uhg... Yanks going after Nick Johnson...

Jason Bay sounds good right now lol
you were all for him yesterday. and you never responded to my bet</P>

didn't see ur bet

and I wasn't all about him i just brought him to show how bad of an idea Nady is....

You do realize that NOBODY is even mentioning him and htat was the point of it...

what was ur bet tho ? I've been known to throw a couple pennies down for a friendly wager
100 bucks the yanks make a move for a pitcher before the season. doesnt matter who it it is or for who. deal just has to go down. </P>

just because teams dont want him doesnt mean nady is a bad idea. its not even jan. hell be picked up. ill bet you another 100 bucks on that one.</P>

i would agree with that. We just lost coke and we may be moving Hughes to the bullpen.

So that bet is common sense..

i'll make the bet that they don't go after a big name pitcher tho. I'll give u 2-1 odds on the 100 (barring an injury)
lmao then wtf were you arguingfor yesterday?!</P>

ehh i mean how do we determine whos a big name pitcher. and keep it simple. no odds bs.</P>

well u were arguing that the yanks needed another ACE. I said thats ridic.

If the yanks get anybody else its going to be for middle relief or somebody to come in and and challange for the 5th spot in the rotation...

You were sayin package Melk and Joba for a pitcher... I pointed out that woulda been enough for Halladay and that Joba is one of the best 4th in rotation pitchers in the league, let alone the AL.

So the real question is what are u arguing?

the yanks need another ace. lol. wouldnt you like another ace? funny i was throwing out names and you never responded yesterday.andthe names i threw out were easy trades. i dont get why your so against it. then we move joba to the 5 spot and move him back to the pen for the playoffs cause hes still a baby and cant be trusted to start in the playoffs.

Would I like one? yes

Would adding an ace be a good thing? yes

Is it realistic anymore? no

Do we need a player thats considered an Ace? no

I mean listen the only move I could see us possibly making that has a name in it, is taking a chance on a guy like Ben Sheets.

Dude I totally missed whatever post u had up with these names... last I saw u said u couldn't come up with any... so post that again so i can see it.

No, he ain't a baby, it was the organization. You think he wanted to only go 2 innings. He was all out of whack form what we did to him at thee nd of last year... no way he could of started for us come post season after what we did to him in Sept.

Post that post where u listed the players, i def missed it

Well its simple... there aren't alot of aces in major league baseball... lol

guys like Cliff Lee, John Lackey, and Halladay are aces. They don't get moved around too often.

And whats the Nady bet?

who the **** says that we're gonna be in a 3 man rotation? We are going to have Joba playing like a normal starting pitcher this year, Hughes may be in the rotation. If they are doing good this year, they are gonna be in the rotation.

But if Pettitt, Burnett, and CC are looking as good going into the playoffs as they did this year.. .yes I would be fine wiht it.

Zach Greinke isn't on the block, infact im pretty sure he just signed an extension there lol. I would consider him an Ace tho. This is what im saying, you have to get realistic.

Jair is probably UNTOUCHABLE. A 23 year old pitcher who had under a 2.50 ERA, teams just don't hand these guys over. LoL, its unrealistic.

Just going to the garbage teams of the league and saying we'll take their best pitchers makes me think ur hitting the bong a littel too early

girardi doesnt trust joba in the playoffs, im telling you right now. thats the main reason we threw him in the pen in the playoffs. it wasnt because they "misused" him at the end of the season.its cause every other slider he throws winds up in the dirt. </P>

he should really be thanking you lol

No way man, that trade is a wash to say the least. McCoy and Westy have not done **** for a while. I guess I used Bowe to get Moss but that is about it. Had Daven kept his original team he would have won it all no doubt.

hence why u should be thanking him

Jair Jurrjens. hes young. i dont know what their contracts look like but these are easy trades. </p>

hold on i gots more. </p>

so your confident going into the playoffs next year with a 3 man rotation again?</p>

</p>

who the **** says that we're gonna be in a 3 man rotation?

</p>

girardi doesnt trust joba in the playoffs, im telling you right now. thats the main reason we threw him in the pen in the playoffs. it wasnt because they "misused" him at the end of the season.its cause every other slider he throws winds up in the dirt. </p>

3 appearances in the WS - 1 outing was 8th inning in a tie game, 1 outing in the 7th with a 2 run lead...

that shows trust

Dude your talking out of ur ***. You have nothing to base that off of. The guy didn't have the arm strength to go 6-7 innings after cooling his arm down for over a month.

If ur slider comment was true, then he wouldn't of been in in the 8th inning of the WS with the game tied... sorry but the facts don't support ur opinions at all...

make that official list for our bet with starting pitchers... and waht was teh nady bet

dude I NEVER said i wouldn't love an ace... i never said that....

I just said we don't NEED one and especially not for Melky AND joba... i wouldn't want to do that...

You keep saying how Joba is made for the bullpen, which i agree with. He can be the next Mo for us (well ya know, close)... so u want to trade him for an unnecessary ace?

Personally I hope we sign Ben Sheets. He was an Ace type before he got hurt and hes a FA. Something like that is what we would do...

You can't just go after a guy that is an ace, when the team has shown no signs or interests in trading... this isn't a video game.

yeah i will set aside any money people want me too. i figured 3rd would most likely want theirs set aside but it doesnt matter. im thinking to uping it to $30 next year to make it more interesting but there have also been talks about dividing it into 2 leagues since more people want to join but most likely as long as everyone plans on playing this league will remain the same and well just add another one next year... well figure it out once it gets alittle closer but this will def continue!</P>

It got CRAZY busy though for some reason. I think the lead manager likes me though, she fought for me on the BS that got me on my probation, so its all good. Come Monday I'm totally in the clear...theyd have to write me up for a ton of other totally different stuff to fire me lol. And I'm fairly good at what I do(4.5 years of this shenanigans lol) so I feel safe knowing they didn't fire me today haha

Damn shock....you scumbag! Counting me outalready and you had 1 player go? Lando knows the TRUTH. That my team was underrated all year, and turned it ONfor the "postseason".
Still got the Brees &amp; Colston pain train going later, and not to mention Steve Smith whos getting 125 and 2 TDs this week. I wouldnt be surprised to see a big game from Boss too!
-I'm liking the T.Jones vs Atlanta matchup too....Gore vs. Philly ...well, he blazed AZ last week, so playing against Philly's LB by committee, I'm sure he can do the same to those Philthy *****s.
Marion Barber is my bonus chip. Who knows what he'll do vs NO, but those could very well be "bonus points"</P>

Yes sir, I am a believer. I am still hoping Shock wins however. I feel I would have a better chance to win and I still want revenge. Thomas Jones killed it last year also. That was a great pick. Not sure about Gore at Philly. Smith will get looks he has never seen before and they won't let Gore beat them.

I completely disagree, the fun part for me, is when people like Quintin Gather are the plays that win you the week, everyone knows to start peyton manning, the more teams the deeper the picks the more your actual knowledge helps you win as opposed to just picking guys at the top of the list and starting them each week...

your never really making choices in 10-12 team leagues imho, you are just starting your starters...deeper leagues matchups and the wavier wire are more important.

that said it's whatever people want.

my vote is still for a 15-16 team league next year so everyone who wants to play (and will field a team each week) can play in the same league.
</P>

Nah i cant do that many people....it takes away all the fun if you have to start Jason Campbell as your STAR QB, and Kevin Walter is your stud WR, with Darren Sproles are your primary back.
NO THX!</P>

</P>

i agree with pizzy</P>

I will be going with the flow ....Amanda I fixed my email post I typed it wrong ...I am just way to fast with this typing thing ...skipped right over couple letters....lol</P>

We believed it at the time (http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=stein_marc&amp;id=2302749)
and still do: Kobe's hauling his team from 18 points down by uncorking
51 of his 81 points after the Lakers trailed 73-55 in a January game
against Toronto is a more impressive feat than even Wilt Chamberlain's
100-point game in 1962. The previous link and this one (http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=hollinger_john&amp;id=2303136) from Professor Hollinger contain all the reasons why.</p>

Plenty of accomplishment. We were getting our butt kicked.

I don't think it is that bad. Kobe has played for the Lakers for 13 years. When he almost left a few years ago I thought I was going to die. If you feel the same way then I really feel for you. Sorry man. Aaron Hill will be your savior.

i was okay with him leaving, he deserves a shot at the WS, i almost died seeing him in another Jersey though.. definitely wasn't ready for that.. Hillie and Lindie baby are the new faces ofthe Jays, although i believe Hill overacheived offensively at 2nd base but he still the best 2nd baseman in baseball.. LindoMatic and his sweet swing is going to be a monster for a long while, i can see 40 plus HR a year from him.and that wraps up my Toronto Blue Jays [:$]

Football has always been bigger. Unless you have both in your city then you might favor one more...

Basketball is unique in that it was invented by one person, rather than
evolving from a different sport. In early December 1891, Dr. James
Naismith, <font color="#0000ff">a Canadian-born</font> physician and minister on the faculty of a
college for YMCA professionals (today, Springfield College) in
Springfield, Massachusetts, sought a vigorous indoor game to keep young
men occupied during the long New England winters. Legend has it that,
after rejecting other ideas as either too rough or poorly suited to
walled-in gymnasiums, he wrote the basic rules, and nailed a peach
basket onto the 10 foot elevated track.

the year is 1891...you are thinking therewas 30 teams.. the NHL wasn't formed till 1920's or so. i'd imaginethere were only a few teams in that area and the season would end prettyquickly..

Congrats to Lando and Shocks for their great performances. It looks like Lando may be in trouble. Peyton and Wayne, both probably part time vs. Jets defense.</P>

I am glad you are back and hope you had fun. I was thinking about you in the shower this morning.

Sorry about DeAngelo, at least you finally admitted it. You will live and learn sir. Crappy part is the only reason I made a trade is because you did and I would love to have VJ right know to counter Phillip Rivers.

I am hoping the Colts decide to go for it all.I really need those guys to play or like you said I am going to be in a big quandary. I guess we will see how it all plays out. Go for it all Peyton. Either way Revis will be on Wayne and he kills opposing WR's so it's a lose lose anyway.

It was a good percentage play. I could not have forseen the injury to Deangelo and the injury to Donald Brown which made Addai much more valuable. Deangelo was one of the top 5 RB's in FF at the point of my trade. In retrospect, if I hadn't made that trade, I would have been 9-4 and had a bye. </P>

Live and learn, play the horses that brung ya. I was obsessed with taking advantage of my extra WR to upgrade RB.</P>

Thomas Jones - but he's a jet, so constantly destined for the utmost disappointment

THE FVCKING N.O. SAINTS - Wow....seriously?

Panthers- J. Stewart goes off for 30+ fantasy points? he never gets more than 10 carries, thus why Minny is overrated.

My brother breaking his arm on a ski trip to vermont and me having to drive 3+ hours to pick him up at night, thus ruining my planswith "blonde girl", cuz i was sitting in the emergency room waiting for my mom to come home from Ohio.

Not too much. Just cruised around the Carribean with Mrs. Morehead. Worked out hard every morning to keep from gaining too much weight. Watched the Giants/Eagles for a while on the 20 ft. screen. Moved inside to hopefully change their luck but it didn't help.</P>

Our defense is a joke. The Saintsexposed us and everyone else took notes. We've been swiss cheese since week 6. Its all very unsettling. The offense has been good all year for the most part.</P>

I'm actually not sure we won't finish 7-9. Its hard to say, but we stink on D. Maybe the offense will bail us out but I'm not holding my breath.</P>

</h1><h1>Yankees Aiming To Add Starter Soon (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/yankees-aiming-to-add-starter-soon.html)</h1>
<div class="byline">By Tim Dierkes [December 21, 2009 at 10:05am CST]</div>

Yankees GM Brian Cashman will "almost certainly add a starter by New Year's," reports Mike Puma of the New York Post (http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/yankees/auld_lang_sign_lnyUGytHfw1E9U0jIMUpMN). Puma notes that the Yanks inquired on the Cubs' Carlos Zambrano, but did not like the asking price. Zambrano has afull no-trade clauseand is well-paid - $53.75MM over the next three years.</p>

A few other names to consider from our trade market post (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/11/trade-market-starting-pitchers.html): Derek Lowe, Aaron Harang, and Gil Meche (we're unsure on the availability of Meche). Another interesting name could be Jeremy Bonderman,
given his $12.5MM salary for 2010. Note that the Yankees have not been
connected to these four in trade rumors; we're just speculating. And
there is the small question of whether the team has $10MM+ in payroll
space for a veteran starter.</p>

Puma finds a free agent addition more likely for the Yankees; his speculative targets are Jason Marquis, Joel Pineiro, and Ben Sheets. However, Ken Davidoff of Newsday (http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/ken-davidoff-s-baseball-insider-1.1278117/jason-bay-bengie-molina-and-the-yankees-starting-pitching-1.1664557)
talked to "a person in the Yankees' loop" who said Sheets is "not even
on the board" currently. Pineiro's contract demands remain steep, and
you have to wonderwhether a low-strikeout National League lifer like
Marquis offers anything over Sergio Mitre or Chad Gaudin. The rest of the free agent market (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/12/2010-mlb-free-a.html) is not terribly appealing.</p>

Bottom line: Puma expects Cashman to add a starter in the next eleven days, but we have no idea who that will be.</p>

Counting me out*already and you had 1 player go? Lando knows the TRUTH. That my team was underrated all year, and turned it ON*for the "postseason".
Still got the Brees & Colston pain train going later, and not to mention Steve Smith whos getting 125 and 2 TDs this week.

Should be a good Final !</p>
Hopefully not. I am going to need the G-Men to shut down your special weapon.

Hopefully the Bengals can handle Charles and I really hope Peyton plays. It is going to be crazy.

Giants 9-10 since Plax shot himself...

I love SS and Nicks but I still miss that guy, he wrote SS a letter and told him how proud he was, I thought that was cool of him.

I hope we play like this next week. Last game in Giants Stadium.

Cant agree more.....can you imagine if Manningham ran routes like Smith? And if Hixon had hands like him? lol
And we realy need to give it up for Nicks(not that we dont). A rookie reciever whos going to end up withbetween 800-900yds his 1st season? That seriously is awesome.
Anyway, yes...we have such an amazing WR corp, no complaints here....Next year I expect Manningham to lead the team in yardage

And our O-line did work last night. Even Beatty, and Chunky-Butt-Boothe had good games</P>

You said an ace. Matt already said it was common knowledge they would go after a pitcher. I just thought they would get more for Melky or just keep him. I think it's a horrible move.

I kind of agreed with you, although I wasnt very vocal about it because I was more into the resigning of Damon, and improving the DH spot etc...(which I STILL THINK WE SHOULD DO BOTH!!!)</P>

This is big news....Vaz was 15-10 on a bad team with a 2.78 ERA and was 2nd in the league with Ks.....ON A BAD TEAM. We arguably have the best 1-2 punch behind Seattle this year, imo....
Vazquez was my fantasy stud this year along with Greinke as far as pitchers go</P>
