normal amount, they just muliply everything by 10, because they want all the yardage...

like a 13 yard run is 13 pts, and a TD instead of being 6 is 60.

Speaking for the kicking, Feagles son is a punter in college right?...so when he's ready, is he going to take over for his father? that would be awesome.
Imagine them both on the same team, itd be like Gordie Howe and his sons playing for the Whalers I believe
</p>

daven..fyi Gordie Howe is a famoussoccerlike player..</p>LMAO, he's the Pele or whoever you consider to be a famous soccer player of that funny mix between curling and soccer

LOL!!!!!!!

you mean somebody actually records history on that funky Ice Soccer game you canucks play?

Gordie Howe is a hilarious name btw, no wonder he's still remembered, it's his name not his skill at that weird game you guys play.
And your All Time Hands Down GREATEST player averaged only 5 goals per season..... What a pitiful sport

did Pele knock people out with his elbows too.. man soccer is a rough sport.. </p>

LOL Pele knocked players out by rolling around on the ground pretending that he is injured and accidentally hitting them, gordie knocked people out with his hands
</p>

i assume you spent some time in the penalty box so how many Gordie Howe hat tricks did you get in your Hockey career..</p>LMAO, there were times that if I realized that I had a goal and an assist Id do everything in my power to scrap short of sucker-punching... So you can say I had alot of em, too bad it isnt an offical stat

For all the non fans of hockey 'Gordie Howe Hat Trick' - 1goal, 1assist &amp; 1 fight in the same game

Let me just make a few points here.</p>

1. Its hard to believe that a day after our kicker made a game winning FG in OT, everyone is whining about our kicker. I saw one post a few pages ago that claimed that 81% is pitiful Tynes is not a great kicker, but he's a solid NFL kicker. We aren'tgoing to do any better picking up a guy off the street.</p>

</p>

2. The problem with our defense has very little if anything to do with our DC. Our defense is now, and has always been dependent on our pass rush. The rush in the first half was very good and the defense played well as a product. In the second half it got steadily worse, until it was non existent in the 4th quarter.</p>

You can't give an NFL QB all day to find receivers. He WILL find them. No secondary can cover for ever.</p>

</p>

3. How can anyone complain about KG yesterday. We found a weekness in the Atlanta secondary and worked it all day. Our offense did a great job and the play calling was just fine.</p>

</p>

4. WE WON.. And it was a HUGE and DESPERATELY NEEDED win. Winning is</p>

what matters.</p>

</p>

From one week to another, NFL teams are hard to read. (like us) I expect a good performance on Thursday.</p>

BE HAPPY. (Plus Team Morehead is on a roll)</p>

a) our kicker is the reason we were into the overtime... its the same thing as the NFC championship game... all people remember is the last kick, what about the ones before it he missed... lets get real, hes the WORST in the league in FGs 20-39 yards.. its a fact lol infact hes the only one to of missed one form 20-29 yards that wasn't blocked!

b) na i agree... our issues is personel... i just hate how we don't mask our blitzes

c) i agree... Gilbride called a good game yesterday... a couple of questionable decisions... but he didn't kill us. Aggressive at the endzone, which is a change.

d) i am definitly happy, but probably not as happy as i should be... the fact that we almost blew it again is still hanging on me. It seems like teams can throw at will on us when they want to... it reminds me of hte 06 season.

I hope we can put it on the broncos
</p>

Once in a while, a kicker will miss short FG's.</p>

Tynes does it.</p>

Carney did it.</p>

Morton Anderson did it. (the greatest kicker of all time)</p>

Feely did it.</p>

Baar did it.</p>

Ali Haji Sheek did it.</p>

Pete Gogolak did it.</p>

He's not a great kicker. But you sound a little (actually a lot) like Daven with your "He's the worst kicker in the history of this or any other universe" point. Kind of like "we have the worst WR's in the NFL"</p>

Yessir....Downright Davenlike.</p>
lol i may sound like daven but ur coming across as a homer...

Usually kickers who are frantic and miss those easy ones can at least make up for it for being a deep weapon for long FGs... yea he doesn't have that either.

We dont even attempt a kick if its 50 or more. Nobody has missed more short kicks than Tynes and he can't kick a long ball... what exactly is so good about him that we wouldn't want to look else where?

MattMeyerBud

</p>

stop being stupid, yes, kickers miss field goals occasionally, noone questions that, the problem is Tynes misses more then most, and misses the easy ones more then anyone in the nfl right now....and that's unacceptable.
</p>

and on top of that, he has such a short leg that we don't even attempt 50 yarders with him. The last time he even attempted one was in 2006

MattMeyerBud
11-24-2009, 09:39 AM
and Kase --- Boley was beasting yesterday.. looked good..

but it was against his former team.. he doesn't normally play that intensely.. if he does then he may be my next new jersey

Oh you KNOW I was happy bout that..... being the Boley Bandwagon leader that I was, now if we can only get (or mold) another 2 or 3 LBs like him

He def had a ROARING fire under his wahzoo yesterday, but he always plays consistently good with speed, power, and skill. In the games he played with us, he looks like our best LB since Jesse

whoa whoa whoa... don't take a mile when i give an inch lol...

lets not put him on Jesse's level yet lol..

i wouldn't even give him Michael Barrow's level yet

nobody is saying the middle of the defense isn't a huge concern.. the topic at hand is the kicker tho... just like it is saftey play, defensive gameplanning, and linebacker coverage...

but to say kicker isn't a concern? That is surprising coming form u moorehead, honestly. Having somebody who obviously is never a lock for 3 points is a HUGE issue. I can't believe u'd even take that opinion

Our kicking AND punting are suspect and high on the list of problems but LBs and Safety's are much more so a priority, as well as our O-Line's inconsistency, what we can only win the trench battle when we play D-Lines full of suckers like ATL?!?!?!?!
</p>

1. coverage in the secondary</p>

2. pass rush</p>

3. Getting Pierce back</p>

4. Losing Phillips</p>

5. Consistency at QB</p>

6. Lane dicipline on the D line</p>

7. Fans like Daven</p>

8. Linebacker depth</p>

9. Matt's curse on Eli</p>

10. O line not playing as well as last year</p>

11. BJ having an off year</p>

12. Dissapearance of Bradshaw</p>

13. Getting Ware more involved in the offense</p>

14. Hixon not returning kicks like he used to.</p>

15. Beer prices at the Stadium</p>

16. Spikes getting stuck in turf a lot on the home field</p>

17. No veteran WR's</p>

18. Kick off coverage</p>

19. PSL's</p>

20. Eli's messy hair</p>

21. What am I cooking for dinner tonight?</p>

Blondie's curse... just look at her fantasy teams, baseball team once she saw them live, and hand shaking eli...

BLONDIES curse.

having a kicker miss 4 FGs by week 11 from the 20-39 yard range is a HUGE problem. Especially cuz his leg is so weak that he hasn't even attempted a 50 yarder in 3 years

Plus Lando loses credibility after he told me I would be stupid to start Snelling over Driver in the flex position on my team.</p>

That was not sound advice sir. I was trying to sabotage you. I noticed before the games started you changed it back. I was not happy about it....lol
</p>

I changed it at about 12:30. Just before the games. That was a +17 point decision. (I still would have won but it would have been much more stressful) This is the first time in a long while that I have nothing riding on the Monday night game.</p>

And I am very thankful!</p>

Not me. I want see CJ go CRAZY!!!
</p>

As i said yesterday, after all his "bye" talk last week it would be appropriate for Lando to lose by one point to Dezz.</p>

And as I said yesterday, all that talk was before his great trade. I would not have made those comments with the team he has now. One point though? That is kind of barbaric...
</p>

The trade helped both of us. I am now officially "LandoLight"</p>

</p>

There's going to be a game in the next few eeks where Addai doesn't score and get something like 3 or 4 points. Thats what I was trying to avoid with that trade.</p>

Honestly, complaining about the kicker, KG and Sheridan are all very cliche and unoriginal to me.</P>

So I challenge it when I see it. I don't really think that Tynes is all that good of a kicker, nor however do I think he's "the worst kicker in the NFL". The guy is over 80% and has made 2 game winning kicks this year. And under that kind of pressure (especially the Dallas kick) thats not a small thing.</P>

How would you like to be a Texans fan and have your guy miss 2 straight kicks to tie the game at the end for two horrible losses?</P>

Ali became champ in '64 and fought for 4 years (undefeated) as Champion before he was suspended. Those 4 years were his prime. And he was as good as anyone ever was during that time. When he came back, he was still a great fighter but not quite as fast as he was. His problem is that he fought too long after he was past his prime.</P>

He may have not been the greatest fighter of all time, but he was close. And he certainly was the greatest technical boxer. The only thing he lacked was the hammer KO punch. But he revolutionized the way fighters boxed.</P>

I didn't think it would help my argument. I don't have one. I love our kicker.

Trent Dilfer was pissed last night. Kicker has one job, blah blah blah. I also found something he said interesting. Something to the effect of "You can't miss 2 in a row. If you miss the last one make sure you make the next one."

Regardless is it inexcusable to miss a FG shorter than 30 yards in my mind. That is your only job. However as I stated Lawrence Party Tynes is clutch. You know he will make the game winner.

Jay Feely anyone? I don't recall who the kicker was before him but I would take Tynes over that guy to.

The grass is always greener, babe......</p>

Well im not trying to be cliche.. when I complain its because somebdoy isn't doing their job well enough. Complaining that the kicker misses more short FGs than any other kicker in the league and is so mediocre that we dont even attempt long balls with him. That may be unoriginal, but unfortunately its also true and a major issue.

over 80% is really not that good, especially when you don't attempt long kicks and have the most misses from 20-39 yards lol... thats not a good thing moorehead.

14 teams is too many... it SUCKS.. im in one now and there is never anyone too pick up or anything is bad... im probably gonna run 2 next year unless some people drop out (which im hoping not!) well just have to divide it up into 2 leagues of maybe 10 people each, i know other people were intrested too</p>

yea 14 team leagues do suck...

so do flex leagues... just sayin
</p>

I had no opinion before when the structure of the league was set, for obvious reasons. But it now seems to me that having the field 3 WR's would be a bit more interesting.</p>

it does, it takes less of a strain off of RBs.. which avoids having a RB fueled league and puts more on the WRs and QBs...

I certainly don't consider myself a boxing historian but I WAS there for all of his career. And followed heavyweight boxing closely for a long time. I can tell you that he was suspended for PART of his prime. But the 3+years he fought after his first fight with Liston was unmatched.</P>

But agian, HIS problem was fighting after the fight with Foreman. He should have hung them up at that point. If he had, he would be considered the undisputed greatest fighter of all time.</P>

Plus, you just cant imagine how good the heavyweight ranks were then. There were 4 all time greats, fighting at the same time, basically all in there prime. Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton.</P>

Any other examples or you going to keep coming back to that ONE game...

Also it was one of the coldest games in NFL history. I would imagine the ball was hard to kick.

He also made 3 FG's in that game and the game winner was a 47 yarder which happened to be the longest FG ever kicked to win a game in Lambeau Field history.

Give the guy some credit. I am with you he should never miss the short ones. But come on.

Tynes MAKES the game close by missing easy kicks, Kris Brown is being asked to WIN games for Houston by making long kicks.

if Houston had Tynes instead of Brown, they wouldn't have even ATTEMPTED to win the games there, if we had Kris Brown we never would have needed the last second field goals because he wouldn't have missed the 20-30 yarders earlier in the game.

the only reason he had the chance to kick these game winners is because he failed to make the easier ones during the course of the game, do you "LIKE" the fact that our FG kicker misses more short kicks then any other kicker in the NFL...

Formal negotiations in an effort to make a megafight between pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the first part of 2010 will open Monday, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told ESPN.com.

that put me to midnight..

and although i would want Pacman to beat that ****y **** down... i think he takes too many hits, he wouldn't be able to survive mayweather. I didn't see the fight but from what i read, Cotto stunned him a few times.

Plus Mayweather is the best pound for pound of all time... as much as it sickens me to say it.

He may have not been the greatest fighter of all time, but he was close. And he certainly was the greatest technical boxer. The only thing he lacked was the hammer KO punch. But he revolutionized the way fighters boxed.</P>

Plus he was the greatest ambassador of the sport while he fought. Every fighter today has Ali to thank. There may not even be a sport still if not for him.</P>

But agian, HIS problem was fighting after the fight with Foreman. He should have hung them up at that point. If he had, he would be considered the undisputed greatest fighter of all time.</P>

Also it was one of the coldest games in NFL history. I would imagine the ball was hard to kick.

He also made 3 FG's in that game and the game winner was a 47 yarder which happened to be the longest FG ever kicked to win a game in Lambeau Field history.

Tynes has been shaky so far this season, and is probably another bad

This will be a helluva fight, Pacquiao is the only person strong, quick, and agile enough to counter Mayweather's speed and precision.

Mayweather needs to take this fight to establish himself as the best boxer of all time, because up to this point, his only real notable wins were against Diego Corrales, Luis Castillo and De La Hoya....and while those were all huge fights, this is BY FAR his toughest opponent he will face in his career, and he needs to beat the best pound for pound in the world before he goes down as the greatest of all time.

News: Tynes made 2-of-3 field goals including the game-winner in overtime, but missed a 31-yarder.
Spin: Tynes has been shaky so far this season, and is probably another bad miss or two from being cut. For now, he's still the team's lone kicker.

ESPNs opinion... just saying...

and im sorry, making a 31 yarder in overtime isn't clutch because

A) its a 31 yarder, if you can't make it, you dont deserve to be in the pros,
B) he just missed a previous 31 yarder, its called trying to not get cut

</p>

[Y] point well proven. one more miss... he BETTER be gone before next season or its gonna get ugly.........</p>

I personally don't think he has one more miss, I think he'd better be gone next season already.

he keeps getting lucky that he is getting these opportunities to kick gam winners...

if he didnt, there would be no redemption and he would of been cut alraedy more than likely...

but another bad miss from close, i think hes def gone

OH ****!!!!

Plus Mayweather is the best pound for pound of all time... as much as it sickens me to say it.

ali never fought in his prime, so we can't really tell about him
</P>

Plus he was the greatest ambassador of the sport while he fought. Every fighter today has Ali to thank. There may not even be a sport still if not for him.</P>

i know ALOT of boxing historians that would say he was suspended during his prime years.

yea i get that, but im just talking bear bones fighting..
</P>

All of them beat one or more of the other 3.</P>

na I hear ya.. i mean trust me im not taking anything away form Ali... but Mayweathers speed, strength, and accuracy is unmatched. Its like people can throw whatever they want at him and he lauhs at them... and the strength, accuracy and speed all gets better as the fight goes on... hes a freak

This will be a helluva fight, Pacquiao is the only person strong, quick, and agile enough to counter Mayweather's speed and precision.

Mayweather needs to take this fight to establish himself as the best boxer of all time, because up to this point, his only real notable wins were against Diego Corrales, Luis Castillo and De La Hoya....and while those were all huge fights, this is BY FAR his toughest opponent he will face in his career, and he needs to beat the best pound for pound in the world before he goes down as the greatest of all time.
i thought de la hoya beat him, but thats just me. he gave him a good enough fight to warrent a rematch thats for damn sure.

No, I don't. I hate it. It pisses me off more than anything obviously.

Obviously not, since you keep supporting Tynes and proping him up as a "Game Winning" Kicker and completely ignoring the fact that he misses easy FG's more then any other kicker.

There is no excuse for that and he should never miss them but I would rather have a kicker that misses the easy ones and nails the clutch ones ala Tynes than one who nails the easy ones and misses the game winners ala Brown.

you ****ER....how do you not understand that the only reason those late ones are "clutch" as you say they are, is because he ****ing FAILED in the first place...

Missing an easy FG in the 2nd quarter that forces the game to Overtime completely negates the game winning FG he makes in OT...because it never would have went to OT in the first place if he wasn't a failure.

LMAO. With the capital ****er and everything huh?

I understand where you guys are coming from. Had Elam made his FG we would have lost. It works both ways and I got you guys. I understand your point. FG's kickers miss FG's. Eli misses passes. People blow coverage. No one is perfect.

When considering kicking a game winning FG there are not many kickers I would take over Tynes.

Ahhh **** it, cut Tynes. Let's sign OchoCinco as our kicker.

Elams actually the second worst performing kicker in the league this year too... just funny u mentioned him lol

Yeah, and Elam sucks too now at this point, yes Kickers miss Kicks and QB's miss passes, but when our Kicker is missing as many kicks as JaMarcus Russell is missing Passes then it's time for a change.

MMB 5 out of the 12 teams currently are starting 3 WR's with the Flex this year already...just FYI.
so ur saying more than half aren't...

5 of 12 is almost half, it could be 7 of 12 next season...and the way the draft went is irrelevant to me, I mean you are out there picking defenses in like the 10th round lol...that kinda drafting screws everything up anyhow.

no the game being close is on teh defense..

we're saying Tynes isn't adequate... we're not saying hes the cause of that being close...

should we of had a better lead? yes, definitly. No acceptable excuse for missing the 32 yarder and thats not something u overlook. Especially since hes missed 3 other balls htis year from the 20 to 39 yard range and he hasn't attempted a 50 yarder since 2006....

I thought he might have lost that one too. I think that was more or less the judges giving him the benefit of the doubt of him being undefeated. Oscar fought a great fight and I thought he was going to knock him out a few times during that fight. To Mayweather's defense though, it seemed like he got more aggressive when he was taking those huge hits.

What also impressed me was that in the 24/7 Mayweather/Marquez show, Floyd said that he never watches tape of his opponents. He said he is a "pure" boxer with great defense that can adjust to anyone with any fighting style in the ring.....and if that is true, then I'm HIGHLY impressed.

OK let me butt in midway through the discussion and say there's a significant chunk of responsibility on Tynes. Over the past 2 weeks he cost us a win and sent us to OT (yes I know there are other factors) cause when your ONLY job is to kick the ball through the uprights thats what you gotta do, missing short-midrange kicks when the game is on YOUR shoulders is blatantly unacceptable

If it wasnt mid-season he'd be on the unemployment line like a hefty chunk of the country's population, but Pappy Coughlin is too conservative to dump him midway

Its not like we ask him to do alot like kick long bombs in inclement weather, we've been asking him to make average to borderline EASY kicks that he's getting payed much more than most of us fans who could produce similar results

We all get caught up in the kick that sent us to the SB, but we shouldnt have even been in that OT to begin with, if he could kick then we would have made it and ran the clock at the end, cause those werent FAR kicks he was asked to make, yes I know it was GB at -20 and its like kicking pineapples barefoot but hes a professional and gets big bucks to kick in clutch times

MMB 5 out of the 12 teams currently are starting 3 WR's with the Flex this year already...just FYI.
so ur saying more than half aren't...

5 of 12 is almost half, it could be 7 of 12 next season...and the way the draft went is irrelevant to me, I mean you are out there picking defenses in like the 10th round lol...that kinda drafting screws everything up anyhow.

okay its not half, infact the majority ARE using RBs... either way adding two teams and keeping the option avail to use a RB in the flex is going to guarantee that any RB worth a damn is going to be taken in the first three rounds

which makes the draft totally less fun and the league less strategic... i think ur scared cuz all u know is the ol get 3 RB approach (which u swore u wouldn't do and did btw)

Bironas has missed two within that range (half as many) but still is perfect from 20-29 yard chip shots and is 3 for 4 with 50 yarders..

Tynes has missed 4, 2 which were ultimate chip shots, and isn't even considered for long balls..

mediocre would be a compliment and who gives a **** if hes admitted hes had problems... obviously he has, he was missing kicks HS kickers make

not with a chip shot like that... that is YOUR fault.. not blocked you just kicked it completely sideways?! no way.... 75% ok we can deal with that but you should be 95% on FGs that close on the entire season.</P>

name better kickers then tynes....and you guys keep saying he cant kick a 50 yarder, neither could carney.</p>

i know it seems like im defending him and i agree with kasanova, he gets paid to much money to miss chip shots, but the guys still one of the best in the league right now.</p>

years ago we picked up a pawn broker off the street and he did better than tynes has.
</p>

That pawn broker was in the Baylor U. Hall of Fame. And was a very good kicker. (including making a 60 yard FG for TB to win a game)</p>

Guess what, when he was here, everyone wanted him out. </p>

He was still better than Tynes and it shows that there's guys out there we havent even heard of that probably can outperform Tynes.

He has made and attempted more FG's than any other kicker also. 21/26 total. Should be 23. If he made those 2 he would be the best statistical kicker in the league. Again, give the guy a break. Is 100% the only thing that will make you guys happy?

Tynes Has played in 66 regular season games and 6 postseason
games...He has made 92 of 115 regular season field goal attempts (80
percent) <font color="#0000ff">Every 4/5 he makes. That is pretty good no? </font>

From 20-29 he is 8/10
From 30-39 he is 9/11
From 40-49 he is 4/5

God that is horrible!!!

You guys are nuts. Tynes is playing just fine. He has had some issues but he is working on them and admits his mistakes.

Mike Vander 87%
Nate Kaeding 86%
Matt Stover 83%
Rob Bironas 84%

Those are some of the greatest kickers ever. He is not far behind...

80% is horrible relative to other players....80% would have made him the 30th worst kicker in the league last year.

I think we could use an upgrade kicker
This coming from a guy who used his 12th rd pick on him.
cause i have FAITH in the scottsman un like some people around here.</p>

ok well sometimes you can defend someone cause you personally like them but at this point no one can defend him... no one has faith in him... no one wants him in a giants jersey... its time to let go dezzzy</p>

like i said, if you going to blame tynes you might as well blame eli for missing boss twice in the endzone which forced us to go for 3...</p>

as a QB you are not expected to complete EVERY throw... you also have defenders to work around.. if tynes FG got blocked because people werent blocking their men then i wouldnt be putting hte blame soley on him... your talking about a 30 yard field goal which is a chip shot and no one even came close to him... not to mention its not like it was his first miss this season... every time he is gonna kick you shouldnt have to PRAY it goes thru and hold your breath.. if its at that point its ridic and you know it as well as i do!</p>

and as a kicker youre not expected to make every kick, as a wr your not expected to catch every ball, as a d end youre not expected to get a sack every play, as a corner theyre not expected to intercept the ball every play. lol</p>

i know hes missed a few this season, big ones too, but so does every kicker in the nfl. theres a stat somewhere around here that says he makes over 80% of his field goals, leading the league amoung active kickers</p>

yes, but unfortunately, unless there are extreme weather situations, which there hasn't been, you are suppose to hit every 20 yard FG, i'd even say 30 yarder...

missing 4 between the distances 20-39... nobody else is doing that and thats the point
</p>

I saw Morton Andersen miss a chip shot on the last game of the season for Atlanta that kept them out of the playoffs. And he was the greatest kicker I ever saw.</p>

I saw Adam Vinieteri miss a 20 something yard kick vs. SD a few years back that cost them the game at the end. And we know how good he is.</p>

Should they have cut those kickers.</p>

I saw that ****head Colts kicker Vanderjhak make everything in sight (including all chip shots) but miss the kick that could have tied the game in the playoffs. They rightfully released his ***.</p>

Tynes may miss a chip shot more than many, but he has shown the ability to knuckle down and make the big ones. Ultimately, thats more important.</p>

</p>

nobody is saying it doesn't happen moorehead, don't try and exaggerate it...

what we're saying is that it shoudln't happen as frequently as it does...

dont stretch the truth Moorehead, hew as perfect kciker on the season, nobody wantd him out, we wanted somebody else to do kickoff duties... lets not lie here.. it had nothing to do with Carney as the FG kicker, it was because maybe if we were lucky it would go past teh 15 yard line when he kicked off

gostkowski and bironas and maybe gould are the only ones you can say are better. </p>Well Gostkowski is a UFA after this season and we know how cheap the Pats are especially with special teams, and I think he's only 24 or so. But Dan Carpenter (http://www.nfl.com/players/dancarpenter/profile?id=CAR297693) the 23yr old kicker from Miami is another decent and probably much cheaper option who's gonna be a UFA after this season

Correct, and that is a huge problem. But had he made those 2 as he should have he would be close to 90%. It was a fluke he missed them. I don't know why or what happened.
