Have your wife propose a trade. I'll be much more complying.</P>

I do hope it works out for you (after this week).

the biggest winner in this trade is you, I have to start Hester this week because both Marshall and Johnson are on a bye.

Great. 89 years young. Thanks for asking. I love that man. Here is some info about him. Give it a read. I guess our family should have been alot more wealthy than we are. My dad didn't do to well either so I am trying to be the one. I am sure you will remember alot of this...

<span style="display: block;" class="long">Stan Irwin was born into a
show business family that dated back to vaudeville. Irwin, well
established as a pioneer and innovator in all area of show business,
was the producer of the Johnny Carson "Tonight Show" for two years and
for almost two decades Vice-President and Executive Production of the
Sahara-Nevada Corporation. His vast experience in the entertainment
world has included being a comedian, actor, and special material
writer, as well as an impresario.

Stan started in Vegas as a stand-up comedian at the Club Bingo which would 4 years later be the Sahara Hotel &amp; Casino.

Known as a creative thinker and discover of talent, he initiated major
performance practices in Las Vegas: he introduced "name acts" in Strip
hotel lounges as well as production shows, inaugurated the
"double-star" policy for concert performances, and was the first to
present Broadway theatre attractions. Some of his accomplishments
include:

1. First variety TV show (CBS) to emanate from Las Vegas.

2. First ice show in Las Vegas (starring Sonia Henie)

3. First to contract star performers in Lounges

4. First to produce artists from allied fields into the personal appearance arena.

5. First to present multiple comedians in the same show (The Comedy Hour/Stardust)

6. First to conceive converting a Caucasian Broadway show into an all
African American show ("Hello Dolly" starring Pearl Bailey).

7. First to conceive an all magic show for the Frontier Hotel

8. First to have contracted to "Four Wall" revue

9. First to have contracted stars on a guarantee against a per-head-count.

10. First to present a concert in the Houston Astrodome (July Garland, Diana Ross and the Supremes).

In July of 1955, it was determined that the entertainment at the Las
Vegas Dunes Hotel &amp; Casino needed a lift. Dunes asked Stan to
temporarily go back to his entertainment roots during his Club Bingo
days, and book at the resort which he agreed to do. As was when he
appeared at Club Bingo, Irwin was a hit with patrons and locals alike.
Even though Wally Cox (Mr. Peepers/voice of cartoon's Underdog) bombed
when he appeared at the resort, he complied with his contract
obligations showing up every night, even though the spotlight wasn't on
him. They attempted to release Cox from the contract but Cox refused,
wanting the money.

In 1956, Irwin and Louie Prima wrote the song Banana Split For My Baby
which Prima recorded. In October of 2003, Irwin told me that Prima had
asked him to write a song. Irwin said "Give me a title" and Prima
responded "Banana Split for My Baby".

In the 1950s, Irwin joined the acting crowd when he starred in an
episode of action drama series M-Squad starring Lee Marvin entitled Man
With The Ice along with Jean Willes, Joe Flynn, Jimmy Cross, and Al
Hodge.

In 1964, the Strip resorts rejected the idea of bringing the Beatles to
the Strip. The Fab Four had a target audience of teenagers in a city
that lures patrons over the age of 21. The Flamingo was the first to
turn this offer down and as all the other resort representatives were
turning the offer down, Irwin was thinking just the opposite. Irwin
took the chance and had the Sahara host the appearance. Irwin stated he
just knew that it would be benefit the Sahara, the Strip, and
ultimately the City of Las Vegas.

When the crowd was much more than expected, Irwin decided to have the
Beatles play at the Las Vegas Convention Center instead of the Sahara's
Congo Room. The Beatles did stay at the Sahara though. The pool area
was overrun with teenage girls, yelling "I love you Ringo!" as they
tried to get a glimpse of the stars up in their room.

Irwin was told that the Convention Center could hold approximately
7,000 people. Irwin rearranged the stage so it was surrounded by the
audience instead of just having the audience in front of the stage
thereby accommodating 8,408 people.

Irwin stated that when the Beatles were going to the car to go to the
Convention Center from Sahara, he and other Sahara personnel locked
arms forming a human barrier between the fans and the Beatles. Irwin
stated that the gravity of the situation was made all too clear when he
realized that if any of the human barrier tripped and fell, they all
could be trampled to death by the over-abundance of fans that were on
the scene.

Since Irwin was a comedian he saw the value of humor. After a fire
occurred at the Sahara, Irwin put slogans on the reconstruction walls
such as "We've heard of hot dice, but this is ridiculous", and "Dealers
and ladies first". Burned menus were given away to guests as souvenirs.

In 1968, Hanna-Barbera studios planned on creating the cartoon Bully
For Lou starring Abbott and Costello. Since Lou Costello had died in
1959, they needed someone who could imitate Costello's voice. Irwin was
hired to record Costello's voice. Others included Bud Abbott playing
himself, Janet Waldo, Mel Blanc, Hal Smith, John Stephenson, and Don
Messick. The release date was April 20, 1968.

Irwin wrote the lyrics and Lan O'Kun wrote the music "That's What God
Looks Like to Me" for Frank Sinatra. In October of 2003 I asked Irwin
about this song and he said he wrote it as a gift to Sinatra after
Sinatra's mother had passed away. Sinatra took his mother's death hard
and Irwin wrote the lyrics for the relationship they had.

Beyond his many theatrical enterprises, which include acting as
personal manager for the late Pearl Bailey and concert manager for
Johnny Carson, Irwin was involved in civil and political life. He
served for two years in the Nevada State Legislature and earned the
title "Toastmaster General of Las Vegas." In the latter capacity he
officiated for every civic, religious and charitable organization in
Southern Nevada. Enjoying performing, he toured the world as the
comedian on the late Pearl Bailey's USO shows.

Stan is presently involved in satellite communications, children's
books, television productions, home video productions, legitimate
theatre special event programming and entertainment gaming consultation.

Stan is also consultant/coordinator of the American Heart Association
and Stan Lee Media Project of Education through entertainment teaching
children ages 6 through 17 on how to prevent heart attacks.

Stan also held the following titles: Vice President, Executive Producer
- Sahara Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer - Sahara Hotel Lake
Tahoe; Vice President, Executive Producer - Mint Hotel; Vice President,
Executive Producer - Aladdin Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer
- Thunderbird Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer - Telstar
Satellite Corporation; Consultant for TV Specials - Lorimar Pictures;
Entertainment Consultant and Executive Producer - Bossier City Hotel,
L.A.</span>

6. First to conceive converting a Caucasian Broadway show into an all African American show ("Hello Dolly" starring Pearl Bailey).

In July of 1955, it was determined that the entertainment at the Las Vegas Dunes Hotel &amp; Casino needed a lift. Dunes asked Stan to temporarily go back to his entertainment roots during his Club Bingo days, and book at the resort which he agreed to do. As was when he appeared at Club Bingo, Irwin was a hit with patrons and locals alike. Even though Wally Cox (Mr. Peepers/voice of cartoon's Underdog) bombed when he appeared at the resort, he complied with his contract obligations showing up every night, even though the spotlight wasn't on him. They attempted to release Cox from the contract but Cox refused, wanting the money.

In 1956, Irwin and Louie Prima wrote the song Banana Split For My Baby which Prima recorded. In October of 2003, Irwin told me that Prima had asked him to write a song. Irwin said "Give me a title" and Prima responded "Banana Split for My Baby".

In the 1950s, Irwin joined the acting crowd when he starred in an episode of action drama series M-Squad starring Lee Marvin entitled Man With The Ice along with Jean Willes, Joe Flynn, Jimmy Cross, and Al Hodge.

In 1964, the Strip resorts rejected the idea of bringing the Beatles to the Strip. The Fab Four had a target audience of teenagers in a city that lures patrons over the age of 21. The Flamingo was the first to turn this offer down and as all the other resort representatives were turning the offer down, Irwin was thinking just the opposite. Irwin took the chance and had the Sahara host the appearance. Irwin stated he just knew that it would be benefit the Sahara, the Strip, and ultimately the City of Las Vegas.

When the crowd was much more than expected, Irwin decided to have the Beatles play at the Las Vegas Convention Center instead of the Sahara's Congo Room. The Beatles did stay at the Sahara though. The pool area was overrun with teenage girls, yelling "I love you Ringo!" as they tried to get a glimpse of the stars up in their room.

Irwin was told that the Convention Center could hold approximately 7,000 people. Irwin rearranged the stage so it was surrounded by the audience instead of just having the audience in front of the stage thereby accommodating 8,408 people.

Irwin stated that when the Beatles were going to the car to go to the Convention Center from Sahara, he and other Sahara personnel locked arms forming a human barrier between the fans and the Beatles. Irwin stated that the gravity of the situation was made all too clear when he realized that if any of the human barrier tripped and fell, they all could be trampled to death by the over-abundance of fans that were on the scene.

Since Irwin was a comedian he saw the value of humor. After a fire occurred at the Sahara, Irwin put slogans on the reconstruction walls such as "We've heard of hot dice, but this is ridiculous", and "Dealers and ladies first". Burned menus were given away to guests as souvenirs.

In 1968, Hanna-Barbera studios planned on creating the cartoon Bully For Lou starring Abbott and Costello. Since Lou Costello had died in 1959, they needed someone who could imitate Costello's voice. Irwin was hired to record Costello's voice. Others included Bud Abbott playing himself, Janet Waldo, Mel Blanc, Hal Smith, John Stephenson, and Don Messick. The release date was April 20, 1968.

Irwin wrote the lyrics and Lan O'Kun wrote the music "That's What God Looks Like to Me" for Frank Sinatra. In October of 2003 I asked Irwin about this song and he said he wrote it as a gift to Sinatra after Sinatra's mother had passed away. Sinatra took his mother's death hard and Irwin wrote the lyrics for the relationship they had.

Beyond his many theatrical enterprises, which include acting as personal manager for the late Pearl Bailey and concert manager for Johnny Carson, Irwin was involved in civil and political life. He served for two years in the Nevada State Legislature and earned the title "Toastmaster General of Las Vegas." In the latter capacity he officiated for every civic, religious and charitable organization in Southern Nevada. Enjoying performing, he toured the world as the comedian on the late Pearl Bailey's USO shows.

Stan is presently involved in satellite communications, children's books, television productions, home video productions, legitimate theatre special event programming and entertainment gaming consultation.

Stan is also consultant/coordinator of the American Heart Association and Stan Lee Media Project of Education through entertainment teaching children ages 6 through 17 on how to prevent heart attacks.

Stan also held the following titles: Vice President, Executive Producer - Sahara Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer - Sahara Hotel Lake Tahoe; Vice President, Executive Producer - Mint Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer - Aladdin Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer - Thunderbird Hotel; Vice President, Executive Producer - Telstar Satellite Corporation; Consultant for TV Specials - Lorimar Pictures; Entertainment Consultant and Executive Producer - Bossier City Hotel, L.A.</SPAN>

Yeah man, and now he is a greeter at Walmart with tons of bills and ****. That is why he always stressed to me the importance of saving and spending your money properly. I wish I could get rich before he dies so I could spoil him and let him feel free. It kills me to know he works there but he does enjoy it. He plays alot of tennis to. I love him more than my dad. He is the greatest person on the planet to me. I went to LA every year to his house from when I was 3 years to 21 and would stay for all of August.

The Beatles would get hair cuts all the time. My grandpa had an idea to take the hair from each Beatle. Laminate it and sell it for a nickle. The manager of the Beatles told him he was nuts and that never would have done anything. Could you imagine how much a piece of John Lennons hair would be. Elvis hair just sold for like $35000 at an auction. My Grandpa is a man of genius. He used to roll down the strip in a convertible throwing silver dollars to people on the road. lol

Great. 89 years young. Thanks for asking. I love that man. Here is some info about him. Give it a read. I guess our family should have been alot more wealthy than we are. My dad didn't do to well either so I am trying to be the one. I am sure you will remember alot of this...

<SPAN style="DISPLAY: block" class=long>Stan Irwin was born into a show business family that dated back to vaudeville. Irwin, well established as a pioneer and innovator in all area of show business, was the producer of the Johnny Carson "Tonight Show" for two years and for almost two decades Vice-President and Executive Production of the Sahara-Nevada Corporation. His vast experience in the entertainment world has included being a comedian, actor, and special material writer, as well as an impresario.

Stan started in Vegas as a stand-up comedian at the Club Bingo which would 4 years later be the Sahara Hotel &amp; Casino.

Known as a creative thinker and discover of talent, he initiated major performance practices in Las Vegas: he introduced "name acts" in Strip hotel lounges as well as production shows, inaugurated the "double-star" policy for concert performances, and was the first to present Broadway theatre attractions. Some of his accomplishments include:

I have a very small family though. Mom, Dad, Sister, Aunt, Uncle, 2 cousins, Gma and Gpa. I never talked to my mom until I was 14 and don't know anyone from her side of the family. Her mom is alive but is like mental in Texas and her dad died when I was 20. I never met him. She has like 5 sisters and 2 brothers but I have not met any of them.

Yea i mean, half of me says, you cant just take a guy out after having a decent year, cuz he slumping a bit....but then realistically, you cant slump in the playoffs. Ya gotta change SOMETHING.
I like Gardner. I think that if he's patient at the plate, and can get on base, he's just another speed threat that we need. I think we should start him.

"WR Hines Ward said he's running deeper routes than he has in a long time. The change was by design, which is why his average yards per catch has ballooned to 14.6, higher than ever as a starter."</P>

"WR Hines Ward leads the NFL with 41 receptions and 599 receiving yards. He never led the NFL in his previous 11 seasons."

Hines Ward (and our Steve Smith btw) are both #2 WR's their statistics have no bearing on whether they are a #1 or #2 at all, so throw out every statistic you want, none of them mean anything at all, so it's not going to change my opinion.

Santonio Holmes draws more coverage and is the bigger threat, defenses think Santonio Holmes first and Hines Ward second, Santonio Holmes is the CLEAR #1 WR in Pit this year...no doubt about it.

you are incorrect, Hines Ward is not Pit's #1 Santonio Holmes is, he draws more coverage and is the bigger threat every play.

our Steve Smith is a great Possession receiver, perhaps the best, but he never does anything after the catch and he rarely gets open deep, he's just not a #1 we don't "Really" have a #1 but if we had to decide on one it'd have to be Manningham or Nicks.

It's got nothing to do with their height speed or any physical attribute, but generally faster taller receivers do end up being #1's it's not a requirement but it does generally work out that way...

the other Steve Smith for example is and exception, so is Santana Moss

Good for you!

I don't, I think it's more about being a deep threat and being able to dictate coverages due to your "Threat" level persay..

Hines Wards gonna get open over the middle for first downs, that's just how it is, and you need that guy, same with our Steve Smith and Wes Welker, but they aren't going to run 50 yards down field and jump over two defenders for a TD....they aren't game changing type players (in one play) they methodically move the team down the field, they are chain movers, they are not like Calvin Johnson Andre Johnson Randy Moss, Steve Smith (car) or Santana Moss...those types of WR's, they are just not those guys...there is nothing WRONG with that though as everyone seems to think there is.

Santonio Holmes draws more coverage and is the bigger threat, defenses think Santonio Holmes first and Hines Ward second, Santonio Holmes is the CLEAR #1 WR in Pit this year...no doubt about it.
its funny that if a guy is tall you'll call him the go-to guy, if hes short hes the possession guy Steve Smith is our #1 regardless of what you say just like Hines is the #1 for Pitt</P>

There is no #1 and #2 in Pittsburgh. Each has his own role. You guys get caught up in these silly arguments. All its really about in semantics.</P>

no its not, since when is being a #1 WR not about producing or causing teams to game plan against you</P>

Defense game plan against the entire offense, but I get your point. MY point was that in Pittsburgh (and I'm just talking about Pittsburgh) there is no clear cut #1 or #2. Its WR by commitee.</P>

In NE, Moss is clearly #1. In Indy it Wayne.etc.... But in Pittsburgh its different. NY (Giants too)</P>

You are being foolish. IF there was a #1 in NY, (and I don't think there is) it would definately be Steve Smith. He has not just been a possesion receiver. he has also been a deep threat. He has become a complete WR. </P>

MM is still far too inconsistent to be considered a #1 receiver. Maybe someday, but not now.</P>

Owens is close, honestly tho I would say that its too close to crown either way...

To just crown Edwards is ignorant seeing as how his dropsies came back, that first week honeymoon is over already. Lets see what happens when a healthy cotchery is out there with him.

Well we all know ur wrong with Holmes as we've destroyed ur backbone of ur argument about the coverage

With the changeover of WRs in cleve you owuld have to say its Mass but it ain't official.

Kenny Britt doens't even start in Tennessee

Keep riding that Roy train... ur gonna end up busted. I was drinking that gravey too, but he may be the biggest bust of WRs this year.

Manningham and Nicks are splitting time, I don't think that makes them a #1, I would hope that you at least would agree taht u have to start to be a #1

Housh and Jennings I won't argue with too much because ur talking within 20 yards and 2 catches and they def get teh coverage...

but technically to this point in the season Driver and Burleson have had the better years, making them the #1s

bigblue4417

#1 doesn't technically have anything to do with their statistics so whether Driver and Burleson have more yards/TDs/Receptions etc etc.... is completely irrelevant to the argument of whether they are the #1 or not.

and overwelming increase of numbers makes it clear..

I would agree that in Sea and GB its close enough that its not decided one way or another, but when someone has 13 more receptions, 160 more yards, more big plays, more tds, and gets the top coverage -- its not even debatable...

its funny that u still contend that Holmes gets the special attention in coverage even though i've physically showed you that isn't the case at all

daven your whole point is coverage and #1 CB attention...

i already showed you thru the highlights how misinformed that is and that Ward actually gets the #1 CBs on him. You said he runs short routes, that was proven wrong. I dont even know what your argument reasons are anymore that HOlmes is the #1

No, you haven't you picked out a couple times where the coverage was shaded the way you wanted it to be, overall you are wrong, Santonio draws more coverage then Ward.

You said he runs short routes, that was proven wrong.

No, it wasn't it was proven that he's running longer routes then HE used to, changing from a 5 yard in to a 7 yard in does not mean he's running deep patterns he's still running short patterns.

I dont even know what your argument reasons are anymore that HOlmes is the #1

#1) He draws more Coverage from the defense.
#2) he runs deeper routes.
#3) he can more consistently beat single coverage from the opponents best CB
#4) he can more consistently beat Double Coverages
#5) he can more consistently blow by a Saftey.
#6) he's better after the catch.
#7) He's faster
#8) he's Taller
#9) he can jump higher

I mean I could go on and on but whats the point, you are just gonna say that all my points are wrong because "You say so"

what do you mean "I" picked. What do i work for NFL network? Do i cut the clips and make hte highlight reel? I took the liongest highlight real i could find and not only on passing plays but running plays were these guys lined up on Ward... i don't want to hear it.

No, cause I don't care enough to do so...I know I'm right, many other people agree, and it's an opinion to begin with in the first place (it's an opinion on what the #1 WR means)

so again, this is all irrelevant, continue to cling to your Statistics like a security blanket...Izbo2

I didn't claim you altered anything, I claimed you did exactly what I would have done, you went out, found video of Ward covered by #1 CB's...good for you, I "could" go out and find video of Holmes covered by #1 CB's too, they move around, but in generally they are on Holmes...but of course, you wouldn't link any video that proved you wrong (neither would I)
