I moved away from CT 15 years ago due to job re locating down to Alabama's Gulf Coast. Right near Florida Line. Just wanted to make sure all my Giants buddies are staying safe and taking precautions.

Its Ironic that with me living close to the Gulf of Mexico where Hurricane Threats are a Fact of Life that we had only 1 scare this year and this is your 2nd. crazy...

Well stay out of harms way and hopefully it will weaken and not do hardly any of the damage they think it will..

Post on here when you can to let us guys that live out of the area know how its going. thanks

So far it's just rain and some wind, but we're waiting for the other shoe to drop... Everything is closed, mass transit is shut down, they're shutting down the bridges and tunnels later today.

I work in Westchester across the Tappan Zee so I'm glad I don't have to go in... Working from home at least until I lose power and/or internet.

Last time around I lost power for about a week and cable/internet for about 10 days.

The good news is that as these storms become more and more common (granted, this is a biggie), we get more and more prepared.

People are hopefully smart enough to know to stay off the roads and close-up unnecessary businesses. Also, the flooding areas should be quite apparent by now.

First and foremost, stay safe. Please, living in Florida, I have learned the hard way to listen to the advice of the authorities. On the other hand, noooooooooooo. I'm schedule to fly in Friday for the game on Sunday. I was looking forward to time in the city, visiting my hometown of Brooklyn but as it stands now that might not be possible. I heard of terrible things down in Jersey and NYC coastline. But up here in Albany has been the biggest bust ever.
We have gotten a few gusts I suppose that rumbled the leaves and a light mist of rain has fallen for a little bit. I stepped in a puddle on my way out of work. They were freaking out up here in Albany/colonie NY. Nothing. Nada. No power outages, they had National grid trucks in the mall parking lot (they didnt move) I heard tho all around albany got some damage. Hudson overflowed. But in Colonie? Felt like nothing happened. We must have a barrier nothing ever happens. If the gmen want to come practice here in Ualbany its open. Little wet but it will do. But good luck to all how are suffering because of this storm.

Who cares about the stadium lol...very true. with all the people removed from their homes due to flooding and explosions of power plants burning down neighborhoods. trees down, power out for who knows how long. THE ABSOLUTE LAST THING one needs to worry about is a football game or how a stadium made out.. everyone take care of your loved ones and your properties...

and maybe by weeks end we would want some semblance of normal and need a distraction from this horrible storm. Maybe they play their maybe they wont but i think most of us would want something to look forward to after all the clean up and stuff that goes with a storm like this. even if its only for a small 3 hr window. prob wont even have power back on by then anyway

I hope everyone is doing okay. I read about NYU evacuating patients from the hospital in the dark. Also read they had to evacuate sick babies from the intensive care unit down 9 flights of stairs in the dark, so scary. Be safe everyone, it's still flooding up there even though the storm has passed.

We just got the power back on an hour and a half ago (was out since 1pm yesterday). Jones Beach is underwater. The theater (the lower seats) are all underwater. Tree in my backyard fell. Powerlines down, debris in the streets. Everyone is good though (that i know of). Thoughts and prayers to everyone else up here!

Everything is fine here in the Bronx. The storm wasn't too bad but at times the wind was so bad that I felt the whole building from apartment shaking. Never felt a brick building shake before so I that was the extent of it. The lights did flicker on and off at times but the power never went down. Water is fine also.

Had to drive up to North Jersey to the inlaws to borrow the generator that they don't need since they have power.

Back home has no power and Sprint service has been out - finally some texts coming through as of this morning. Verizon peeps seem to be the only ones affected. Trees - BIG TREES - down everywhere along with power lines. I doubt I will see power for at least a week with all the work that needs to be done.

Looks like Ill be driving up north to watch the game! I haven't read through the thread - did the stadium take on water?

haven't had power here since monday but i am one of the lucky ones that has a generator. My house is fine with minimal damage and no flooding. Some of my surrounding towns were hit pretty hard with flooding (right around Giants Stadium). National guard has been there taking people out of their homes and bringing them to shelters. These small towns normally don't flood this bad, so there was no mandatory evacuation. My only real issue right now is trying to find open gas stations to keep the generator going for heat and to keep the fridge going.

To all the people at the jersey shore NYC, long island, staten island,Queens NY and surrounding areas...my thoughts and prayers go out to you. this is the worst hurricane i have seen around here in many years.

Dozens of homes in Queens, NY have bruned to the ground due to low water pressure causes by power outages. So sad for those affected.Currently snowing in western Virginia but we haven't lost power yet and hopefully won't as temps have dropped in the 40si think at last count it was over 80 homes now

Thankfully I was lucky enough to not suffer any damage. I didn't lose power at all, didn't get flooded, and didn't have any damage to the house. The lights flickered on and off all day on Monday though but that's about it. But obviously it was real bad in other parts, especially down the shore.

Long Island was the worst hit in NY state, as far as power outages due to trees down etc. Lower Manhattan out of power under water in many places
Atlantic city and many coastal cites in NJ, hammered severe floods outages , damage in Billions here also. 90% of power was lost to the LI residents. may not see power for the next week..one neighborhood in queens, breezy point lost over 90 homes in one large fire, many were historic. the devastation is widespread.Long Beach was nearly wiped out. the manpower shortage is HUGE1 there are at least 5,000 additional lineman from other states on there way to help, that is long island alone! this was a disaster on a grand scale!
