is Clark &amp; Slaton 4 Ronnie Brown fair?

HELL NO!!!

1st and 5th rd pick for a 4th

Like I said, by the end of the year it will not be close to fair...

first off.. thats just THIS League... in my money league Slaton and Brown we're both 2nd rounders... Slaton was far from a solid first round pick

not htat it means anything anymore now that we're going into week 6... So u wouldn't trade for Ronnie Brown if you had LdT?

and draft value has officially gone to ****, just like in real football...

Go ask Carolina and Dwayne Jarrett is they would trade for STeve Smith even tho

DavenIII

So like i said, the combo of Ricky, Ronnie, Finley starting over Slaton, Coles, and Clark is a better situation for S&amp;A, he improved his team hence it is a fair deal and is not rejectable

Yeah I completely disagree that S&amp;A is in a better situation with Brown/Ricky/Finely as opposed to Slaton Coles and Clark....

I also notice you are completely ignoring that Flacco (a top 5 QB atm) is even IN the trade...which I find rather ridiculous.

and using your criteria I would think this trade is rejectable 100%

that said, since my criteria is "Are they trying to cheat" luckily for Bandy, I won't Reject the trade, S&amp;A is just being dumb, he's not trying to cheat.

MattMeyerBud

answer one question is Clark &amp; Slaton 4 Ronnie Brown fair?

No Clark and Slaton are worth more then Brown alone....

that said, there is some wiggle room, if you have really bad RB's and a good back up TE you can do an unfair trade because it makes your team better overall....that's fine....I'm not saying I'm gonna reject this trade.

but looking at the players, forgetting about their teams, S&amp;A is getting *** Raped without lube...it's not even close, and personally, I think he's making his team worse, but it's not my opinion that matters, its only S&amp;A and Bandy's that matters, I don't think they are trying to "Cheat" so I'm not gonna reject it.

To say hes better off with a worse RB, worse flex, but better TE just shows how mad u've gone

we're not talking abotu another top 5 back, we're talking about Steve Slaton, because thats who hes replacing.

Upgrading ur RB1 and Flex spot and downgrading ur TE is a MAJOR upgrade on your team. Especially if ur currently bringing in the 2nd best RB in the league at the time

you are only looking at the position not the player.

even if you upgrade your QB RB2 and WR1 giving up Adrian Peterson usually is not worth it.

similarly even if your improving your RB1 giving up Dallas Clark is not worth it, not unless its a HUGE upgrade, and it isn't..

Dallas Clark is going to get him 9-10 more points on average then Finely will.

Brown might get him 5 more points on average then Slaton will.

that's my opinion...

and again, your not even recognizing that Flacco is part of the trade, just because he doesn't need Flacco doesn't make his value ZERO...he's still worth ALOT as a top 5 QB.

Rofl Dallas Clark has more receiving yards then Brown has rushing yards....

ok Brown has 3 more TD's he's a RB, they get TD's more, it's not even close you have to compare TE's ro other TE's see how big a gap it is, then compare RB's to RB's and see how big the gap is.

the difference between Dallas Clark and the rest of the TE's in the NFL is FAR greater then the difference between Ronnie Brown and the rest of the RB's in the league, so yes, while RB's are more important generally then TE's are, you have to put Clark pretty high up....

I suppose in overall value you can rank Brown a bit higher then Clark, but the fact that it's close, and that Slaton and Ricky are close, and that you are ALSO throwing in a top 5 QB in the NFL makes it crazy....if you threw in like Robert Meachum instead of Flacco, THEN this would be a fair trade.

he's still worth ALOT as a top 5 QB.

Not to mention it is Bandy's glaring weakness. Plus he gets a huge upgrade at TE.

Matt always says don't make the trade unless it makes your team better. This doesn't really make Shocks team "that" much better where it turns Bandy into a MUCH better team. More power to ya doofus.

three things that are not debatable...</P>

</P>

Ronnie is better than Slaton... regardless of where u drafted them.</P>

Ricky is better than Coles</P>

Clark is better than Finley.</P>

There is no way that the difference between Clark and Finley is greater than the difference between Ricky and Ronnie vs slaton and coles.</P>

As for Flacco u obviously aren't reading or u'd see i brought him up about 5 times. I said that yes S&amp;A isn't getting teh value he should out of him, btu hes a backup QB and has no value on his team wiht Rivers there. Regardless of anything, the team he is gonna put out there every week is better than what he had out... except this week when miami is on bye</P>

lol what u mean ur the one arguing about clark being top 5 at his position... im looking at somebody improving their team and nothing else. First off i would just like to point out that with 11 more games and lets say Clark averages 11 points period that would put him at 175 points.... in 2007 Witten had the most points and had 147 and then last year gonzo had 158 as most for a TE... realistically ur prediction is a drastic exaggeration. </P>

I understand that using past stats as a barometer for trade value, but there are several variables that will ultimatly decide wether its fair or not..</P>

its not a one sided trade though

Hell yeah it is.

... i agree S&A could of did a better job negotiating but the fact remains he upgraded two starting positions and traded a backup QB. His team that he is going to put out htis week (well not this week cuz miami is on bye lol) is going to be a better team... Brown, Ricky, Finley > Slaton, Coles, Clark

No way, Slaton Coles and Clark > Brown Ricky Finley, Ricky and Brown are on the same team that's horrible, and Finley isn't even worth mentioning when it compares to Clark....on top of that, that's not how you should be rating the trade in the first place IMHO...this is how I break it down.

Flacco = a 7 out of 10.
Slaton = a 4 out of 10
Clark = a 9 out of 10

S&A Trade Value = 20 (IMHO)

Ronnie Brown = 8 out of 10
Ricky Williams = 4 out of 10 (Cmon man he's a back up behind Brown)

Bandys Trade Value = 12 (Minus 2 since its 2 players on the same team) so 10. (IMHO)

I honestly think Flacco Slaton and Clark are like TWICE as valuable as Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.

that's pretty god damn uneven, but I honestly believe Shocky thinks he's getting something worthwile so I won't reject it.

I haven't made the trade and now honestly I am having second thoughts. I really like Ronnie Brown but if Rickys knee is hurt than that squahs the trade...Plus I really like to get another receiver...sorry Bandy.

U can still have Flacco though if u offer me any sort of value.
I won't just be dropping him if that's what you're waiting for...lol

Drew Brees might have been the early front-runner for MVP, but
against the Giants, he was the cause of the Saints' demise, as he threw
three devastating interceptions to help the G-men pull out the 26-21
win.</p>

Eli Manning played like the real MVP of the game, completing 24 of
38 passes for 288 yards, two touchdowns and, most importantly, zero
turnovers. </p>

Ahmad Bradshaw rushed only 10 times for New York, but he made the
most of every time he touched the ball, racing for 94 yards in helping
the Giants jump to a perfect 6-0 on the season.</p>

Eli Manning was always the third son. The Manning family had four tickets to Saints' home games when he was a kid, and the three boys -- Peyton, Cooper
and Eli -- would sit together, and the fourth seat would always go to a
friend. "The deal was we were always supposed to rotate bringing a
friend, but somehow I never got to bring one," Eli said on Thursday.
"But it was a fun time with my big brothers. Dad used to say, 'Make
sure Eli gets a hot dog.' '' </p>

With father Archie up
in the press box doing the games on the Saints' Radio Network, this was
the boys' ritual for five or six years on Saints' home Sundays, growing
up a seven-minute drive from the Superdome.</p>

In high school,
at nearby Isidore Newman, Peyton and Cooper played regular-season games
at the 'Dome. But by the time Eli was of age, the Isidore Newman custom
of playing once a year in the big stadium had ended, and he never
played there. Never played there in college at Ole Miss. (The Rebels in
the Sugar Bowl? Not hardly.) Never played there in his first five years
in the NFL.</p>

"This my first time,'' said Eli, now 28 and in
his sixth NFL season as the quarterback for the 5-0 Giants, coming to
town to play the 4-0 Saints Sunday in the NFL's game of the day. "I
never really thought about it much ... well, yes I did. Both of my
brothers got to play there, when I was in seventh and eighth grade, and
I guess I thought about when it would be my turn. But in high school,
not in college or the pros. Then, when we were supposed to play there
four years ago, Katrina happened, and they played the home game at our
place.''</p>

So it has to be an emotional weekend, no? It might
be, but because of the bigness of it, Eli's not giving into the moment.
He's not going home to see his folks Saturday when the Giants get into
town, not going to dinner with family or friends. Eli will have a
Coughlinesque focus this weekend. He'll need it. </p>

Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams
is one of the great changeup pitchers of any defensive mind in the
game, and Manning can be sure he'll see a few things Sunday that he
hasn't seen on tape.</p>

But make no mistake about it: This
game is not going to be about the cutesy story of Eli returning home.
This is going to be about Eli the Sudden Mad Bomber, matching Drew Brees throw for throw.</p>

***</p>

There are many surprising things about the season's first five weeks: The Broncos allowing 8.6 points a game, the other Steve Smith
leading the league in receiving, Cincinnati topping the AFC North
(deservedly), Tennessee falling off the face of the earth ... and Eli
Manning playing like Dan Fouts. And like Peyton Manning.</p>

The
best single statistical barometer of quarterback proficiency is
probably yards-per-attempt because it measures how far downfield a
quarterback is getting the ball on his average pass-drop. Eli's always
been a middle- to bottom-of-the-pack guy, averaging, in order, 6.75,
6.21, 6.31 and 6.76 yards-per-attempt in his first four full starting
seasons. This year, he's at 8.98, an amazing quantum leap from year
four to five. Eli's second in the league to brother Peyton, at 9.09
YPA. </p>

You have to put a faint asterisk on that number
because the Giants have played three pathetic football teams -- Tampa
Bay, Kansas City, Oakland (combined record: 1-14) -- the last three
weeks. But I'll tell you why it's not fluke: Because Eli is a different
player, and he's got better receivers as downfield threats than Plaxico Burress and Amani Toomer were.</p>

When
you watched the Giants of two and three years ago, you often saw
Manning hitting receivers out of their cuts, just before the moment of
impact with defenders. Now, Manning's throwing the ball earlier -- like
his brother, like a smart veteran, when the receivers are just coming
out of their cuts, just before they turn to look for the ball. </p>

Getting
the ball a couple of steps before impact means the world to a receiver
because he can then juke or run past a corner or safety, and these
wideouts, in particular, have been very good running after the catch. </p>

The
kind of trust he's built is even more impressive considering he's known
his top four targets all for three years or less: tight end Kevin Boss and wideout Steve Smith (three years), Mario Manningham and Hakeem Nicks (one). Amazing. The average age of these four targets is 23.5, and Manning looks like he's been throwing to them for years.</p>

It's
a credit to Manning that he's built such an early trust with his
receivers, and his accuracy (a career-best .644) reflects that. But
give the receivers credit too. Smith and Manningham, in particular,
have boosted Manning's yards-per-attempt with their quickness (Smith
especially) and speed after the catch. You watch Smith, Manningham and
Nicks, and you say: They've done this before.</p>

"When you
watch Eli now versus early in his career,'' said the Saints' defensive
coordinator Williams, "you see an offensive line doing a great job
setting up the pocket and giving him time. And you see him not forcing
the issue downfield. He forces nothing. His receivers make clean
catches with room to run after the catch. He anticipates them coming
open, as opposed to throwing when he sees them open. By then, it's
usually too late for the receiver to do anything with the ball after he
catches it.''</p>

Manning said the downfield playmaking ability of the young guys has opened up offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride's
playcalling. "These receivers fit in better to what coach Gilbride
wants to call,'' Manning said. "Finally, the plays I've never really
liked now work. It's not that I didn't really like them, it's that we
didn't have guys open on them; guys weren't winning the battles
downfield. Now you've got Steve making great double-moves, especially
out of the slot, and Mario's got great agility downfield, and Nicks is
so strong after the catch. Those are great traits for downfield
receivers to have.''</p>

I expect the Saints won't think they
can get to Manning consistently on Sunday, and Williams is likely to
play more defenders in the back, trying to interfere with his passing
lanes. But it won't be a Williams gameplan without a few jailbreak
blitzes. But only a few. Why?</p>

"We're playing a patient veteran,'' Williams told me. "Like his brother.''</p><div id="TixyyLink" style="border: medium none ; overflow: hidden; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-color: transparent; text-align: left; text-decoration: none;">

pro Hockey never really caught on around here. I know in certain areas it's huge, but even for a cold winter climate like NY, very few ppl i know even follow hockey.
Tell ya what though...high school hockey in these parts is a helluva lot bigger than high school football.
People pack the arenas here and i swear it's ****ing nuts. I take partial credit for that back 10 or so years ago when i was in high school, cuz before that, barely anyone showed up to these games b/c it's not a district funded sport. Eventually though, it became THE sport to fuel all the local rivalries!! It got so insane that state troopers had to occupy our civic center just to keep the peace. About 4 years ago or so, spectators were BANNED from all high school hockey because every ****ing weekend kids from my old school(Arlington) would fight kids from our rival hs(John Jay). And i dont mean "oh man lets get that guy". I mean like, I saw people get carried off in ambulances, and blood on the sidewalk. So the ban was a good idea.
Now that they let ppl back as of a couple years ago, people are extremely careful as to what they do. Like, even the kids monitor the other kids as to what they say. No cursing, but you can yell and taunt as much as you want lol. You are forced to sit on only 1 side of the arena, because you or sorted by school ID on your way in haha.
But yea, thats my novel about local high school hockey =p</P>

I can lose Manningham, and still be ok IMHO

you are missin out JPIZZ.. great game being ruined by the NHL.. were are so crazy for it that we have a picture of people playing it on our 5 dollar bill..lol</P>

hehe....nah man, my heart is only SO big. clod blooded *******s like myself only have enough love for the Giants and the Yankees. I have a hard enough time supporting the Nets and Phx Suns because thats another game that has been ruined. Not to the NHL extent(only based on what you say, cuz I have no idea), but nba is pretty awful.
I also have a hard time following my college team(UGA), because I can maybe see them on tv once a month, and can only read about them(not fun lol).
I did love hockey at the HS(i played for 4 years actually). I just dont find it fun to watch, except ocassioanlly live....but im not wasting my money on hockey games when I can try to go to football and baseball instead =]</P>

you know, at the game, I thought that trade was horrible, but today after looking at it again, Westbrook still hasn't done anything and Bowe's had one good game and two horrible ones I traded Jones for Vernon Davis, I'm starting slick Willie this week and believe he's going to do well, and am still willing to use Hester as a backup (If I can get something decent for Manningham)

In Boston its huge. The Beanpot tournament is one of the biggest sporting events every year. The Bruins are the biggest team in Boston after the Sox.

I have a friendfrom boston and he says the exact opposite. I mean, while they are huge behind the sox, he says the Bruins "craze" wasnt until recently. Thats not to say people didnt follow them or werent fans. But the way he describes it, it's like nobody even spoke of them before the last year or 2.
I wouldnt know obviously as I have never, and will never go to boston, so im just starting conversation basically =]</P>

He must be young. The Bruins are a religion in Boston. Starting with the greatest Hockey player ever, Bobby Orr. The old Garden was a nut house.</P>

See that Bandy- Greatest ever...[:D]</P>

Boston is a hockey town. Thats fur sure.</P>
