was pure luck...

Great teams find a way to win. Early on in the season it was :"where's the defense" and "where's special teams." Today, it was "where are Eli and the offense"?

It's a team effort, so when one facet is struggling the other two can pick up the pace.

exactly a wins a wins a win. Instead of focusing on aspects of th game, the bigger picture is we're 6-2 and are clearly ahead in the nfc east and beat Romo on the road. Beautiful.

And if Bradshaw had gotten another inch we would have gotten the first down.....

Seriously, the "luck" card could be thrown in at any time.

6-2. Where we're always at every year before we collapse... rrright.

At least we're 2+ games up on everyone in our division this time.

A win is a win but if someone doesn't think we got lucky a dude's finger was 1 inch in the wrong spot, they're delusional.......no one on our D used any skill to cause that, we had no say in the matter, that was pure luck

I would agree with them.

This game was in Romos hands to be carried off the field like General Maximus Decimus Meridius in the movie Gladiator. Unfortunately for Tony, he chose to walk off the field with his head hung low.
He did recover after the first half and played good in the 2nd half, I give him that much, he didn't fold.

miked1958
10-28-2012, 10:45 PM
I would agree with them.So would I.. but a win is a win. And it erases the 0-2 NFCE Start. Now we put ourselves right back in it with a 2-2 div record and a 2.5 game lead over dallas and philly and a 3 game lead over skins plus we have the tiebreaker as of right now... good spot to be in.

Now for our NOV games with a 6-2 record. Oh boy here we go

Just out of curiosity, why is it lucky we didn't lose to a miracle hail mary td at the end of the game? Would the Cowboys be considered lucky had they won despite 6 turnovers? Sports are about skill, execution, and luck.

ImElectric2
10-28-2012, 10:56 PM
yeah, about as lucky as the cowboys were for the awful spot that gave them a chance to attempt that hail mary to dez...

miked1958

Hey bottom line is we won. We had 2 pretty much MUST WIN games in past two weeks being 0-2 in Div. Wasnt pretty at times but we won them both to get even at 2-2. we had to have them and we got em. Thats first. Second this LUCKY win as some of you put it gets us to 6 wins and thats one win and one step closer to making the playoffs and securing 1 of those 6 playoffs seeds.. Thats the bottom line

Rich4114

And since we're ready to play the luck card and find a way to be upset over this win (we did win right?) Couldn't one say we were unlucky to lose the Philly game thanks to an offensive PI call? Or does that not count?

I was physically shaking for the last half of that game. So annoyed that we can't score TDs. Annoyed that our D has been winning the turnover battle, but can rarely get off the field without one. Mad that Eli and the receivers haven't seemed to be on the same page the last couple of weeks.

And yet we still won in a game we CLEARLY got outplayed in. Credit to Dallas' defense, they have our number. But After the 1st quarter, I felt like we were losing the rest of the game.

So yea, I'd say we're lucky that we don't have to hear about what a miracle it is that Romo overcame the turnovers and brought the cowboys back from the brink. And if I see a completion on either of those 2 repeated routes from Romo and Witten again, I'm gonna scream.

Very lucky. But the Cowboys designed their team to beat the GIANTS. Every move they've made the past few years was a direct counter to what the Giants were doing.

Bradshaw definitely had a 1st down, refs said no. CBs don't see the ball again if they get that right.
CBs DBs got away with murder, ending drives but Giants DBs got ticky tack PIs, like the one that negated Tucks sack.
If anything we were lucky to get out of there with such a stacked deck. JMHO

I would agree with them.

If the Giants convert just 3 of the 5 FG's they settled for into TD's, then the Cowgirls 24 points becomes nothing more than a decent comeback falling far short! Since I'm in no mood to be magnanimous towards the Giants, they should have put up 49 on the 'girls and made it a rout!
These Red Zone woes are quickly becoming a major crisis, because they arent going to escape every game the way they did yesterday.
Never mind "same old cowboys" or "same old jets"......the "same old giants" in the red zone is just as bad as any of them!

Exactly! I said the same thing as the clock was winding down. I felt as though the refs were trying to give Dallas more chances to win, simply because they rallied to make it such a close game after having a terrible first half on their behalf. However, that Dez Bryant catch was something to be thankful for. If he had just put his right arm on the football as well and didn't attempt to absorb his fall with his arm, it would have been game over.

No such thing as luck. We sometimes call things LUCK just to give some low percentage things that happen a name. You call his inability to get his feet or hand down in bounds LUCK, I say it was the defensive backs that forced the play to the back of the endzone, good play and the inability of Romo to put the ball in a place where a more routine, in bounds catch could have been made.

Another thing, was JPP's interception and score LUCK?

I was thinking about the same 2010 Eagles game, where we gave up a 24 point lead... I think it was in the Last quarter with very little time Left ! You can not blow a 23 -- 0...Lead !......This will come back to Bite you, like it almost did yesterday ! One good thing we are 6 & 2 Now.

More like that Raiders game from a few seasons back: jump to a 35-0 lead, Raiders can't convert on third downs, Giant offense kept maintaining the ball, killing time off the clock.

I think that was the last game where an iota of stress was not involved.
