Giants Activate Will Hill, Coe to IR

http://www.giants.com/news-and-blogs/article-1/Giants-activate-Will-Hill-Coe-IRd/021050b9-7544-4df6-bca7-262fae6d4341
"The Giants today activated safety Will Hill in advance of their game here tomorrow against the Bengals.

To make room on the roster, cornerback Michael Coe was placed on injured reserve. Coe suffered a hamstring injury in practice on Wednesday. Coe missed the Giants' game at Carolina earlier this season with a hamstring injury and dressed but did not play the following week against Philadelphia.

Hill returned to practice this week after serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. The Giants were given a one-week roster exemption for Hill which expires with his return to the active roster.

Hill played in the season’s first five games as a reserve defensive back and on special teams. He had seven tackles (six solo) on defense and four unassisted special teams tackles.

Coe played in seven of the Giants’ nine games. He made his first career start on opening night against Dallas. A six-year veteran, Coe had eight tackles (six solo) and two passes defensed. He also had five solo special teams tackles.

The only two Giants not to make the trip here were safety Kenny Phillips and linebacker Jaquian Williams, both of whom were declared out yesterday due to their respective knee injuries."

I see tuck here. I see Osi gone.

What I see is JPP at RDE and Tuck/Tracy,Ojomo,(draftee) rotating at LDE. Think about it, if we get rid of Tuck who does that leave us with? And more importantly, how much depth does that gives us?

Nothing is impossible but lets assume Osi is gone too. Who does that leave us with?

JPP, Tracy, and Ojomo. Two of them as unproven as it gets. So unless we draft DE in the first or second round or go after a quality FA, 1 single proven DE will not cut it.

Of course Kiwi is always an option, but now that they've screwed with him, he is no longer a natural DE or a natural LB.

I'm fine with that, all I'm saying is we would then need to go first round DE, or bring in a big name FA. I trust our FO though.

Tuck looked pretty good last game, plus he usually gets double teamed. Osi will most definitely not be here next season, so I see Tuck back here fo sho.

Tuck and Osi both have been a disappointment. All they've done this year is talk, none have showed up. I would not be against drafting a DE in the first or second round if Tuck doesn't pick it up the remainder of this year.

This means we're down to only 4 corners on the roster.

And 1 is Tryon, so might as well call it 3.

CowboysSuck
11-10-2012, 06:38 PM
I mean think about it. If Ojomo is the real deal, or at worst, a very serviceable DE. We can get rid of Osi & Tuck ( two under-performers this year, and will free up some cap space). We can draft DE, or bring in a good FA DE for the price of Osi and Tuck easily. And all this is made possible by knowing that Ojomo and Tracy are players. If they aren't we need a different game plan. Like keeping Tuck, drafting DE, and bringing in a lesser name FA. Idk, all I know is this year our D-Line hasn't been as productive in the past and you can really tell the difference. The FO needs to figure this one out, since our Defense is built around the D-Line, this is of utmost importance.

Well you can kind of count Rolle as a CB so bump that back up to 4 and then they could throw Brown and Hill back at safety and then when KP comes back, even better ;)

Well let's be honest with ourselves, the coaches are brilliant and have a brilliant game plan each and every game.

Well , who knows really.

Like one poster said on here: " I COACH A YOUTH BASKETBALL TEAM AND SOMETIMES THEY JUST DONT LISTEN TO WHAT IVE BEEN TEACHING THEM IN PRACTICE" Lol. Well, sir, hate to burst you're bubble but there is a monumental difference between youth basketball and PROFESSIONAL, NFL FOOTBALL.

...i dont think he gets it. NFL players dont follow a coaches game-plan for 2 reasons: either A: its way too damn confusing and no one really understands it, or B: Its an awful call and the players are like what? really coach?
You dont make it to the NFL if you cant follow a football gameplan. And 95% of the time the gameplan/calls are executed so at this level, coaching is a HUGE deal. contrary to popular belief...

Cool Papa B.

Both Tracy and Ojomo have shown a lot of upside. JPP is JPP. The question for the coaching staff is would be be worse off with Tracy and Ojomo or Osi and Tuck?

I don't see Osi coming back next season

How did the Will Hill thread get turned into another Ojomo love fest. It's about Hill being back, which shoud really help the secondary. Hosley has been getting eaten alive by the slot receiver, they need some help badly. I'm hoping Hill can get in and make soem plays in the nickel and dime package.

Once Ojomo plays a single down in the NFL, we can start talking about him. Right now they don't even let the guy dress, or play special teams. He's surely not the answer at starting DE.

Ojomo dominated in the preseason, and then went straight to the tub. Must be the worlds most devastating hamstring.

What's the word on Coe? I know he had lingering hamstring issues. Didn't think it was anything dire, though you can never trust a players' assessment of their own injury. It's a bit worrisome as he is probably one of the few you'd want on the outside after Webster and Prince.
