Dude American Eagle(yes, the clothing store)heard of of Linkin Park before you did lol. They had the Papercut single on a demo handout like 2 months before the LP dropped. I heard that ****, and went to the virgin megastore in the city the day it came out to pick it up.
Dont feed me that bull****! lol....that first album was SO SICK when it came out. That may have been the last time i listened to them though lol.</p>

here in Poughkeepsie,we only have a strong local punk scene, and some hardcore....
Sure bands come thru, but we kinda create our own music....we do have a strong impact on the punk scene though.
Actually, anyone who has ever heard of Something Corporate, should know the song "Woke up in a car".....they mention "caught a train to Poughkeepsie..." because the scene here was influential to them(or so they said at a few of their concerts I went to lol).
Our biggest acts to come out of here recently are both punk bands. Matchbook Romance, and Just Surrender.
Matchbook Romance blew up extremely fast...their first album was ****ING AMAZING! one of my top 10, and i try not to be biased by saying that...
they even had a track in Guitar Hero 3 lol

Just Surrender toured with a bunch of decent punk bands in the past 5 years +
Not the same commercial success, but for the "scene" it was.

I'm more of a Dire Straits, Steely Dan, Cowboy Junkies kind of guy. The Cowboy Junkies being at the top of that list.</P>


By the way Byron, I've decided to get rid of my Les Paul. Everytime I go to play I always reach for the Strat so the LP wasn't getting played. I'm trading it in for an Ibanez hollow body which was really the guitar I wanted in the first place.</P>

Cool ..haven't try the the drop D yet just started getting intothis alternate stuff..its where the power cords as they call themcome from.."as I understand it anyway" less fingering which things quicker.. punk and medal band stuff...what little I have messed around with the open D has been fun and capoup one and you are at open E turning...</P>


I can listen to most everything certain songs jump out at me whenI hear them andI have to give them a go.. I like minor chords /progressions Am..Em are couple of my fav keys to play in..Neil Young's style had a big influence on me early on.. Those that you mention I like also...</P>


The Ibanez is a nice Guitar I don't think you can go wrong there ....I play acoustically when Iplay now and I like my sons Martin its got a great sound....I played rhythm inmy band days sothe Les Paul was a great fit"heavier sound that the fender"..Fender makes a great lead guitar...jmo</P>

Olympics were never about amateur athletics....look at the massive variety of events in both summer and winter olympics. Take basic track and field stuff. are you gonna use slower runners? or the fastest person who qualifies?

I think you assume that since in hockey and basketball we USED amateur/college players, that it was like some unwritten rule. What makes a professional athlete a professional athlete? What if the NFL closed it's doors forever, and for some reason Arena football was the only football left after college....would those guys not be pros? or since it wasnt the NFL it wouldnt be considered the Pros...
Just the way sports have developed. With your logic, the only reason they are pros is because they get paid a ton of money. Such is the price of entertainment, no?

I watched the game from start to finish. First time in my life I think I have done that. The atmosphere and level of play was very good I thought. Nothing like an NHL game in my opinion but I don't watch them often. I watched game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals and it seemed like a better game than that. The last 5 minutes of the game was great. Canada had more than double shots on goal than we did so I am assuming our goalie is the ****. What NHL team does he play for? Crosby seemed irrelevant.
