Have you ever watched Eli run? The giant Staypuff marshmallow man from Ghostbusters was more nimble on his feet!

Probably because he is slow and unathletic?

I agree if Eli doesn't make a panic throw there and runs to the corner two things could have happened. A) He may have scored, B) Cruz could have re-directed and gotten open. But it sure looked like Eli would have scored to me.

His last run for a TD was in London against Miami right? I think he also had one against the skins but I cat recall if that was before or after the Miami game.

From my angle, it looked like he could have made it easy.

This is why not: It made NFL.com's Awkward Moment #2: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d820439d0/Awkward-moment-No-2-Eli-s-slide

I've seen Eli score 2 rushing TDs in person. I think he has 3 in his career, lol.

Skins game was Week 1 in 2008. I was there. He ran it in right in front of me.

Maybe he doesn't want to get hurt?
Maybe he's slow as hell?
Just some guesses.

Slow or not, he scores on that play. He had the blocking. Cruz probably got/influenced that call because of a late hit on him that was missed earlier. We got lucky all around on that, because 1) it should have been intercepted, 2) it was not a blow to the head.

Yes Eli isn't a RGIII.....but the field was wide open and he could have walked that ball into the end zone this past weekend. I don't expect Eli to run the ball that much...but once in a while a tuck and run option seems to be the best for some positive yardage......Stop throwing off your back foot and run the ball dude.

Eli run? I remember in an Eagles game at home, he run and then he went to the ground untouched and fumbled the ball! The sad thing was that there was not even 1 Eagles player within 4 yards of him!

He had the angle to get in the end zone provided Bennett blocked for him. But good god I don't want Eli running. Didn't we lose an Eagles game in 2010 because Eli ran and dove forward and fumbled untouched?

He is the one guy on this team that can not be replaced and he knows it, so there's no reason for it.

Besides he's sloooooooooooooooooooooooooow and he knows that too, so there's no reason for it.

Move on.

I'm more worried about Eli taking a hit than scoring a touchdown. The guy isn't exactly a statue in the mold of Kerry Collins or a Drew Bledsoe, but he isn't the most mobile either. I worry about him running because of the shot a defensive player would get on him...a sqaure solid shot that could put him out of the game for quite sometime. There is a reason he hasn't missed a start and not running is probably one of them.

GiantRoc

Eli is VERY slow for one thing. Secondly, He fumbled one or two times on runs. I think Coughlin banned him from running ala David Wilson. (Bit of red ink on that last dig)

he never would have made it to the end zone. .He would have made it easily if he would have taken off right away. The reason he didn't? That's not an instinct of his. He's thinking pass all the way through. He's also not as slow as some people think he is.

He's not, but anytime he hesitates which he always does looking for the pass, the opportunity is gone and it goes from a possible score to a possible hit where he gets crushed.

Exactly. Eli is a passer. Seems like he will go through his reads twice before he even considers running. By then any opening to run is long gone.

Because he is a very slow white quaterback! He isnt fast. He is a greataQB but simply cant run.

When the Giants were first and goal against the steelers, to me it looked like he couls have ran to his rileft and made it into the end zone. He wound up throwing the ball towards cruz who got hit and a penalty was called.

Honestly, m sure, when needed, he would run to try to pick up a few yards, but he knows he has better options.

I know he did it last year in the second Eagles game. We had a chance to tie and he was on the run and was tackled and fumbled.I wouldn't put that on Eli just running. Kmac let the Eagles defender right through. Eli got sacked, and fumbled the ball.

I don't want Eli trying to be RG3, but I do completely lose my cool on plays where he should tuck and run for the first and virtually never does.

Seriously, how many times have we seen defenses literally GIVE Eli 5-10 yards to run on 3rd and short only to have him heave the ball deep? happens like twice a game at minimum.

If Eli ran, the defender would have came off of Bennett and he would have been wide open for the TD. If the defender stays with Bennett, he walks in to the endzone.

Even if he faked like he was going to run to the corner like some said, it would of drawn the defense up and maybe cruz or someone else would have come open.

I am not sure why he is scared to run. He has proven he can take a pounding and stand up to it and still win big games. Like the NFCCG last season. He is tough in that respect. Will stand in and take the Hit with the best of them. but when it comes to running he is very timid. has done it a few times with mostly bad results.
