View Full Version : Nicks and a 4th for Larry Fitzgerald. Would you do it????????

I really feel bad for Larry Fitzgerald. When he has anything close to a QB, he is arguably the best WR in football. Nicks' time to cash in is coming up as well. I would do this trade in a heartbeat. Who else is down with this?

We couldnt afford to take on Larry Fitzgerald contract.....Nicks is playing on a rookie contract and we still are tight against the cap. This would not happen at all.

We would have to cut half our team to afford him.

As much as I love Larry, Nicks is my guy;)

No....Larry is a beast but I like how Nicks fits our scheme. Plus it's just one of those things you would hate to see.

not a trade i would complain about except for the age difference maybe. also how would that work out considering fitzgerald would probably require/already has a huge contract as well?

The 4th round pick, not Nicks.

I agree with this statement.

love Nicks as a Giant, hope we get to keep him one

Pretty much the contract as others have pointed out makes this impossible. Ashame to see him in that situation with the Cardinals.

That trio would put every DC in the NFCE on suicide watch

man, HELL NAW!!! even tho L fitz is the best wideout in the game, he still is 5 years older than new york nicks, not to mention KILLER ELIte's chemistry and rapport is already in place with hakeem. if new york nicks was a knucklehead id do it in a heartbeat, but im cool on that deal.

Reuben Randle is promising though, so I can't see us giving it much thought.

I too def feel bad for Fitz.

He's literally only ever had Kurt Warner and then a whole lot of nothing and a bit of less than nothing....Dude is a complete beast but at this point I might as well be throwing to him every Sunday.

Clocks ticking too. He's not getting any younger.

I wish he'd go to the Dolphins. Tannehill is gonna be a beast, but he needs someone else on that offense.

I'll say no but I wish I knew the depth of nicks knee injury. If he doesn't get back to himself next year, I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. Regardless of what he says, Nicks is only playing @ 50% now. Go Giants!

If Nicks could stay healthy he is just about as dangerous a WR as any in the league. The problem is he seems to always be hurt.

If it takes Fitzgerald money to sign Nicks, then I'd rather have Fitzgerald. I assume that Nicks is going to cost less than Fitzgerald. I'm thinking (or at least hoping) that he and Cruz will take less money to play together with Eli for a while.

And if I'm the Cards, it would take more than a 4th rounder to be thrown in along with Nicks to give up Fitz. He's the best player they've ever had. He's basically Mr. Cardinal.

I like Nicks too much to ruin his career like that.

12-11-2012, 12:22 AM
i dont think they would take nicks and a first for larry. Part of that is due to nicks having a history of injuries

I like Fitz but do we need a WR? I would not want to lose Nicks. Eli is comfortable with him.

You'd think they would take an injury prone receiver and a 4th round pick for Fitz? Do people think these threads through?

It's more realistic than the 'Osi and a 4th for Trent Richardson' idea that was floated in the off-season. Progress, I guess.

Nicks is 24. Fitz is 31. No thanks and plus, Fitz contract is too big.

31? He's 29. Still bad, though. He's nearing the end of his peak, whereas Nicks hasn't even hit his yet.

I hope Fitz does get traded, though. Such a waste of an amazing player.

It was something like that. There were many crazy threads during the off-season... Marques Colston was apparently a realistic target.

As injury prone as Nicks has been, he may only last the same amount of seasons as Fitzgerald going forward. We would not be able to afford him anyway. He will probably be traded to the Jets for Tebow, a team which seems to always have money no matter how many FAs they sign.

For some reason, I have this funny feeling that the Eagles could poach one of Cruz or Nicks from us due to how much cap space they have.

What cap space? They'll be dumping several players because they won't be able to afford them

Wide Reciever is a position of strength on this team. We probably have one of the deepest recieving corps in the league. As much as I like Fitz, why should the Giants waste assests and money to upgrade a position that doesn't need to be fixed? Let's try to upgrade the positions that need be.

While I'm usually a "shut up and play" kind of guy. Football careers are fleeting. And the Cards organization is litterally ruining Fitz's career. If I was him I'd hold out and demand to be traded unless they sign a legit QB like Alex Smith.

I love Nicks....he is truly a beast when healthy. Looks like he's coming around a little bit but I still don't see that break away speed. That one play v.s. the Saints he cut across the middle, if that was last year he would've scored on that play. If we're going to make a run this year he plays a big part of it. His and Larry's playoff run were all time great just remarkable what both of them did.

But Zona has NO Qb. I mean if you put a guy like Drew Stanton on the Cards, they are a winning team.

Zona is a disgrace. i suppose Kolb is serviceable, but I'n not even sure about that.
But you put an even ordinary QB on that team and they could win.

In all reality, if I were the Miami Dolphins, I would be all over getting Larry over there. They almost landed Dwayne Bowe during the year. They have a future star QB in Tannehill. Would be the perfect fit. I would say San Diego, but that Denario Alexander guy is a stud. My reasons for being down with getting him here is because who knows how much money Nicks is going to demand when his time to renegotiate comes. He might ask for Fitzgerald type of money. IMO, Fitzgerald is a superior receiver to Nicks.
