"NFL Network has learned the New York Giants (http://www.nfl.com/teams/newyorkgiants/profile?team=NYG) will wear a decal on their helmets Sunday in memory of the lives lost in the tragic mass shooting at a Newtown, Conn. elementary school on Friday morning.

All Giants (http://www.nfl.com/teams/newyorkgiants/profile?team=NYG) players will have the initials S.H.E.S. (Sandy Hook Elementary School) on the back of their helmets for their Week 15 matchup (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2012121601/2012/REG15/giants@falcons) against the Atlanta Falcons (http://www.nfl.com/teams/atlantafalcons/profile?team=ATL).

The NFL has asked home teams (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000111261/article/nfl-asks-for-moment-of-silence-for-school-shooting) to observe a moment of silent reflection prior to the national anthem before this weekend's games.
A gunman murdered 20 students and six adults before apparently killing himself at the elementary school in Newtown, a town approximately 60 miles northeast of New York City."

Very nice gesture by the Giants. With everything that has gone on in the NY metro area- hurricane Sandy, and this- the Giants have stepped up in the community and have given a helping hand.

My prayers go out to the family and friends of new town,CT.

Getting the details together for the vigil in our town. The band and a couple of hundred fans are just going to show up downtown by the "holiday tree" with just an acoustic guitar and start singing Give Peace a Chance.

Hi guys, been working a lot lately off the computer but Giants always on my mind. I just can't imagine. And what's weird, when ppl were saying oh I am going to hug my kid, I got a little angry, please don't let me offend you, but I thought , yeah great cuz those ppl can't do that...I guess that's part of getting old. Seeing things, and just feeling so helpless towards doing anything. It's ironic, we live in the best place in the world and we are really failures at being the best we can be. Gotta refocus in my life.

We as Americans have become to relaxed. With everything that keeps us in our homes, we don't even check on the person/ persons that live to the left and right of us. We need to pay more attention to what is going on in our community. Let me tell you a story that I heard on the news down in Florida when I lived there a year ago. Anyone that knows South Florida roads down there, they are two lane and always have traffic on them. An older gentleman was walking on the side walk in the afternoon hours got jumped and put in the hospital. This pissed me off knowing all the people that drove by and did not stop to help. He lied there for awhile. Someone had to have seen it. Anyways just saying not everything we can help but there are more things we could help. Be safe everyone and pay more attention, I know I do when I am out and driving.

Oh I believe that. AND THE OLDER PPL ARE THE WORST, young ppl will help, be considerate, but our generation I am 52, as long as it's not their relatives they could give a doggone and that's sad because you know the parents did not raise them like that, I am always amazed at how bad the manners of my generation and older are from working with the public.

Good to read what you all have to say, and each has very real points.

Here's my $.02 :

Any one of us can have our lives ended on any minute of any day. It doesn't matter how young or healthy we think we are. We should ask ourselves as often as possible, "Is what I'm doing RIGHT NOW going to be something I'll be proud of when it's all over?" Let the cops, judges & politicians do what they have to do. We can only really control ourselves to make this world better.

God Bless, and Go Giants!!

And if I see ONE 3-man pass rush on 3rd and long, I'm throwing my TV out the window.
