Yes for now, but I think if both Min and Giants win out the Giants will own the tie breaker by the end of the year.

Let me write it up a little clear

Chicago Loss + Seahawks Loss = 5th Seed
Chicago Loss + Cowboys Loss = 6th Seed
Cowboys Win + Chicago Loss = Vikings 6th Seed Giants 7th [OUT]

It's that time of year with lots of headaches with so many tiebreaks and ramifications to make the playoffs.

The Giants have the tiebreaker over the Vikings due to conference record

For now, but if the giants and min are both 10-6 at the end of the year, the giants own the tie breaker.

The players have checked out and the coaches, well, they were never there to begin with, but we had great practices.

For this week yes but technically the Giants still control. The reason why the Giants in that last scenario are out is because the Cowboys and Giants are tied. So ties within division are broken 1st, since Cowboys have better div record the beat out Giants but lose tiebreaker to Vikings. However since the Redskins and Cowboys still have to play each other 1 has to lose or both tie. So if the Giants win 2 games they are 10-6 and either Skins or Boys will be 9-7. The winner of that game Skins or Cowboys win the division while the loser would be out. Giants at 10-6 own conference tiebreaker over all 3 Bears,Seahawks,Vikings.

Playoffs, well lets talk guys.

I know we all wanna win this year but we are fresh off a SB win and we need an O-line bad. I'm just afraid that if we manage to get into the playoffs our o-line is going to get Eli killed....I'll take an early season exit for a solid offensive line next season. I know the two don't necessarily equate, but the worst our record the higher our pick...just saying.

Winning out right now would guarantee a wildcard spot at least in the worst case scenario of other teams still in the playoff hunt. The Giants have a good conference record and haven't played most of the remaining WC hopeful teams. The real WC threats are now Seahawks and Cowboys/Redskins, but they have to play each other and the loser of that final game may be out.
