Excerpt: "The Giants have already made their big decision for this week as they will re-insert David Diehl (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/4618/david-diehl) as the starting right tackle Sunday against the Steelers. Diehl will take the place ofSean Locklear (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/5609/sean-locklear), who had started the past six games since Diehl suffered an MCL injury in his right knee.

Giants head coach Tom Coughlin all but said the Giants are re-inserting Diehl back into the lineup because a starter can’t lose his job due to an injury. Diehl has played as the team’s extra tight end in jumbo packages the past three weeks, playing 25 snaps.

“We brought David along trying to make sure that he was okay, and that his strength was there, his confidence was there,” Coughlin said Friday. “He started out in the same role that Sean will be in this weekend. That’s where we are on that.” Read more...

This move will be under a microscope today. Considering how well the line has been playing if lets up more than one sack this move will criticized up and down on Monday morning.

If Eli gets hurt today, Coughlin will get tarred and feathered and run out of the swamp on a rail

While a concern, the bigger concern is Baas. He had an ankle last week and now this week he has an elbow and ankle issue. I think with the strength of the Steeler D line Baas could be in big trouble this week...

Baas is big trouble every week.....whats new, hes a weak link

You're right, if Deihl should have come in anywhere it should have been at Center

Does it matter he's never played at center?

No he would still outperform Baas..........I think Boothe is a better Center.....Boothe at Center would open up the running game

Diehl who has never played center would outperform Baas? Diehl who is rated pretty low on protection?

Have you watched Baas? The guy is a bust, and they wont take him off the field as they pay him too much money to sit.

How many sacks has he surrendered?

Baas has allowed the most TOTAL pressure of all centers in the NFL. Now I don't think Diehl would make a great center due to his height/weight ratio. It's obvious we need some more youth at the interior Oline and I hope we draft a G/C in the first 3 rounds next year.

Thanks Coughlin, and just because you have 2 rings doesn't mean you are always right. Thank Eli.

I am very shocked that the coaching staff would re-insert him into the line up.

Yep...Diehl does not look good out there. I saw him get blown off the line on the goal line play and he's given up multiple pressures on his side (as per usual). They need to put Locklear back in there. All in all the Giants offense sucks. I don't know what happened to it but ever since that second half of the 49ers game, Eli has just been off. Wobblers, mis-timing throws and basically bad decisions and interceptions. It's like watching 2007 Eli at times...I seriously hope he doesn't continue to regress cause the last few games have been pretty poor even though they've managed to squeak out wins.

Eli looks nervous in the pocket, like he's thinking about being hit. Or thinking about something, not just playing.

This loyalty thing that the coaching is doing here isn't right. Locklear deserves to play.

DD gets beat, Eli fumbles. Lucky we got it back.
