bad snap/hold by Feagles.
Bull****!!! The snap and hold was perfect. He just didn't kick the ****ing ball. Not sure if Tynes thought it was a fake or what. It was totally Tynes fault. That was just horrible.

Oh I dunno the whole game is rolling like a nightmare in my head...I am looknig foward to a NO football BYE week. WEll I will watch PAts- COlts on Sun. night !!!

Maybe right now, our player just aren't quite good enough. Call it injuries, call it JR. Call it a competitive league, call it whatever you want.

Our players haven't been getting it done. Whining about the coaching doesn't change that fact.

Whining about players not executing when the coaches are putting the players in a position to fail isn't going to change anything Morehead, its the COACHING that's been horrible during this losing streak there is not denying that...unless you are being...hysterical.

r u serious bandy ???

did u watch the game ?

When u pay Eli $115 mil. and than take th eball out of his hands @ the 5 yd. line with Rivers and the Chargers left with loads of time left and down by 6....that's BAD Coaching don't u think ???

Do u think B.Cowher would' been scared to try and punch one in with Ben and co. ???

No because he has balls and he had a little faith in his QB. It's not 2004 anymore....Eli is a veteran Quarterback who has engineered many game-winning drives...If the organization/ coaching staff has enuff faith in him to make himthe HIGHEST paid QB in the game than they should let him try and win a game for us !!!

Yeah good call....I think both MJD and Micke Turner will BOTH be drafted before Peterson in FF leagues next season. Peterson is over-reated !!!

I think that Coughlin and company had faith in the defense. They played conservative and I don't like that but they still had to drive all the way down the field and score. The kick off was horrible, don't forget that and we blitzed way too much that last drive. Should have just rushed 4 and made it hard for Rivers. There is definitely a problem but I don't think the O was to blame that week. If Tynes kicked that FG we would not bet talking about this today. Feagles is also starting to kill us.

No idea why we decided to run a draw to Jacobs on a 3 & 15.....that was the point I thought losing the game was a very real possibility.

Then we had a perfect opportunity for our Defense....1:45 left and S.D. has 1 Timeout to march 80 yards to score a TD. Any D Coor. should be able to call the right plays in that situation right? Wrong....Sheridan sends our OLB's and drops Tuck into coverage!

depends who's taking snaps on the other side Bandy...

If it's T.Brady, Rivers, Brees, Roethlisberger, Warner than YES I think tkain gthe 3 is a bad choice. If u go for it there and we don't get it than Rivers has to start @ the 3 with 1:20 on the clock....I like that

so what happens if you don't getany points out of it and you have those same QB's having more time plus more timeouts at there disposal??andknow you bring up the possibilty of a tie or a win into the realm of possibility.... those 4 plays (fg included) took off 1:07 off the clock and made them burn 2 timeouts.. i don't see a problem with it..

to go 80 yards with less than 2 minutes left with only 1 (or none) timeout is probably one of the hardest things to do in the NFL.. almost as hard as it is for Tynes to get a touchback..lol

Me either. The Defense should have been able to stop them. The coaching staff had faith.

to go 80 yards with less than 2 minutes left with only 1 (or none) timeout is probably one of the hardest things to do in the NFL.. almost as hard as it is for Tynes to get a touchback..lol

They didn't even have a 3rd down on the last drive. The D let them march down the field. I don't know what is happening or why but it really sucks.

so what happens if you don't getany points out of it and you have those same QB's having more time plus more timeouts at there disposal??andknow you bring up the possibilty of a tie or a win into the realm of possibility.... those 4 plays (fg included) took off 1:07 off the clock and made them burn 2 timeouts.. i don't see a problem with it..

they didn't use the time out anyhow, the points are nice, it was a tough decision, but putting them back deep, with the fan noise in that situation, when they clearly have no running game is the right call IMHO...there is no way Rivers would have been successful throwing out of that Endzone...IF Eli didn't get the ball in the endzone in the first place.

look at the plus's and minus's Bandy.

Kick the Field goal...puts you up by more then 3...that's all.

Going for the TD either puts you up by two scores (game over) OR puts Rivers in the hardest situation possible for a QB, starting deep in you own territory, and if we hold them, game over.

Time...really wasn't an issue either way, anything more then a minute with a time out is enough time for a potent offense to get down the field without much trouble.

we played too conservative, period...yeah I ALSO thought we were going to stop them, but it felt wrong, we had a chance to put it away, we didn't we KNEW we were giving them enough time to score, and went ahead and took the 3 points anyhow...that's bad on Coughlin, but we never should have gotten to that point, Gilbride made a slew of bad decisions leading up to that point, and Sherridan made some horrible playcalls on that last drive, I put this lose squarely on the Coaching Squad.

Jacobs was playing well (but we didn't use him) Eli wasn't bad, our defense played great...up until the last drive....it was just terrible coaching across the board....the players did not play bad.

One way we have a chance to put the game out of reach, the other way we don't...and it just so happens that even if the play to put the game out of reach doesn't work, it gives the defense a LARGE advantage over the other option....even if we got stopped short of the endzone, they end up with a longer field to go down, more chances for a defense to come up with a stop, more crowd noise for Rivers to deal with, it was a win win to try for it, if you make it, you win, if you don't you give your defense a huge advantage.

you expect the NY D to stop SD offense near their goal line but not when they start at the 20 ??

Of course! when an offense is backed up to the goal line in the opposing teams stadium that's the toughest situation in football for an offense, it's a HUGE advantage to the defense....and even if they DID overcome that (which I don't think they would have) we would have had more chances to stop them from getting a TD....if they choose the field goal root they choose it, it's not like Giants Stadium is a gimme for FG's, at least you can't blame the coaching at that point, it comes down to a coin flip.

It just sounds to me like you are giving up and I hate that. We are not out of it by any means. We are still ranked 7 in the NFC. The season is not over by any means. We could still make the playoffs and that all starts with a big win over ATL that will give us the tiebreaker.

There is no question that TC played way too conservative in that last series. But at 1st and goal from the 14 we threw a swing pass, (SD was lined up at the goal line on all 3 plays). Then he got too conservative. But you guys talk like we definately would have scored if we threw the ball in the endzone. We probably would not have.

The real point is that scoring a TD in the last 2 minutes on an 80 yard drive is HIGHLY unlikely. We should not have allowed it. A six point lead is huge when compared to a 3 point lead.

And I don't want to hear all this crap about blitzing either. How many here have complained about playing prevent defense. We had given up 143 yards all game by playing the defense we did.

my point is, try to win the game, if you don't you put your defense in a great position anyhow, what we did was play conservative, took the points to keep it away from a tie, and gave their offense much better field position.

That stadium was LOUD, put Rivers inside the 10...he wasn't getting out of there, I think it's infinitely harder to score starting from the 5 yard line then it is from the 20....

Bandy, I agree that TC put us in the best CHANCE to win, and that's exactly why we lost. We needed to ensure that this game was not left up to chance because of the effect it will have on us going forward.

He should have taken the CHANCE to guarantee the win. Come ON! We have to score when we were on the 4 yard line early in the game, and we don't take the opportunity. Then we have the opportunity to put the game away at the end, and we run it on 3rd and 15....there is no explanation for that.

Lets be fair here. TC had every intention of putting the nail in the coffin with a TD. Unfortunately we had a catastrophic holding penalty that put us in 1st and 14. We threw a pass on first and THEN he got conservative. Its not like we didn't have every intention on scoring from the 4.

Should TC have been less conservative? Perhaps. Did it cost us the game? Probably not.

If the defense had not let SD march down the field 80 yards for a TD, would we have won? YES.

The players simply blew it on the field.

not too mention 1 timeout left aswell..

Which they didn't even have to use.

my point is, try to win the game, if you don't you put your defense in a great position anyhow, what we did was play conservative, took the points to keep it away from a tie, and gave their offense much better field position.

That stadium was LOUD, put Rivers inside the 10...he wasn't getting out of there, I think it's infinitely harder to score starting from the 5 yard line then it is from the 20....

Are you suggesting we should have gone for it on 4th down? Thats interesting but if you fail the field becomes much shorter to get to FG position. Of course it probably would only have been a tie and go to OT. It is interesting though.

Hindsight says yes, but...well...you know.....

Yup, but it's not hindsight, I said it at the game too, 2 or the 3 other people I went with agreed the other guy was all about making it more then a FG.

Point is if you make it, you win, if you don't, you put the offense in the worst position possible, 2 min drill, starting inside the 5....

If they make it out (which is a big if) then they make it out, they still have to drive all the way down the field..more opportunities for a mistake and such anyhow works over I'm heading out later.

In my view, we got beat because of the penalties last night. Especially the holding call at the 4 yard line. This team seems to be finding different ways to lose right now. Defense one day, Eli the next day, penalties the next.

We can whine about the coach all we want, but ultimately the coach doesn't win or lose football game on game day. The players have to make the plays to win, and not make the bad plays to lose.

We're in a funk. We need to make good use of this bye week.

Agreed! If he can't, then there is absolutely NO reason why he should be getting paid more than his brother.

I wonder too, if Coughlin doesn't want to try this b/c it doesn't comply with his philosophy of maintaining the ball and eating up the clock

That is proof that coaching changes need to be made. We have $100 million dollar qb but Gilbride and Voughlin refuse to let him go no huddle and manage the game
You know he could do it to. I would love to see Eli do this. We all know he can.
im actually a bit mad at eli for not changing the play at line on that 3rd down. im also mad at sheridan for switching to a prevent defense on the last drive. just awful.
