The 49rs could use a good pass rusher on the edge opposite the young stud Smith and Larry Grant plays behind Patrick Willis and that is just wasting talent. Anyone think there's any chance something like this could happen in the off season?

I'd rather try to sign away London Fletcher before Redskins resign him. Instant leadership and good plug to a leakage of suckage in LB, move Goff to SAM.

Fletcher is getting up there in years though isn't he? We need a semi-long term fix I feel

Eh I think London Fletcher is done; the only reason why he looked so good in the Giants game game was because the offense was inept. I don't know why but he reminds me of Keith Bulluck.

Fletcher is running empty and with an engine with a lot of miles on it. Many tackles for many years. He's almost done.

fletcher isn't the answer...& goff should need to earn his spot like everyone else, a FA & high draft pick LB need to be brought in....goff is a average at best LB that's coming off IR, I hope nobody's thinking our LB problems are solved because we get goff back (assuming he's resigned)

We STILL need at least 2 new starters at LB next year.

We sign him and he would be out for the season because he tore his pectoral muscle signing the contract...

I'm not completely against Fletcher......I do think they need a solid vet in that spot to make the calls and be a leader out there ala Pierce......not sure who else will be an FA but they got two young guys (Herzlick and Jones) who need time to develop behind someone.

I think Jones has a shot at being a staple MLB for this team once instinct takes over for the slow readand recognition he's going through now.

I don't know anything about Larry Grant (haven't taken time to google yet and it really doesn't matter) but if he could be anything close to P Willis then I would do that trade in a heart beat.

Personally, I feel that Osi is a one-trick pony who relishes the sack and for that reason runs himself out of a lot of running plays...and we do have 2 DE's that are pro-bowl quality. (I'm giving Tuck a pass this year because of the injury...it could be affecting him a lot more than we know)

No they don't. They put plenty of pressure on Ben last night. Osi would be a liability in the SF offense with his horrific dicipline.

Osi is a pass rush specialist. The next team he goes to will use him as such

I wouldn't mind snagging grant 4 Osi

actually that could be a good move... San Fran is middle of the pack in sacks last year and this year - Osi coul dbe a great situational situation for them...

A dozen years as AFC South champs, 2 Superbowls, a Hall of Fame QB and about to draft another one?

Yeah I'd hate to be the Colts.

A pass rusher is gold on any team but I agree that the 49ers would not break the bank (or rough up their depth) to get Osi.

Osi will command a pretty good salary (no where near what he would have gotten had he shut up and put up at the beginning of this year) and I can think of a dozen teams that would be instantly better with him on their rosters.

Only on the right team. A team that is desperate for a pass rusher. Osi is a pass rush specialist and not a complete DE.

The Niners don't seem to have a problem getting to the QB. As evidenced by last night. There are a few teams that might pay for one. But not the Niners. They don't want our garbage. They're on the rise.

they had a hobbled QB playing a supbar line with their all pro center out - last night was no indication of how good they are...

they are a middle of the pack defense when it comes to getting to the QB. Osi would actually be a perfect situation for them

You couldn't trade Osi for Ulysees Grant. 30 years old, injury prone, bad wheels and looking for a new contract. Also add in the fact that TC has a better chance of being late for the next game than Osi does of being on the Giants roster next year and they we be able to get squat in a trade.

I haven't seen anything on Larry Grant so I'm purely going to assume based on where he was drafted and also the fact that he didn't cut out for the Rams. I think an Osi can reap better than a 7th rounder, however, if we're lucky we might get a 3rd round pick for him.

Harbaugh just spent an early first round pick on a push rush specialist. They don't need another guy who can just rush the passer.
