View Full Version : Giants' Mario Manningham listed as doubtful

Though he said the other day he would play against the Jets, it appears Mario Manningham won't get the chance to back up his smack talk (http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2011/12/hakeem_nicks_giants_receivers.html) about the cross-town (er, state) rivals.

The Giants (http://www.nj.com/giants)' wide receiver is listed as doubtful with a nagging knee issue that kept him out of the losses to the Saints and Packers a few weeks ago.

This is without a showdow of any doubt the biggest game of the year to just keep their slim playoff hopes alive another week & Mario poor itsy bitsy neg MRI knee injury is still hurting so he he'll be a NO SHOW. Good grief no wonder this team will not make the playoffs for the 3rd count um 3rd season in a row.

Wouldn't it be something if somehow Ballard with a confirmed MRI knee injury limps out on the field & makes a catch?

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER TUCKER FREDRICKSON? The guy played without knees for season after season & gave 110% on every snap You could hear his knees cracking as he ran over people..

They don't make um like they used to is all I'm saying.

So what if they win tomorrow without him and he is good to go next week? Maybe pushing him tomorrow would prevent him from playing next week or may e even the playoffs.

TC and KFG the f is not a typo, better use Barden. He's made tough catches in the very limited chances hes gotten. he's had a couple very nice plays.

theres virtually no tape on him for the Jets to be prepared for him. He could be the X factor.

Yea yea i know the posters who think hes garbage. I get it. But I think he has talent and when his number has been sparingly called he's passed the test.

IMO, the only thing holding him back is KG. USE HIM HES GOT SIZE AND GOOD HANDS, no GREAT hands.
Also, remember he was the pick to eventually supplement the loss of Plex. it'd be awesome if he outplayed him tmmrw.

If MM can't go and KG doesnt use Barden much like the rest of the season, KG needs to go. We're leaving too many players who could be weapons on the bench. You think teams like GB and NO wouldnt have utilized Barden? Especially in our current situation?

Who ever they use has got to recognize the Jet D & be able to make adjustments especially in blitz packages. No time to learn on the fly so who ever they use in the slot since Cruz will now go up on Revis @ WR had better bring his A game or it will get ugly & fast.

Mario is listed doubtful every week, but I would like to see Barden get a few more this week. He has done well when it's been thrown his way.

Mario's been "Doubtful" all year.

"Doubtful" he'll run the right pattern and "Doubtful" he'll catch the ball.

He needs to learn the playbook, learn how to run a proper route, eliminate the drops and mental mistakes before he ever openshis flap trap again. [:@]

Sorry but I am back in my "dump on Mario" mode.

Doubtful is a perfect term for him;

Doubtful he'll remember the play

Doubtful he'll set up his cuts properly

Doubtful he'll know where the sideline is

Doubtful he'll know where the first down marker is

Questionable (giving him the benefit of the doubt) that he'll catch the ball

Manningham makes a lot of route running mistakes. We are better off without him. I think he scored in the single digits on his Wonderlic!!!

He may have his mistakes but he is a very dynamic WR. I do not think they are a better team without him and he can't help them if he is hurt. He could help them next week or in the playoffs if they don't push him.

yeah I remember Frederickson back to his days at Auburn and you're right they don't make them like they used to anymore, these players today are too quick to sit on the sidelines holding a clipboard with a runny nose..

Eli's highest QB rating in a game this year came in the first Eagle game in Philly. Manningham didn't play in that game. His most yards in a game came against New Orleans, where he threw for 406. Manningham didn't play in that game either. Not necessarily saying they're better off without him, but I don't think his absence is a crushing blow.

So guys, where will Mario end up next year?

I have a feeling with the Cleveland Browns. Not sure why, I just have a feeling they'll be the ones to pick him up.

Ridiculous. this kid is gone next season. He cant stay on the field, and doesnt know how to run routes. See ya! Pay Nicks and Cruz.
