"what ifs" are h-y-p-o-t-h-e-t-ic-a-l h-y-p-e, but I'll play, what if Wilson doesn't get hurt and returns a kick-off or two for a TD, or great field posirtion for Eli, or takes off on a couple of long jaunts from scrimmage, what if Coughlin scares out and takes Wilson off kick-offs - then we're screwed

You can't play "not to lose" and you can't play "not to get hurt", worrying about a possible injury is not going to help you win...

While Wilson is the latest to emerge as a legitimate threat on the Giants offense, he isn't the only one. There are other players that are also dynamic game changers in their own right. The Giants shouldn't try to make Wilson their entire offense but at the same time should not limit him for fear of injury.

The better question is what if he fumbles? Will he see the bench?

You have to hope Torrain and Lumpy can step in and Bradshaw gets back quickly; Oh and let the aerial attack begin!

Yeah but Bradshaw and Jacobs were good in the playoffs last year. If Wilson went down, they would have to give the towel boy a helmet and Eli's playaction would be DOA.

Also Bradshaw isnt out for the season. Just one game, maybe two...well Wilson's time is now then.. He can no longer be that complimentary player who comes in as a change of pace to spell AB1 and catch the opponents D off guard. Nope. With AB1 out one game, maybe two as you say that is the difference between making or missing the playoffs this late in the season. If this happened earlier in the year the team could of had time to overcome a couple losses due to a starter being out. We are now at a place where we are missing key players like both ABs, KP and others with nothing to fall back on if we slip up.

I don't think he's ever been injured in college, seems like a tough guy.

False, our running game actually was much improved during the playoffs

Did you see Joseph run back that fumble last week?

I really think they need to expand the active roster by adding a couple of spots, it seems that these "fluke" years where we have an entire unit that is banged up are becoming more and more commonplace. We are going to have to start pulling people out of the stands if Wilson goes down.

Well at least the cat is out of the bag now. Did you really have to be the one to say this ? If it happens its you we blame.

More importantly what if an offensive lineman goes down? Jim Cordle and James Brewer are our depth.

Apart from the Falcons game, not really.

Against the packers they had 85 yards for 4 ypc.

Against the 9ers they had 87 yards for 3.4 ypc.

Against the patriots they had 109 yards for 4.1 ypc.

Maybe a slight improvement over the regular season where they averaged 89 yards a game rushing.

They also averaged 3.5 ypc during the season, so that did improve a bit, to 3.8 ypc.

Really the falcons game was the fluke statistically. Playoff running game was very similar to regular season running game.
